"I will sent him further away then, to await my return, but he cannot stay where he is without knowing where I am," Daenya told Koja, before facing Adara.
"He may see my hair, and if he does he may follow. I am sure you will not want that," She added to Koja.

"Would you go to him if I send someone with you?" Koja asked. "My father will not allow you to go alone."

"I already offered to go see him under guard," Daenya replied, crossing her arms.

"Oh. Yes. We can try that, but it will be archers and some spearmen. My parents know the name Targeryen," Koja said. "You are important to us."

"You had best hope no harm comes to me then, or there will be a lot more than just one dragon in the Summer Islands," Daenya warned.
"I will wait until you have guards assembled."

"You will not be harmed as long as you do not try to run." Koja smiled.

Daenya nodded and waited to be let out.

She had to wait a while, and, when the time came, there were five archers, led by Koja's sister, and five spearmen. All of them looked formidable.
"Come," Koja's sister commanded. "Do not try to run."

Daenya rolled her eyes. "Adara, stay here. We will be back soon."
She turned and left the cage, leading the way to the spot where she had left Vandaras.

The men and women crowded around her. Daenya noticed that although all those with spears were men, three of the archers were women, including the leader, who still regarded Daenya with suspicion and dislike.
They met with no resistance as they headed back to their destination..

Daenya smiled when she saw Vandaras, giving him a little.
"You will need to stand back," She told the Summer Islanders. "He'll attack if you get too close; Vandaras does not like being surrounded by strangers.

They let Daenya go forward alone but the archers kept their bows trained on Daenya's unarmoured figure as they watched to see what would happen next.

Daenya slowly made her way to Vandaras and stroked his neck. "It's alright, Vandaras. It's alright."
While she rummaged in her bag she looked to see how close the group of archers were standing together.

They stood about a shoulder width apart but every one of their bows had an arrow nocked at her. The spearmen stood nearbyl

Daenya frowned, studying the islanders. She could do it if she wanted, hop on Vandaras and burn them. Or just fly away, though that would be cowardly.
She pulled the two bags from the saddle and set them down, before stroking Vandaras' neck. "I will be back, friend. Stay away from people, but hunt if you need." She kissed his scales before taking the bags and walking back to the islanders, ignoring them completely.

They led her back to the village. When they got back, the chieftain's daughter started towards her father's home. "You have to show us what is in the bags."

It was obvious that one of the bags was much heavier and Daenya seemed to be out of breath when she set it down for a moment's rest.
She took her time, getting her flask of water out and drinking before facing the daughter.
"I will open them and you can look inside, but you had better not take anything."

"We are not thieves. Open it. Lay everything on the ground. I want to see it all."
The arrow was pointed right at Daenya, it's owner glaring at her.

Daenya forced herself to look right at the archer and smile, before setting down the bags. She opened Adara's, to reveal its content, before opening her own.
The provisions had all been eaten, though there was still a second flask of water. There was another dress too, but apart from that the only thing within were dragon scales.

The young woman beckoned to one of the spearmen, who picked up one of the scales and turned it in his hand so she could see it properly without losing hold of her bow. "What is this thing?"

"Dragon scales," Daenya replied, taking another sip from her bottle. "From dragons no longer alive."

"Why did the dragons die?" The woman asked. "What will you do with the scales?"
One of the men bent over the bags to see if there was anything else in them.

The only other thing was her bag of coins, under the other dress.
Daenya shrugged in reply. "Whatever I wish to do with them."

"My father may wish to keep them for safekeeping. You will not need them in the city. They may be stolen."
The woman nodded. "Let us return to the village."

"As long as they are returned to me," Daenya said, not letting the edge disappear from her voice. If she appeared weak they would take all they could. She then nodded, closed the two bags and carried them into the village.
