Dany nodded. "I certainly hope so. There is so much of the realm I've yet to see and it seems cruel to keep a dragon chained in a pit when they are meant to be flying."

"Yes. Vermilion does not mind chains but some of the dragons do, I know. It would be unwise to deny them freedom when the realm is safe. It is to be hoped that in peace time we could all travel as we see fit. For myself, I should like to gather exotic herbs and learn foreign lore. I mislike travelling in wartime but one assumes it is different in peace. Perhaps the two of you would care to escort me some time? When Victory is grown, of course."
Taena nodded eagerly.

When she was not bashing on the Faith, the Princess Dowager was quite interesting, although definitely difficult to get along with, which made Dany nod as well. "Sure. Exotic herbs and foreign lore makes me think of the far east.. Asshai?" she offered, although she had little to no idea what these lands were like.

"AH yes. Asshai has some very interesting things, I hear. Yet I have never travelled much at all, not even in my youth. I should certainly like to see Asshai."

Kesi wandered along to see the Princess Doweger one day after everyone had gone. She was dressed modestly today, in a lavender dress, and her blue hair was pinned up.
She hadnt seen the Princess in the time that she had been in the keep, excepting the rare occasions that their paths crossed.

She was allowed entry. Laena was busy crushing herbs with a pestle and mortar and did not look up when Kesi was announced.
"Ah, greetings," she said, focusing on her work. "I find there is nothing as satisfying as crushing the herbs before I make them into a potion."

Kesi smiled, the other woman speaking her type of language.
"I am liking the growing of them a little more." She said. "But Satisfy yes, does satisfy."

"Ah yes. I cannot fault you there." Laena stopped and turned to face Kesi. "What can I do for you?"

"I is hearing that you is like myself." Kesi answered. "Is good idea to talk and find if rumours are bing true."

Laena smiled. "The rumours about me, you mean? Rumour is not always right, girl. Best remember that."

"I is always remembering." Kesi said. "Rumour can be like poison I have been founding."
She glanced around the room.
"If is bad time, maybe another better?"

"Not at all." Laena put aside her things. "Please be seated." She gestured towards a chair and took a seat in her own favourite chair.

The Qarth girl smiled and sat.
"If rumour is being true, maybe I can be talking about things with you, maybe learn?"

"Perhaps you can do so, yes. What sort of things are you hoping to learn? I had reason to believe you were most skilled in the healing arts," Laena answered.

"I am knowing secrets of healing yes, but there is alot of other things to always learn." Kesi answered. "If no asking or talking then no learning and when we are passing then secrets are being lost."

"That is very true. But I wonder why I should put my trust in you? Perhaps I have already chosen the custodian of my knowledge? Why would I trust a girl from Qarth?" Laena countered.

"Prehaps you have, and trust is only be gained in time. Warlocks believe that knowledge is of no use until shared." She said. "I is knowing alot about healing that I can be sharing too."

"Can you? Well, you are confident, at least. But tell me, why should I trust the warloxks' wisdom? I hear they drink shade of the evening. A most strange practice that surely deranges the mind."

"For some, no doubt." Kesi said, with a small smile a shrug. "I am having to be confident to be of this court I am thinking. If I was no confident then I would not be being listened to. I learn this on travels."

"I am in agreement there. We must all strive to learn new things. I would like to see an example of your skills. Both healing and the other kind."
The Dowager folded her hands and waited.

"I am not seeing anyone who is needing healing, unless you are not being well?" Kesi said, tipping her head slightly to the side.
"Other... power is not being good all the time." She warned. "Have to be making sure that is wanting to see."

"I am quite well," Laena answered. "You could brew up a healing potion or make a poultice, could you not?"
She stood, walked across the room.
"I am sure you can do something small that is not dangerous."

Kesi thought of all the tricks that she had learnt over the years and nodded.
"I will be doing a cure for cold. Is one that can be kept and is useful no?"

"So it is. Best hope it is one I know, else I may not believe you. Proceed. You may use my things."
She gestured towards her table, her pots and implements and her jars of herbs and vials of liquid.

Kesi got busy, singing a native song as she did so.
She picked up seemingly random herbs without looking and going by touch alone until she got the right ones.
