Daenya looked down at her hands, nodding. "I will try, sister but..." She sighed. "I don't want to say that you wouldn't understand, because I hate those words..."

After the battle Daenya was carried back to her tent, where she was put to bed with a maester by her side. Her arm was set and she was given milk of the poppy.
Vandaras was chained up and left for now, Daenya the only one who could see to his eye. Nevertheless, his wounds would heal themselves.

After a time, Elsey was awake, and slowly, drowsily, made her way back towards her own tent. Daenya's was near to her own, so she thought to see if Daenya was there. She cautiously looked inside, and was heartened to see her cousin there, being tended to by a maester.
"Daenya," Elsey said, approaching with a smile. "I am glad you are alright. How are you feeling?"
Feeling wobbly from the milk of the poppy, she sat down in a nearby chair.

Daenya lay in her bed, barely awake as the milk of the poppy coursed through her system. She looked up and saw an outline, recognized it as Elsie.
"Cousin..." She said weakly. "You should... rest..."

"I am about to," said Elsey, kindly. "I just thought to check if you were here, see if you were alright. You are right though, I should not linger here in this state, and I see the maester is taking good care of you."
She pulled herself slowly out of the chair, wincing at the sharp pain in her ribs and shoulders.
"I shall let you be, cousin. Let me just say that you fought very bravely today."
She limped out of Daenya's tent, headed for her own.

Daenya was about to say something but she was too weak to speak loud enough to stop Elsie from leaving. Instead she closed her eyes and went to sleep.

After an hour of restless sleep, Dany made her way to her cousin's tent, knowing she would be there. No one had woken her up with news meanwhile so she assumed they were still capturing Oldtown, no doubt pillaging and plundering the once beautiful city, mainly its Sept.
"Cousin?" she asked with a slight smile, stopping in the tent opening briefly, leaning on her crutch. "I thought we might wait for the news together, unless you want to rest."

Daenya had awoken in a start moments before, finding herself alone. Her arm had been wrapped and was close to her chest in a comfortable, if itchy, position.
When Dany entered she looked up, one hand going to a cup of honeyed almond milk. "Cousin, come... come in..." She said, her voice still very weak. "Have a seat..."

Daenerys made her way over to her bed and took the seat next to it, most likely previously occupied by a maester tending to Daenya's wounds.
"Are you hurt other than the broken arm?" she asked with slight concern, leaning the crutch on the bed.

Daenya shook her head. "Just shock. I... Vandaras is hurt too..." She took a deep breath and sipped from her milk.
"How are you? Hurt bad? Who..." Her face went even paler. "Who have we lost?"

"I am glad you did not lose him completely.. I can not even imagine what that might feel like. I am fine, just a few ribs and the foot," she said, and thought back to the battle with a frown. "Countless men, no doubt, and Valarr. They carried the unconscious Prince Aemon back, I do not know the extent of his injuries.. Three dragons.. Oh, Maekar lost his eye. And one of his hands."

It was all a little too much information for Daenya to take in completely, but she nodded.
"Valarr... poor uncle..." She sighed and sipped some more from her milk. "Ser Hector is dead, yes? I think I saw Glutton eat him but... I am not sure..."

Dany nodded. "He did. His army fled the moment it happened. It is a shame that happened to Valarr," she said, although she did not know the man very well. "From what I gather, he was a good man. Which can not be said about all of them."

"It certainly can't," Daenya replied, shaking her head and closing her eyes. "Cousin... would you..."
She looked up nervously, licking her lips. "Would you see if there is anyone outside?"

Curious as to what this was about, Dany stood and went to the door, although it took her a while with her injury. She looked round and determined the area to be fairly deserted, most were probably off in the maesters' tents, taking the town, or lying on the field in a pools of blood. Shaking her head at Daenya, she returned to the chair.

Aemon makes his way to Princess Daenya's tent, he raps at the tent flap to seek entrance into the tent.

He is allowed to enter, finding Princess Daenya abed, still half asleep as she looks up to see who has come to visit.

"Princess." Aemon says as he enters the tent, he is still using his halberd as a cane, "it is good to see you alive after the battle." He says trying to hide the bitterness in his voice as he remembers his niece's dragon ramming into him from behind and robbing him of his vengeance against Hector.

"And I am glad you are alive... I did not think you would... well," Daenya said, rubbing her eyes. She didn't remember much from the battle now, it having seemed to pass so quickly.

"I should not be." Aemon says sadly, "Azuria's death is a tragic thing, made only more so that someone was caught vandalizing her corpse." He says with his head down dejectedly.

Daenya frowned. "I am afraid I know something about that..." She replied. "He... I took a squire from a knight, to teach him not to beat up those less fortunate than him. Apparently he... was a little enamored with me."
She rubbed her eyes again and sat up. "I think he wanted to give me those scales as a gift... I couldn't accept them, but I didn't want to tell you to spare you your feelings."

Aemon looks up, his eyes sparkling. "Does this boy still have the scales, and do you know where he is?" Aemon stammers.

Daenya shook her head. "I burned them, uncle. Not on the pyre, because I was asleep, but I made a little fire and put them on it."

"They are the scales of Dragon niece." Aemon says painfully, "As you well know, impervious to fire. I do not think a little fire would have been enough to burn them."

"There weren't many, and those that were there were small," Daenya answered, pushing herself out of bed and grabbing a cup of water. "I suppose he was too weak to get any bigger ones. He even picked some up from the battle field; ones that had fallen off in battle."
