Daenya entered her tent and waited for the squire to enter.

Agrivane followed, gazing at the floor and scuffing his feet.

Daenya waited until he had entered, before taking her sword and slamming the pommel in his mouth.
"How does that feel, you piece of shit?!" She snarled at him.

He screamed and held his mouth. Two of his teeth were broken and bloody. He moaned as blood ran down his chin.

"I asked you a fucking question!" Daenya spat, pushing the boy as hard as she could. She was smaller but he was hurt, and probably caught unaware. "How does that feel?"

"Hurts," he gasped, but the word was mangled by his smashed teeth and the hands that covered his mouth. He cowered from her. "No more."

Daenya frowned, looking down at the hand that held the sword and dropping it. She took a deep breath and tried to clear her head.
"That's exactly how Waltyr felt," She said, forcing her voice to be even, measured.

"He stole from me," Agrivane protested. "It's not fair. I was punishing him."

"It is your knight who should punish him, or your lord; not you," Daenya said, finding a bottle of water and a cloth, handing them to the squire. "Only fools punish with their fists." She had read that in a book not long ago and she had thought it was a very good saying.

He didn't answer for a while. He cleaned his face first. Then when the blood had been wiped away he said "What's the point of learning how to fight if we can't do it? Knights punish their enemies in combat, why can't squires?"

"Because he wasn't your enemy," Daenya replied, setting her sword down on a nearby chest. "He committed a crime, which is reported. Knights protect the weak and bring justice but not with their swords. They use their swords to defend themselves."

"I didn't use a sword," Agrivane grumbled. "But you did. You hurt me with a sword and i'm not even your enemy."

"I am a princess," Daenya replied, cutting him off. She breathed in and took the water back, drinking from it. Ever since her sister had died the transition between one self and the other had been harder. She had felt more exhausted, more tired.

"Shouldn't princesses uphold the same rules that knights fight for?" Agrivane wondered.

Daenya sighed and stepped away. "Enough of this topic."
She couldn't well tell some squire that she suffered from a bizarre affliction, though likely there were rumours anyway. "You learned that it doesn't feel good to get beaten. Now, tell me about the theft."

"It was on my cloak, the one Ser Duncan gave me, blue with white and red trimming for ouse Florent. Waltyr stole it. I thought it was lost until I saw him wearing it. But he said it was his own."
The boy sighed.
"I want it back. It's mine."

"Then I will get it back," Daenya said, taking her sword again and strapping it around her waist. "You will wait here until I return. I will send a maester to see to your face."
She felt dreadful but couldn't show it, not to someone who was so far below her own rank.

"Not long," She replied, before hastily leaving the tent. She walked a while until she was a short way off from the camp before sitting down down burying her head in her lap.
She stayed like that a while before returning to Ser Duncan's tent.

She was shown in at once. Ser Duncan had a horn of ale while the boy, Waltyr, is cleaning a sword that presumably belongs to Ser Duncan.
"i got the boy to serve as my squire until Agrivane returns to my service," the knight explains.

"I believe Waltyr has something that doesn't belong to him; something that he stole from your squire."
She walked up to the boy to see if he was wearing the pin.

He was not, since he wore no cloak. He didn't even look up at Daenya as he cleaned the sword. Ser Duncan, however, looked trouble. "What would that something be, Your Grace?"

"Your squire told me about a present you gave him, to pin to his cloak," Daenya said. "He says Waltyr stole it from him, which caused the ruckus between the two."
She kept her eyes on Waltyr, her look one of mild anger.

"Oh that pin." Ser Duncan looked at Waltyr. "Boy, did you take it?"
Waltyr looked up, all boyish innocence, and vigorously shook his head.

"So, if I search through your possessions, I won't find it?" Daenya asked, looking at him dangerously. "Or if I get Vandaras to look at you, he won't roast you? He can tell a liar by their smell."
