"Say a few words, send them to bed," she said, knowing dragon ceremonies were a lot looser than faith ones. "May you conduct many more, for our gods."
"I liked it well enough, as much as sitting doing little can be enjoyed," she said, looking over at vira. "I trust you are settling into the keep well, I am sure you have found someone willing enough to give you the run around the place."

Maekar looked from one woman to the other, and though his gaze finally rested on the Princess, he smiled and moved to sit beside Vira. "It would be my pleasure, Lady Vira. I seem to have run out, so you have my thanks," he added with a light laugh, looking down into his empty goblet.

If rhaena minded him sitting beside the peasant, she didn't show it, keeping her attention on Vira.
"As soon as possible, if it can be helped, within a couple of days if those coming with me are ready in time."

"As I said, no doubt they meant no harm." They came to the Queen's door, and Baelon pushed it open for her. "Have a glass of wine, it will warm you." Arwyn nodded. She pour two glasses of wine and handed one to Baelon. "I wish I had your certainty," she said. "It was kind of the queen to lend us her chambers."

"Who are you taking with you?" Aegon asked curiously. He did not mind that Rhaena was taking an extended journey before their wedding; in fact that was likely for the best.

"Initially, I am going with grandmother, then lady Daenerys may be coming on the trip properly. It has turned into more of a diplomatic trip than what I wanted, but that us fine, gives it more purpose. I think a member of the Kings guard will also be coming." She said with a shrug, "it will be nice to get away from Westeros for a while."

After she and Dany had finished talking, Elseyris wandered over to the group containing Aegon;
"May I join you?"

"Lady Elseyris," Aegon nodded awkwardly as she arrived. There was quite a bit he needed to say to her, but this was not the time or place.

"Lady Elseyris!" Vira greeted her gaily, completely unaware of any tension that would arise from Maekar, Rhaena, Aegon and Elseyris being seated at the same table. "Do come and join us. I was just getting to know the Prince, and we were speaking of the poor bride's shock, and Princess Rhaena is telling us of her travel plans. Have you enjoyed yourself?" Elsey sat next to Vira, after giving Aegon a formal but cheerful bow of the head; "Your Grace," she said, then adding a similar bow of the head to Rhaena; "Princess." "The company has been good," Elsey said, responding to Vira's question. "You seem to have enjoyed yourself thoroughly."

"That is not surprising," Aegon nodded. "Only members of House Targaryen and a few bastards with the blood follow it these days."

Aegon gave Vira a long, cold stare. "You heard incorrectly," he told her.

Rhaena smiled at the group, "we are actually hoping to get a bit more solid tools for teaching the Valyrian faith, on our travels, over due time we bring the true gods to these kingdoms," rhaena added, trying to get conversation away from the seven.

Religion was exactly the subject Aegon should avoid, so he changed it. "I am told you managed to tame Aegerys. A strong beast." It was not exactly praise, but his tone lacked the coldness of his last statement.

When Aegon said Vira was mistaken, Elsey looked at him in confusion. She dared not ask though, the atmosphere was thick enough already. She kept her derisory snort about Rhaena's mention of the 'true Gods' solely in her own head. She was greatly relieved when Aegon changed the subject.

Puzzled, she replied, "Forgive me, I must have misheard." "His grace the prince is devoted to his own gods, to the Seven," Maekar said to Vira, slurring his words slightly. Drunk as he was getting, he was completely oblivious to Aegon's desire to change the subjected. "It is strange, I know, but Princes can do as they please."

Maekar didn't seem to notice that his goblet was being refilled, raising it to his lips and seeming almost surprised (but pleased) to find it still containing wine. "She ish rather nice - most of the time," he said, finishing off the goblet. His eye flicked to Rhaena a few times as he spoke, but he carefully ignored her whenever he thought she was looking his way.
"Maybe the Prinshess will return soon, and you can meet her again," he said brightly. "I think she went to the Shummer Isles," he said, his expresison turning thoughtful, as if he were trying to remember something that kept slipping away.

Maekar of course had no idea about the king's ultimatum regarding the Faith of the Seven, or even Aegon's betrothal to Rhaena, but Aegon was still distinctly annoyed by his drunken blundering. Nor did it help Aegon's mood that it had become clear by this point that Maekar had reneged on a series of decisions he had made after Aemy's death and was clearly still Maegor's attack dog. Aegon had little desire to air grievances around the seed and half the family, however, so he instead took one of the Strongdragon's two cups of wine and took a drink.

"Is that so?" Vira asked gravely. She thought he was adorable when he was drunk. "You are so boring compared to your sisters, why are you not traveling anywhere?" "Bastards do sas they are told," Maekar said, and his impersonation of the King's voice was surprisingly accurate. He finished his wine off again, and looked into the goblet for a moment, as if he expected it to replenish itself. When it did not, he looked back up, meeting Vira's blue eyes with his one. "I'm boring?" he asked in rather hurt voice.

She sat next to him, took her glass in one hand and sipped daintily. "I'm happy we get to be alone at last," she told him. "I was very aware of everyone watching me, both in the ceremony and at the bedding."" She looked around at all the fine furnishings. "Oh, this is a lovely room! Her Grace is so lucky! One day I shall have fine silks and velvets at home too, and they shan't be moth-eaten." She smiled, starting to unwind a little, enough to slide her hand across his thigh. "I want our first night together as husband and wife to be special."

"People should remember when they are invited to go travelling, and reject such generous offers" she said, talking about Maekar, but not looking at him, smiling at Vira, and grabbing the second of the strong dragons goblets after Aegon did, and taking a sip.

She took a mouthful of wine then lay down, waiting. She had been nervous before, at the bedding, and distraught over the desecration of the bridal chamber, but she showed no fear now, and no distress at all. Baelon knew she trusted him.

Baelon leaned back to give her a kiss, before sliding off the bed and kneeling in front of her legs.
And fade to black.

Maekar looked up at Rhaena sharply, and for a second it appeared like he had been about to say something, but then he closed his mouth and looked down into his empty goblet again. "I'mm drunkern I thought," he slurred. "Have a good night, your grashe, princessh," he said, looking at Aegon and Rhaena.
He stood, swaying for a moment before he found his balance, and he looked down at Vira with a small smile, before he turned on his heel and marched out of the Hall.
