Dany left the defiled bedchamber and saw her cousin Elseyris standing about, resembling a kicked puppy. With a sigh, she walked over and linked their arms to go back to the ballroom. "What is it with this gormless look? Is it the atrocity we all just had to witness?" she inquired, trying to cheer her up a bit.

Elseyris smiled as Dany took her arm; "I'm sorry, My Lady, do I look that bad? It was all just terribly embarrassing. I feel awful for Lady Cuy. Shall we get a drink?"

Daenerys laughed softly. "It was somewhat evident. I agree, however. It is as if nothing can surprise me anymore. A sure sign that I have been spending way too much time in this city. It is time to go home soon, I think." She looked at her and smiled, although her goblet of watered wine was still in her hand, mostly untouched. "Of course. Perhaps some summerwine. I trust you have been healed well?"

I trust that you too have healed well?" Elsey, gave Dany a warm smile, moving over to where the summerwine could be found, and filling a goblet with it. She noticed only then that Dany had a drink already. "By the Gods, I am a fool. I hadn't noticed you already had something. I am in rather more of a daze than I thought!"

"I am well, thank you. My foot is as good as new," Dany replied, having already forgotten about her cracked ribs as if they had never been injured at all. She set down the goblet on the table and picked up a new one, its contents a considerably darker than the previous. "That is nothing to worry yourself with." She lowered her voice. "Between you and me, this castle and its inhabitants seem far more decent after a cup of wine or two."

Elsey thought of her father, who had lost his life and doomed the family to ignominy because of his fondness for drink. "Whom do you think it improves? Out of curiosity."

She studied Elseyris briefly and raised her cup. "From my perspective? Everyone," she said with a half-smile. "What shall we drink to?"

Elsey thought for a moment, then smiled;
"Since this is a wedding, and you are soon to embark upon a journey, we could drink to the future?"

It was expected for Aegon to help escort the bride up to the bedding, and he did so. Judging by the comparative states of undress between the bride and groom, however, Arwyn's journey up had been the less scandalous of the two. Aegon looked at the soiled bed with obvious displeasure, but as the Queen resolved the situation he made his way back down to the feast.
He had not yet eaten, so he sat down to help himself to some of the food.

Aegon had heard a few of the rumors, most of them salacious. He had also glimpsed her across the crowd at Daenya's nameday, but at the time he had half mistaken her for the more expensive variety of prostitute.
"Of course." Aegon was seated, but he gestured for her to take a seat as well. "Vira Dragonseed, is it? How have you found the capital?"

Aerion slipped in quietly through one of the halls side entrances. Mostly unseen thanks to the bedding ceremony, he scuttled over to a nearby banquet table and grabbed himself a plate of just about everything. Looking up he saw the Prince of Dragonstone was seated and enjoying the feast, but for some filthy servant trying to engage him in conversation.
"Ah Prince Aegon, it's a fine day is it not? And such a splendid celebration!" Turning to the woman he said, "Two cups of strongwine and be quick about it. And maybe something for the Prince too."

Aerion looked aghast. "Are you mad, wench? I shall have your tongue removed if you dare speak to me that way again!"

"Apologize?" Aerion scoffed. "You should apologize to me for threatening a Targaryen of royal blood!"

Aegon was busy dipping a black crusty bread into some sort of tomato soup. He really was hungry. "Lord Aerion Strongdragon," Aegon gestured with the hunk of bread at the man in question, "Lady Vira," he gestured at the woman. "This is a wedding feast. Eat. Be civil." He took another bite of bread.

Vira? Aerion wanted to laugh. He began taking large bites of his food and ordered an actual servant to bring him his wine.

"Shouldn't you be in the Iron Islands somewhere, with your pockmarked Grejoy wife, Aerion?" a voice asked as Maekar stepped up to the trio. "I had thought that you were promised as gift to Lord Greyjoy's daughter, to be tied and delivered with a neat little ribbon," he added with a sneer.

"Poor woman," Aegon agreed, "She seemed like a gentle soul. Certainly a disgraceful display on the part of whoever ruined her day."

Aerion eyed the Knight's Inquisitor coolly. "As much as I'm sure you'd enjoy seeing me bound and gagged Maekar, I wish you'd leave me out of your unnatural fantasies." He shrugged. "I leave for the Iron Isles soon enough."

Maekar chuckled. "Believe me, good uncle, you have no place in my fantasies," Maekar said to Aerion, meeting Vira's eyes as he spoke and chuckling slightly. "Best not keep Lord Greyjoy waiting too long. They say he gave you a right beating at Sunflower Hall, when you tried to break off the betrothal. Is that true?"

The servant finally returned with his wine and Aerion drank them eagerly. "We exchanged a few blows, yes. But alas the old Kraken still has plenty of fight left in him."

"A pity he could not show it at the Arbor. I heard half his fleet turned tail and fled at the first sign of trouble," Maekar said with a scoff. "Cowards the lot of them. It will do some good to introduce some dragon's blood to those islands, it could only improve their stock," he replied, downing a glass of wine.

Now all the bedding had been taken care of Rhaena approached the group remaining in the hall and sat down with them, as far away as she could from Maekar. "There was a problem with the wedding bed?" She asked, half amused, before looking to Aegon. "You conducted the ceremony very well brother, congratulations."

Aegon looked at Vira, then Maekar, then raised an eyebrow at his brother. "I expected more from the Reavers, with their reputation." He turned to Rhaena as she walked. "Thank you, Rhaena. I'd never done the like before, but the bride and groom did not seem to mind."

Maekar avoided Rhaena's gaze; they had not spoken since their fight in her chambers, the previous evening. "I heard it second-hand, brother, when I was dicing with a few of Lord Velayron's men who arrived in port last week," he said, looking Aerion for confirmation.

Aerion nodded. "Like goats."
