Medium-sized yet fancy quarters given to Daenerys for her stay in the capital consisting of a bedroom and a small solar. There is usually a Velaryon guard at the door.

Daenya had decided to get to know some of her cousins a little better and so she made her way to the chambers of the Velaryon heir, knocking on the door. She wore a simple dress in light blue, her hair flowing freely and with only a small gold necklace on for ornamentation.

Daenerys was sitting in her solar with her feet on another chair, drinking some chilled tea and reading a poetry book in High Valyrian, or at least attempting to. She wore a cream-coloured summer dress and multiple golden rings around her slender fingers. The only window in the room was wide open, and the occasional breeze from it made the hem of her dress fly lazily around her bare ankles.
"Come in," she called, lowering the book to her lap in order to look at the door.

Daenya opened the door and strode in with a smile.
"Cousin Daenerys, you look very pretty today," she said upon entering, taking a brief look around the room and smiling at the open window. A fresh breeze was always good. "May I ask what you are reading?"

Dany smiled in return. "And you, Daenya," she replied, feeling pretty confident about getting her name right. "I love your necklace."
She lifted her feet off the spare chair and motioned for her younger cousin to take it. "Ah, just some poems. Some of them are really nice. How good is your High Valyrian, cousin?"

Daenya smiled and sat down. "Not particularly good. I knew a few words that I can say to Vandaras, which seem to calm him, but apart from that I never learned any more."
She took a closer look at one of the pages. "I recognize a few words but... hmm... 'The... Wander...'" she began to read one of the titles. "The Wandering something!"

"The Wanderer," Dany corrected gently. "Not bad. If you get past a certain point in language learning, words start coming to you by hundreds. I am not there yet. Perhaps one day. It could be useful." She set the book down on the small round table next to her and turned to Daenya. "So, cousin. What brings you here? May I offer you some chilled tea? I thought it was unbearably warm in here when I woke up this morning."

"Oh, I would love some tea, thank you," Daenya said with cheerful laugh "The heat woke me at about the fifth bell and I wasn't able to get back to sleep."
She took the tea and had a big sip. "That gave me time to think though, that I hardly know my cousins. I think father doesn't really want us to mingle too much with anyone who isn't his child. How silly!"

Dany smiled and sipped some tea as her cousin spoke. "Really? Why would that be?" she asked, looking clueless.

Daenya giggled and shrugged. "Oh, I don't know... I guess after what happened with Aenar." Her smile faltered for a moment but she managed to brush off the bad memory.
"I am sure father doesn't really think like that," She continued, finishing her tea and smacking her lips in delight. "But I do want to get to know you better."

Somehow pretty sure that this was exactly how King Maegor felt about them, Dany finished off her glass. "Same to you, sweet cousin. I am rather good friends with your sister Rhaena, I don't see why it should be any different with us," she said and offered her a kind smile, which slowly faded moments later. "Unless.." she trailed off, unsure how to discreetly address Daenya's illness.

"Unless what, dear cousin?" Daenya asked, concern on her face. "I don't see why we can't be friends."
She poured herself some more chilled tea and sipped it.

Dany looked as if she was about to say something, but decided against it and shook her head, smiling. "Unless nothing, that was not quite what I meant. Of course there is no reason why we couldn't be friends. Tell me, princess, how did you like the party the other day?"

Daenya sipped, curious about what had just happened. "It was wonderful, didn't you think so? The Tyroshi are very interesting people, though their hair is a little silly."
She giggled. "What did you think of them?"

"It was pleasant," Dany replied. "A nice change after two years of Braavosi parties. I did glimpse the Tyroshi, but I have to admit I never spoke to any of them.. other people I met were nice, though." She smiled to herself at a certain memory.

"Oh, who did you speak to?" Daenya asked, hoping it was not too prying a question. "I found the Tyroshi a little... forward. One young man had decided to heap me with praise while another..." She paused, hoping Dany hadn't seen her in the lap of the big man like a cheap whore. "Well, it was interesting..."

"Oh? Do tell!" prompted Dany and shifted in her seat as if expecting a good tale. "A story for a story, I promise."

"Oh... well..." Daenya looked away, out of the window, her cheeks going red.
"The... other men came out and made a fool of herself with one of the sellswords..." she admitted in a tiny voice.

Dany didn't really understand what her cousin meant so it took her a while to get a vague idea what the situation might have been like. "Oh. Did you perhaps.. feel like you were not quite yourself at that moment?" she inquired, a semi-concerned look on her face. She did not want to seem too pushy.

"I can only assume you have been told of... what happens to me?" Daenya said, sighing. "It comes randomly and makes me a different person. I... well, I as I am now cannot control but because that part of me is gone. I remember everything though."
She took another big sip and breathed in deeply. "I teased the poor man very inappropriately."

Dany nodded, placing a hand on her arm rather compassionately. "If he is indeed a man like you say, he will get over it," she assured. "If you remember everything you do while.. this other person, is it the same for her?"

Daenya nodded. "She knows all that I do, and remembers it... she just doesn't care." She finished her tea and set the cup down.
"So... what was your story?" She asked, smiling again, though a little weaker.

Dany seemed thoughtful for a while. "Perhaps if you put her in a position that only you can get her out of, she would be willing to co-operate," she said, and realized she didn't really have a story to tell. "I might have to owe you one this time, my court tales are not as interesting as yours yet. I did speak to the Master of Coin at the party, though, as well as a few cousins and the handsome Stormlander, Lord Toyne. Do you know him?"

"Lord Toyne? No, I don't think so," Daenya replied, wanting to forget about her other self. "Is he handsome?"
Daenya giggled and helped herself to some more tea, feeling it calm her nerves. "I probably know fewer people than I should, though sometimes social situations can be problematic."

"Very much so." The princess' attention span was clearly not her strong suit.
"Do you have many friends at court? Any knights you fancy, maybe?" She winked. Even though it was expected of the Targaryens - especially the royal ones - to marry their siblings, Dany often forgot about it, having been raised by an Andal mother.
