"It's immaterial whether I care or not." said Rhaegar his eyes darting about the hall. "Were it not for our descent, we would not be in the position we are. Our line means we are widely regarded as "traitorspawn' irrespective of our actions and displays of loyalty in this life. We are restricted in our movements and our marriages and even our dragons." "I know that, but surely that would make you two squabbling and vying for primacy irrelevant?" "There is no vying or squabbling for primacy on my part." replied Rhaegar coolly. "However Visenya cannot expect two years of disdain and what I would almost venture to say hatred, to be wiped clean because she has suddenly deemed it to be so."

Aerion spooned some potatoes into his mouth and silently observed the growing confrontation before him. Leaving her spot, she aproached and stood beside her cousin as he shoved the food into his mouth. "So nice to see family getting along is it not", she whispered to him with a chuckle. Her statement meant for the traitorspawn as they squabbled.

Aerion grunted in response, choosing to finish his mouthful before turning to look at his cousin. He moved to speak before catching his tongue, "You looked better with long hair," he remarked.

She touched the back of her head with a small grin,"I miss it as well, but I did it for a reason." Arenya then smiled,"A very good reason."
"I have not seen you since the battle, cousin. How are you faring?"

Aerion shot her a quizzical look. "I feel fine. Why? Do I look pale?" He touched his cheek. "It's probably the wine."

Arenya chuckled again,"No, I just had not seen you."
"How are you enjoying the party?"

"Well, the food is agreeable enough." He looked to the main floor where guests had begun to dance. "The rest is less appealing, but acceptable. As long as I don't have to do that." He said, pointing with one large finger.

Sippig her wine deeply, she looked in the direction of his finger,"Do what?" Arenya wanted to know what he was describing. "I hope you don't mean spending time with your family?"

"Dancing!" He roared, spilling some wine on his doublet as he did so. "I hate dancing."

Laughing she placed her hand on his shoulder,"Aye... I understand."
"I do not care for it myself." She looked at him,"Cousin.... I feel we may need to talk and soon. We haven't talked in such a long time."
Arenya smiled", I admit, I miss your brash company."

"Yes, we are", she nodded. "I just heard you make a comment earlier about Rhaella and the performance with the Redwyne, is all."

Aerion took a long, drawn-out sip from his cup. He hadn't realized his cousin had such Fox-like hearing skills. He'd need to take that into account in the future.
"It could have gone better."

"I agree", she nodded. "I can not say to what happened. I wish I knew." Her wine tasted sweet as she sipped it again.
"But...", she sighed,"She did not run away, I don't know what happened in her mind to have us fall back...."
She looked over the room at the occupants,"We we are all due our opinion, cousin. Just speaking it in such a public arena against the Queen." Arenya stared at him,"...is frowned upon, especially by me."
"I love you , but do not speak ill of my sister again."

"You are even worse than I thought!" Daenerys said, and shook her head, although her tone was neutral, bordering on humorous. That was a lie, however, because Baelon had been acting exactly as expected of him. As far as Dany knew, anyhow. "I pray the poor soul never finds out," she added, the corner of her mouth twitching slightly. She took a deep sip of her wine and set it down on the table, giving her three companions a measuring look. She'd been itching to dance ever since the musicians entered the ballroom. "Do any of you fine men dance?" she asked. "With all due respect cousin, there is only one dancer among the men gathered worth his salt." Trajan interjected. "At least one that can match your footwork step for step."

Dany flinched slightly, not remembering a time when Trajan's sudden appearance did not have this effect on her. She quickly masked it as surprise, and even managed a small smile. "Ah, cousin. Is this an invitation?" she asked, looking at him.

"Someone should liven this party up." he replied deadpan, offering his hand. "The irony of being the one to shoulder the task amuses me."

Fully aware of such irony, Daenerys turned to offer a weak smile to Baelon, Axell and the prince before taking Trajan's hand and letting herself to be lead to the dance floor.

He led her to the floor as the band struck up a lively tune, only fit for a volta. It involved a 5-step galliard before transitioning to a rather intimate hold between the pair, with the Dany being lifted into the air while the couple made a 3/4 turn. Though the Knight Inquisitor was devoid of any of the passion that separated a good dancer from a great one, his steps were flawless in their precision.
"We have not had much chance to talk since your return, cousin." he remarked. "Did you enjoy Braavos?"

Dany kept up with an easy grace, even though it had been a while. As she recalled, the last time they'd talked, he had not been very talkative, and neither had she. "More often than not, yes," she replied. "It is a wonderful city. And I was not even troubled by the bankers.. That must count for something."

"Bravos and bankers avoid each other for a reason. There are no two creatures as diametrically opposed." Trajan said, hoisting her up by the waist for the quarter turn. "One lives for the present, savoring each moment that could be his last. The other lives with his mind always on the future, to brimming coffers on the 'morrow."

"I just don't understand what happened to cause such rancor between you. I don't recall things always being so," said Elsey, somewhat sadly.

"True." mused Rhaegar looking at his younger sister more fondly. "Once it was not so. Visenya changed though. I can only surmise that ambition and resentment at her fallen position consumed her."

Baelon had been about to reply to Daenerys when a chill ran down his spine as Trajan approached. He kept silent as the Inquisitor stole his prospective dance partner.
"Here's hoping Trajan doesn't manage to get under her dress," Baelon said to Aegon, "No doubt it would freeze her loins solid. And I would like to give them a try for myself, before that happens."

Dany mulled over this for another spin or two before meeting his eyes. "And which kind of man are you? Living for the present, as I am inclined to guess?" she offered.
