The wedding of Baelon Waters and Lady Arwyn Cuy, held in the Queen's Ballroom. It was not to be a large affair, but all the Targaryens in King's Landing were invited to attend.

Many important members of the court were in attendance, including the Master of Coin and his hunting companions, the Grand Maester, the Princess Dowager and her companion Taena. Also present are visitors from House Tyrell and House Arryn. The bride's three sisters are all garbed in maidenly white.

Baelon was in a side room pacing nervously, on his second bottle of wine by the time the guests started arriving.

As Lady Arwyn's father was dead and the match was proposed by the crown, the responsibility fell on the King to escort Lady Cuy down the aisle. The king didn't give a shit, however, so the responsibility fell on Aegon.
As it seemed it would be awhile before the ceremony began, Aegon spotted the sky-blue tunics of House Arryn and made his way over to see which of them had made it. Aegon had squired for Lord Arthur, and there was no man in all the Seven Kingdoms the Crown Prince respected more. He did not know Lord Arthur's sons quite so well, but he had met and campaigned with each of the older two for at least brief periods.

Lord Arthur was present with his eldest son, Ser Edmyn. The two were in conversation but broke off when they saw the prince. They bowed.
"Prince Aegon, greetings. I am honoured to stand here with you now that we are finally at peace. There were times when I feared this day would never come."

Elseyris was glad of a chance to watch a happier occasion, and so had arrived fairly early. She wore a dress of lilac silk, with a high neckline, to cover her scars. She was not concerned about them herself, but thought it would likely be more polite to cover them. Her hair was in a single thick braid, lilac ribbons woven through it.
She looked around at the other attendees, smiling at Lady Cuy's sisters in particular. Their cheerfulness was infectious. She held in her hands a small box, wrapped in white silk, to present to the bride and groom after the ceremony.

Daenerys Velaryon had instinctively taken the seat next to her good friend Taena, chattering away as they waited for the ceremony to commence. She was wearing a cream-coloured dress, and had decided to lay low on the jewelry this time with only a golden dragon-shaped arm ring - a piece she had taken over from the Dornish. Her hair was in an elegant braid around her head.

Visenya was pleased to have been invited to the wedding, so she showed up and found some wine as quickly as possible. She was dressed in a new gown, from a dress shop that was becoming very popular among royal ladies though Visenya had some suspicions about its vicinity to several brothels. Still, the lady did fine work, and visenya would not judge her for catering to whatever customers came her way. It was a very fetching gown of dove grey, cut on the bias to better cling and drape against Visenya's lush figure. The skirt and sleeves were full, as was traditional, but long pieces of lace had been set in to allow skin to peek through here and there.
She looked around for people she would be interested in being seen with, and, finding no one, went to ask Reyne and his retinue if they would oblige her with a seat among them. She thought she saw Ser Jaime among them.

As soon as they straightened up, Aegon clasped Lord Arthur's arm in a familiar warrior's handshake, then did the same to Ser Edmyn. "It is good to have you here. And please, there is no need to call me 'Prince' among old friends." Aegon's smiles had been hard to come by since his meeting with his father, but the one he gave now was genuine. "I did not know you were acquainted with Baelon?" Aegon raised an eyebrow. He would not have thought a bastard's wedding, even a royal bastard, would be enough to occasion a visit by the Lord of the Eyrie.

Megga, the twelve year old Cuy sister, approached Elsey with a friendly smile, having decided that the girl looked less intimidating than everyone else and remembering her promise to Arwyn that she would try to talk to some people. "Hello," she said. "I'm Megga. This is my first time away from home. Are you new here too?"
////////
Taena, clothed in emerald green, gazed upon the high altar with a sad expression. She wished she were the one getting married, but it seemed that it was harder for male bastards to marry than for the females. She leaned close to Dany and whispered "Have you found anyone to take your fancy yet?"
/////////
Visenya was not surprised to see Ser Jaime grinning at her, handsome in yellow and white.
"My lady grows more beautiful every day," he said. "I do hope there will be dancing. If so, will you honour me?"

"I decided to take the opportunity to make our presence known at court. I have unwed children, after all, and where better to seek marriage alliances."

"But when I do, I guarantee you that you will be among the first ones to know." She offered her a warm smile. "If all fails, you can always marry one of my brothers. Although all they have are ships. I am sure you would rather some dashing heir, hmm?"

Since you honor me with your kind words, I think I will honor you with a dance. Two, if you're especially creative with your compliments." She winked at him teasingly.

I'd not mind a husband with a ship, truly, though a castle would be even better. But at least I will be able to fly within a year or so. Flying has to be better than anything, doesn't it?" "Hello there, Megga. I'm Elsey. I'm not new, no, I've lived here a long time. Welcome to King's Landing. What do you think of it, so far?" "It's very big and glorious," Megga said. "It frightens me a little but I feel safe in my bedroom. Safer than I ever did at home, because of the war. The walls here are near twice as thick as our walls at home. But I like that there's lots of places I can explore when I am used to it here. Arwyn is trying to find me a post as lady in waiting to someone. My sister Leona serves Princess Daenya. Do you know her?"

"Now, does this happy strike softness into your heart?"

Perhaps we could explore together sometime. There are lots of interesting places that nobody knows," Elsey said, her face lighting up with playfulness. Megga reminded her of her younger self, before life became complicated and difficult. "I do indeed know Princess Daenya. She and I fought in a battle together. She may be in attendance today. She has pink hair, she'll be easy to spot. I can introduce you, if you'd like?"

"They are a bit young now that I think of it," said Dany, and smiled at her knowingly. "Once you have flown, you will never know anything better. Down here, we are all restrained by our thoughts, but up there lies freedom."

Tiberys Celtigar felt rather out of place among so many high ranking members of the nobility gathered at Baelon's wedding. He was dressed in his finest tunic, the dark color of the sleeveless material blended well with the red and gold accented sleves, making him feel less like a member of the family and more like a damn lannister. Still, it was his half-cousins wedding day, and he looked forward to seeing the young lad again. Even the targaryan blood that ran in his vein, he was still of claw isle, and Tiberys valued family above all else. His gift was his fathers idea, a small chest of the treasures of Fort Hermit, he hoped it wouldn't be overshadowed by the others as he stayed near the back of the room, trying to keep an eye out for the groom while also trying to keep to himself.

She blushed awkwardly. "I would be happy for you to show me around the castle. We could bring Lysa, my younger sister. she is mad for exploring and keeps running off down corridors even though Arwyn has forbidden her to go around by herself." "They are a bit young now that I think of it," said Dany, and smiled at her knowingly. "Once you have flown, you will never know anything better. Down here, we are all restrained by our thoughts and faults, but up there lies freedom." Taena sighed. "I have only ever flow with Grandmother, and never since Victory hatched. I have never known that kind of freedom. I envy you that. But I know I will have it, one day. What are you going to do now the war is over?" "Some would say this is the worst place to seek them," Aegon replied. "There are three adders for every good man or woman at court. But I grant you there are some good ones, and I should be happy to effect an introduction if you have someone in mind." "That would be most kind," Lord Arryn replied. "I do not, yet. However, I have four unwed children, as you know, three sons and a daughter, and all must marry someone

I must have been distracted, I did not see any of you there. I hope you enjoyed the party," said Elsey, feeling a little embarrassed. "I am... well, I'm part of House Targaryen, but my mother is from Dorne." Elsey moved on quickly, not wanting to explain that awkward situation. "It is a great pleasure to meet fellow adventurers. Lysa would be welcome to come along too. I did exactly the same as her when I was younger. My parents often had to search for me high and low, eventually pulling me out of a crawl space or the branches of trees."

Aegon nodded, then looked at Edmyn. "A man could do no better than Lady Velaryon, Edmyn. She is one of the good ones. Lord Tyrell has unmarried sons and daughters too, though I confess I do not know them as well."

Baelon was in a side room pacing nervously, on his second bottle of wine by the time the guests started arriving. She snuck into the room, dressed in her normal black pants, red silk blouse and Onyx choker. Arenya chuckled lightly as he paced. "You almost look as nervous as a whore in a Sept, Bae." "Relax... This is a joyous time for you."
