Yana shakes her head 'No M'Lord.. She was a commoner.'

Brandon nodded. Common or noble, the Targaryens took whom they wanted.
"I am also a Snow." he said.

Yana says slightly questioningly 'M'Lord' with a small nod of her head in aknowledgement, it not holding much meaning to her that they both happen to come from the North

Brandon eyed the girl curiously, "I fought with your father," he said, "At Bitterbridge, where he died. I was very young, then, but I remember. It's where I won my knighthood."

A dark shape emerged in the distant sky, drawing nearer rapidly. It quickly became clear it was a dragon. It was a large, stocky thing with blood red scales and black horns, and it let out a small trilling noise as it circled overhead.
Elsey had sought out the Orange Shore as a place to stop on the way to Volantis, but was immediately intrigued to see that there were both people and dragons on the ground. She recognised all of the dragons on the ground as she swept down closer, and she brought Caraxes down to land nearby.
She swung herself out of the saddle as quickly as she could, and jogged towards the little camp.
When she laid eyes on Aegon, she took a deep breath, tried to steady her mind, and strode towards him. Despite the somersaults her heart was performing, she spoke calmly;
"Your Grace?"

A shout from Ser Rolf alerted Aegon to the incoming dragon. On edge from the recent tidings, he moved swiftly to Glutton, but did not yet mount. A lone dragon could not be an attack against their numbers. Another messenger, so soon after Yana? Aegon did not recognize the dragon at first, and when he did it was only to recall that its rider had been five years dead.
It was only when Caraxes landed and his rider jogged out toward them that he recognized her, and his heart skipped a beat. "Elsey?" Aegon asked. He could not imagine his father giving one of Aenar's children a dragon, which led him to a certain conclusion. He struggled to keep his tone formal. "Do you have news to report?"

Yana watches the dragon and rider, alertly for any threat they might pose given the infomation that was shared with her by the Prince, wandering why they arrived with such haste

She wanted to run up and throw her arms around him, but she kept her composure, though her eyes shone a little to hear him say her name. Her expression turned solemn;
"I do, Your Grace. Is there somewhere we may speak privately?"

Aegon nodded slowly. He walked a short ways down the beach, still close by and easily seen by those at the camp, though out of range of hearing normal conversation.

Rhaena watched as Elseyris landed with an impassive expression, if she had news about her father, then she should really be sharing it with her too.

Aegon and Elseyris retreated off into the middle distance, too far to hear their words or read their expressions, though they were clearly having an animated discussion about something. They spoke from an arm's length for a time, then Elsey moved closer so that the two were touching. Slightly later, Aegon ran his hand through his hair and walked a few paces away, only to walk back closer again and take her hand.
After a time, Aegon and Elsey turned and walked back to the camp.
"Elseyris brings grave tidings," Aegon said to the entire group as he approached the camp. "My father King Maegor II Targaryen is dead, slain by my brother's whore Vira Blackwood. Maekar has not yet made a claim for the throne, as far as we know, but I cannot imagine he will wait long. Other news as well -- it seems before he died, the King attainted both the Master of Whisperers and Inquisitor Trajan, executing the former and sending the latter into exile."
He paused for a moment, eyes meeting each man and woman in turn. "I am my father's eldest trueborn child. With his passing, I claim by right of inheritance under the laws of our land the title King of Westeros and proclaim my rulership of the Seven Kingdoms. I am King Aegon of House Targaryen, second of my name. Kneel and swear fealty."

Without hesitation, Elseyris sank to one knee, head bowed;
"I swear my loyalty to you. Long live the King."

"My oath of fealty shall be our marriage vow, Your grace," Rhaena replied, eying Elseyris, before looking back to Aegon, "or has that changed?" She clasped her arms in front of her over her stomach.

Laena was very pale with shock regarding her son's death and the manner of it. "Maekar..." She murmured. "I always loved him best of my grandchildren. That he should be associated with such a woman...it is beyond bearing." She eased herself slowly into a kneeling position. "You have proven yourself, Aegon, forsaking your false gods in favour of the true, and giving up foolish loves" She glanced at Elsey, frowning "For an honourable match in accordance with our customs. You are our King, as Rhaena is our Queen."

Arenya gave her nephew a small smile, then knelt before him, "As always my King, you have my loyalty. Long live your reign, my nephew." Then she stood and gave him a trusting nod, and walked off to the side. Resting her hand on Tanis' neck, her tears lightly fell for her departed brother as she let the words cut into her.

Brandon stared into space for a moment. His brother- well half brother- was dead. The only reason he had come down from the mountains, back to civilization had been to keep Maegor safe- from the militants, from traitorous lords, and finally- and most of all- from himself. And Brandon had failed.
He eyed his companions and their responses. Laena and Rhaena had both made comments that associated fealty with Rhaena's ascension to Queenhood. They were truly fortunate that Brandon's cloak was white, and not black. The girl Yana had mouthed the same words, but he'd of doubted she knew the meaning of it.
He watched Aegon and saw a boy even though he knew him a man bloodied and tested. So young. But he had shown honorable conduct throughout. And while he did not, perhaps, have Maegor's mettle, at least Brandon had confidence he would not give a command to soil the honor of the Kingsguard.
"You stood with me, your grace, in that Lysene square, I will stand with you. Against all comers," Brandon finally said. "Even if my oath did not require it. Even were I not kingsguard, I would serve you," he drew his sword, and knelt blade's sharp point in the soft orange sand.
"The King is dead. Long live the King. Long live King Aegon!"

Aegon watched them in the dim glow of the fire. "Time is of the essence now," he said, "For we cannot know what evil will be wrought the longer we are away. We will push on towards Dragonstone at first light."
"It has not changed," Aegon said, watching her protective gesture, "And I would tell our followers why it will not, but perhaps that is an announcement for you to make."

"Is that the only reason?" She asked, eyeing him now, "Not keeping your word? Not doing what is right by our betrothal, not having my position as the old King's daughter improving your own, not the aid I bring to your cause by marrying you, not even what I feel has been a mutual respect growing between the two of us? You might want to make it sound as if we have a stronger relationship around others, makes us sound very weak." She asked, not surprised really. She felt numb after the confirmation of her father, "Aegon is obliged to marry me, because I am pregnant." she looked round at Elseyris, "Or I have little doubt I would already be back on the market, as it were."

Arenya raised her head at her niece's pungent announcement of being with child. That explained most of her behavior in Valyria.
"Do not upset yourself, Your Grace.. " she then glanced over at Aegon, "I am sure the king did not mean it as sounded. I am sure he felt you should make the wonderous annoucement being that you have been blessed to bring a new heir to this dynasty."

"I meant it as a point of joy, Rhaena, not as an anchor. Something that brings us closer together and makes us stronger. It is not the only reason. I thought you knew that, and I am sorry if I did not indicate it to you. But of course it is important! We will be parents to a future king or queen, a reminder that even when the tragedy of death strikes us, new hope comes." Aegon's eyes did not leave Rhaena as he spoke, watching her by the firelight.

Rhaena looked him back, eyes not leaving his for a long moment, until she raised her head slightly and looked somewhat satisfied with that. "True enough, your grace, and it is a cause for great joy, knowing our families line is to be properly continued."

Brandon nodded, "Congratulations to your graces." He ignored the women's bickering over Aegon's choice of phrasing.
"Additionally, you need not risk turning Dragonstone over to another from another line, since the heir is already on his way." He pointed out, ever practical.
