After a while he felt a shadow pass over him as a dragon flew overhead but it didn't stop, merely flying towards the coast. It was the only dragon he saw for quite some time.

Every so often he would see a dark shape flying overhead but no dragon flew down to attack him. He estimated that another hour would take him to the sea.
OOC - I need to know if you are going after a specific dragon from the list?

After a while he found a place that would be suitable, would shelter him from attack but also gave a good view of the skyline. All he had to do was wait.

He saw a few dragons, one whose scales were bright as sunrise, a blue dragon and finally a dragon with dark scales soared overhead.

The dragon flew out to sea, dove to catch a fish and emerged shortly afterwards, draws dripping and a large fish clutched in its jaws. As Vagarr watched, it flew back onto the island and towards the mountain.

He finds the dragon's cave without too much difficulty; it lies in the near side of the mountain, probably about halfway up. However, Vagarr dislodges a rock as he is starting to climb down. The dragon stirs from the cave. sniffing the air around it.

The dragon arched its back as it came forward, wings folded. If it caught the scent of man it showed neither distress nor anger, but then its eyes met his and held. The dragon clawed the ground then set a short blast of flame, perhaps a foot away from Vagarr's own feet in warning.

The dragon simply looked at him, opening its wings in front of the cave to bar it from view. It was not a threat but it was a clear signal of warning.

But when he arrived at the cave, the old man was no longer there. He remembers something he heard about the old man watching over the eggs and hatchlings though.

A short while later he found a stream as well as the necessary items to make a fishing rod. There was no sign of the black dragon at this point though he saw the blue one flying overhead.

Several hours pass and he has a small stash of fish of different kinds. The blue dragon doesn't disturb him and nor do any others.

Though he got a decent catch, Vagarr's eagerness proves his undoing and he accidentally burns the fish. The fire smokes heavily as Dake arrives back at the cave. "Still here, are yer? Careful with that!"

"Aye, I am, unless yer want to eat that," Dake replied, gesturing. "I'm not fond o' burned meat, meself." He stood, grabbing a waterskin filled with ale as he did so.

"Yer choice<" Dake muttered. "But if yer go first, do as I says. Don't startle t'dragon. That's when yer like to get burned."

"As yer wish," Dake answered. "Just remember I can't move so fast cos of me old bones." He started off towards the dragon's cave, watching for Vagarr to follow.
They met with no resistance as they approached the cave and there was no sight of the dragon.
"Might be inside t'cave," Dake whispered. "Want me ter go see?"

The dragon seemed to be sleeping. He heard its breathing and then after a while its nostrils twitched, it woke and snipped the fish. It moved closer and began to eat.

The dragon made no attempt to attack Vagarr. She spat flame only with the intention of cooking the fish, before she ate. She ignored Vagarr entirely as she devoured the fish. Finally she looked up when the fish was gone, even the bones. But she didn't move.

The dragon's eyes locked with his. She seemed to realise that his tone was not threatening because she still made no move to attack. But then she caught the scent of the other fish and darted forward towards the sack. If Vagarr valued his own safety, he'd let it drop.

A few blasts of blame and the rest of the fish was cooked and the dragon began to eat. Bits of scale flew off as she tore into the fish and she devoured all but one of them without stopping.

It seemed that she didn't want the last fish, btu the way she placed a claw over it signalled ownership. She gave a slow, casual flap of her wings and crouched ready to spring into the air.

The dragon took flight, almost bowling him over as she swept into the air. As Vagarr watched, she began to circle the area. Dake, watching, said "I didn't think yer had in in yer. Thought yer'd be dead for sure. Now what"? He indicated as the dragon flew away from them.

"Your choice then. Do yer need me?" Dake wondered. "Fancy I might go check on t'eggs."

"I'll come back day after t'morrow," Dake promised. "Gods protect yer. Dragons're dangerous to them as don't know 'em well. But mayhaps yer'll succeed."

After praying at the Sept, Elseyris made the trek out to the volcano. She picked her way along the rugged path along it's side, glancing around in awe at it's magnitude. The sight of the caves filled her with both excitement and trepidation. Her initial intent was to scope out the dragons, but she had obtained several large slabs of raw meat from town, carried in a sack, in case she needed something to throw to an aggressive dragon, to give herself time to retreat safely.

Fortunately for Elseyris, she is not immediately disturbed as she makes her way towards the caves, though she sees a dragon flying overhead. However, at some point she will need to find a dragon and approach it.
