"The kindness will be remembered. If I am ever a free woman, perhaps I can be of service to you one day. At present I have nothing but friendship to offer, but I offer it willingly," she said.

"I have need of friends in my new home, and I am glad you are the first." Sergio smiled, and continued, "Already you have given me many great presents. Each of your smiles have been a great and powerful gift."

"I haven't smiled very much since my husband died, so it's me who should be offering the thanks," she said. "There isn't much to smile about in Kings Landing. I hope you enjoy this wretched place more than I have."

"Well I admit that with your company I seem to already be loving this city." Sergio replied. "I hope my company can make make this place slightly less wretched for you."

She toyed with a strand of hair, her eyes gleaming slightly. "Perhaps you will be successful. I am in ire need of friends. Most people are civil enough but it is not the same as having someone to talk to."

"Well I take great pride in being both civil and able to talk." Sergio replied with a wry grin, "In fact... those are the least of my many skills."

"Indeed" Warming up to the idea of possibly having found a friend, Jeyne was beginning to relax. She leaned in closer. "What other skills do you possess, Master Delinaal?"

Sergio smiled demurely, "I am but a simple man. I run a network of holdings. I can dance quite well. I can read a man in a glance. I can do Advanced figures in my head." He stopped and thought deeply for a long moment before adding, "Oh yes, I have been told I am an excellent kisser."

She laughed at the last one. "You left the best until last, then? Do you kiss a lot of women? And tell me, what do you make of me if you can read people as well as you claim?"

"I have kissed my fair share of women." Sergio replied. Then before continuing he studied her closely. His eyes touching every inch of her. "Well you are stronger then you seem. A beautiful woman trapped in a Web but you have your fear under control. And you are a fiercely loyal mother willing to take a thousand cuts to protect your cubs." He paused and sipped from his wine. "Also you are very lonely. And I think an amazing kisser as well."

She laughed aloud at that. "And how would you know, just by looking at me? I might be the worst kisser the world has ever known." But the easy way she said it indicated she had no real fears on that account. "I think you should add flattery to your list."

"My tongue has many surprising skills and flattery is most definitely one of them." Sergio answered, "Though flattering you I'd hardly a difficult task. There are a thousand different ways I can think of to describe such a heavenly creature."

"I ought make you name them," she said. "But we would lose count well before one thousand. And I think you would grow bored by then. Are you planning to stay in the city long?"

"I plan to live here for the time being." Sergio replied. "My interests often take me away but for the time being I plan to be based out of Kings Landing."

"Ah. That is...good. I hope our friendship will persist then. Do you plan to seek an audience with the king?"

Sergio quirked a single eyebrow. "I had not planned to. He seems like dreadful company. Is there some reason I should?"

"It would be a courtesy, perhaps. But it is your choice. I fear His Grace might take it amiss if I am known to have a friend from the outside world."

"I am new to court. What do you recommend? " Sergio asked calmly.

She pressed her hand on his arm, leaning close so that her breast brushed his arm.
"Don't go to see the king. Be my friend and perhaps, one day, you can help us in ways I would never have dreamed impossible. Perhaps you can befriend someone more sympathetic to my cause than the king."

"You are very convincing." Sergio replied with a warm smile. He took her hand in his and continued. "I will be your friend. And still serve you in any way you will have me." He raised her hand to his mouth and kissed it lightly. "I may only be a man not a Knight but I pledge this to you."

Her smile deepened. "I will remember that. I hope that one day I will be able to return the kindness you have shown to me. How will you send me word when you have made the...arrangements we discussed?"

"I was hoping to see you again. If you would prefer to meet in the city I know of several good inns." Sergio smiled at that thought warmly.

"Perhaps you could recommend your favourite, and name the day and I will meet you there." She seemed much more relaxed now. "So long as my guards do not object."

"Of course. My favorite is a place I own called Alina's. She is the manager, and she has the best sweet breads in all of King's Landing." Sergio replied, "What day would be good for you?"

"Oh, any day," she said with a little shrug. "I have so little to keep me busy here. So a few days from now would be suitable."
