The scales were taken away and hidden somewhere she couldn't see, and her sword had been taken from her already, but she was allowed to keep the money and everything else. Then she found herself in company with Koja again, who said "We will find robes for you both so you look more like our people, and then tomorrow we shall go."

"I would rather wear my own dresses," Daenya replied, frowning that she did not know where the scales were. "I am not one of your people, and neither is Adara."

"You are tryingto learn our customs, yes? So you should dress like us. Do you not like my robe?"
Koja indicated her long flowing robe in bright orange. The colour suited her perfectly, though it would certainly clash with Daenya's pink hair.

"I would feel much more comfortable in my own clothes," Daenya insisted. "I... I do not mind your robes, but they are a little... boring, for me at least." She smiled, not quite earnestly.

"As you wish. You have gold, you can buy robes of another colour in the city if you want."
"I want a feather headdress," Adara said.
"You can buy that too. Some men and women wear cloaks of feathers, especially in the city. Mother said she once saw a princess in a feather gown."

Daenya smiled a little more earnestly now, still intrigued by the capital of the Summer Isles. Without anything else to do she was ready to leave.

They left the next day. Present were Koja and her younger sister, five archers, Daenya and Adara.
