Windwyrm is one of the towers of Dragonstone. It is shaped like a dragon and arches into the sky, screaming defiantly

The Windwyrm customarily contains the Prince of Dragonstone's chambers and solar. Currently in use by King Aegon II Targaryen.

(Continued from the Docks thread)
"It is true," Aegon confirmed. "Men have too little breath to waste on flattery." The King set down his letter, having finished it. "Your grandfather speaks highly of you. He says you are uncommonly skilled at swordplay for one so young, and show the makings of a true knight."

Valarr blushed slightly. "Thank you Your Grace. I...I do my best. When I've improved further, I hope to test my mettle against some of the best knights in the land."

Aegon nodded slowly. "Why did Lord Celtigar send you here, rather than among his own men on his own ships?" The king asked.

"I'm...I'm not sure Your Grace. My grandfather was concerned about defending Claw Island. My uncles and cousins are all live there. And I wanted to come here. To meet you." He swallowed. "And...and I wanted to see if my father's dragon was here."

"Are you certain about that last, Valarr?" Aegon asked more softly. "Two days ago I sent a man twice your age, of proven mettle and years of experience handling dragons, out to claim one for himself. Now that man is dead. No one would fault your courage if you chose to stay away from the Dragonmont."

Valarr's face fell. "My father rode Vriskaranea. Apart from my younger brother, Vriskaranea is the only link that I have with him. I have to at least see my father's dragon one more time."

"I did not say it so as to forbid you, but rather warn you of the danger," Aegon replied. "In truth there are few things of more use to me than a dragon with a good man to ride it." He paused for a moment in contemplation. "Are you squired to a knight at present?"

I was squired to my uncle Alyn, but my grandfather released me from his service when he sent me here. I think he was hoping that some greater knight would take me on." replied Valarr.

Aegon scratched at the stubble on his chin, trying to take the measure of the boy before him. "Your father died in service in a campaign I recruited him for. I would be no king worthy of the title if I did not see that his heir had opportunity to succeed. If you change your mind about your father's dragon, or the beast drives you back, I will find you a man of worth to squire for. One of my Kingsguard, or mayhaps Lord Arryn who was my knight when I was your age. But if you manage to tame a dragon, I will take you as my own squire and teach you how to defeat your enemies from the skies."

Valarr's face shone.
"Your Grace! he breathed. "Other than to be a knight, to be your squire and to ride my father's dragon would be all that I have asked for in this life. To serve as the Kings's squire would be a great honor. My father would be proud I think. My grandfather would definitely be."

The king nodded with a slight smile at the young man's enthusiasm. "Then you are dismissed to find your dragon, Valarr. Attend to me upon your return."

Aegon takes Rhaena up to the more private confines of his solar, leaving Ser Olyvar guarding the door. He leaned back informally against the room's heavy desk, giving his wife another look. "You look well," he told her, though it seemed more a perfunctory comment he thought was expected of him than anything else -- it was clear he was more curious as to her news.

"As I said, I am touched by your concern for my well being," She said, remaining standing on the other side of the room, "I left with two dragons, and I have returned with four, plus gaining you the loyalty of the old Lord Hand, who I believe should be here by now." Rhaena informed him.
"While I was away, I also stopped by Tyrosh and enlisted the help of their army for the price of marry Arenya. Her and her husband will be given the lands Maekar had as Lord of Darkheart Keep, any children they may have will swear loyalty only to the Iron Throne. He is also a great general, and they are bringing the men on many ships, all the better to attack King's Landing if we need to with troops."

"I sent you to Driftmark," Aegon said in frustration, his voice raising. "And yet you wind up in Tyrosh? You did not think that the matter of Arenya's hand was of interest to me? I have already hired mercenaries, and I intended her as the price to the Volantenes to pay down our debt." Aegon ground his teeth together to avoid shouting, then continued in a more level tone. "And I count two dragons. Where is Yana? Where is Elseyris?"

"You do not send me places, Aegon, I am not one of your foot soldiers. What good is decreasing the debt if you have no kingdom to be in debt for. We need men now, money later, and I am currently thinking of the now, what can Volantis give us at the moment to regain our home, if it is money they give us it will be on buying troops, which I have no acquired with out the need for ?" she asked, glaring at what she considered to be idiocy. She shook her head solemnly.
"This whole conversation is pointless. Elseyris is dead, we killed her on the stepstones, She died screaming while I burnt her alive. Spinel is injured and so Yana is taking ship back." She said, all of the information being relayed in the same deadpan tone, like it was just any report. She looked hard at Aegon, but it was clear her focus was behind him, on the shadows in the room, trying to use her powers to hold Aegon in place, covering his mouth to stop him making noise and pulling him to the ground, at the same time as absentmindedly removing her bow from her shoulder as she concentrated, and notching an arrow, to raise it and fire at him.

Aegon rushed Rhaena as soon as the word "killed" left her mouth, Penance in his hand. "Webber!" Aegon roared, knowing him to be at the door directly behind Rhaena, with a cadre of guards not far behind. His sister had ever been the archer, but even through his shock and rage some military part of his mind noted the poor choice of weapon for the environment.

Round 1
As the two act, it seems that Rhaena moves that little bit faster. Her sorcerous powers have often been unruly but today they hold true. Rhaena manages to call her shadows and use them to ensnare Aegon, holding him in their arms and covering his mouth so his call for Olyvar Webber is abruptly cut off. The shadows hold firm, meaning that Aegon cannot break free. Rhaena coolly fires her first arrow, but her shot goes a little wide and strikes him in the upper arm (his off hand).
(Aegon takes an average wound)
Rhaena rolled highly for magic so Aegon will have to pass an athletics check to break free in Round 2.

Aegon felt a coldness on his limbs as his sister's abominations ensnared him, felt his shout cut off before it had begun as he was gagged by shadowy hands. His eyes roared the outrage his lungs could not, and he strained with every ounce of his strength against the sorcerous snares.
If he managed to break free, he would continue his charge, doing his best to dodge or deflect another arrow while shouting for his guards.

Posting this following confirmation from Rhaena that she would keep firing arrows.
Round 2
Aegon struggles hard against the shadows and manages to break free. He rushes at Rhaena, but at such a short distance her arrow catches him square in the chest, narrowly missing heart and lungs. However, Aegon has managed to close the difference between them, and is now able to brandish Penance as he shouts for Webber. Rhaena realises that the distance is too small for her to use her bow this time. She will have to use magic, or other means, to defend herself.

Aegon grimaces as blood streams down his arm and chest, finally bringing his axe to bear against Rhaena. "Kill the traitor!" He commands any guards if or when they enter.

Loath as she was to toss aside her bow, one of her favourite possession, she knew she would not have time to replace it on her shoulder, and it would no doubt prove cumbersome.
In the same movement as throwing her bow away from her to the side, she drew her sword and readied in the brief time it took him to close the distance between the two of them, aiming for his lower body, to try and immobilise him from traversing the room so easily. Her heart was still beating rapidly from her magic actually working first time as she wished it did, as that had rarely happened before.

Round 3
Aegon makes the first pass at Rhaena, their blades ringing off of one another. But Aegon's wounds are bleeding freely and despite his Valyrain steel and superior fighting skill, he cannot get past Rhaena's guard. They continue to duel. In the meantime, Ser Olyvar Webber runs in and cries "Stop!" He draws his sword.

From what Rhaena knew of Ser Olyvar Webber, he was dutiful to a fault, he had known her for the eight years he was a Kingsguard, she thought that he must know how her father had favoured her above her siblings. She kept slashing at Aegon, trying now, to aim for his throat.
"Ser Olyvar," She cried as the Kingsguard approached, pausing her speech as they fought, "He's gone mad! He's trying to kill his own child!"
