Brandon approached Arenya with whom he had not spoken since the debacle in the throne room.
"Ser," he said with a nod, "I was wondering if I could impose to enlist you for Princess Rhaena's security?" He asked. "I have been focused on the crown Prince, and given recent events in Lys would prefer a sword stay close to the princess as well."

It should be very interesting here", Arenya looked at the tall woman again in a glance,"If you find anything of note mother, I would love to see it as well." As Brandon approached Arenya greeted him, with her normal grin,"Lord Commander." "Of course, not saying that I think my niece needs it", she looked over at Rhaena,"but I will perform the duty all the same." She then glanced at the Lord Commander questioning,"Lys? What happened in Lys?" "I believe my mother's letter failed to mention any unfortunate events."

"There was a misunderstanding," Brandon replied. "Regarding how Princes, and Magisters and Lord Commanders ought to be spoken to," he said. "The matter was settled, but the Lysene kept pressing his grace. They got what one expects one one pokes a Dragon."

"I'm sure they did", she chuckled. "I'm sure you have kept both eyes trained upon him ever since."
Arenya shook her head,"Misunderstandings could be commonplace since we are out or element and do not know a lot about these lands."
She looked at him,"I am sure between the two of us and the hefty guards we have, there shall be no more", she smirked,"Without a good reason, agreed?"

"I very much doubt, daughter, that I will find anything of interest to you in the library. You were always more interested in weapons than books. As to the events in Lys, well, they happened long after the letter i wrote you."

Arenya shrugged at her mother with a childlike smile,"Can't hurt to ask, mother."
"I was actually thinking of changing my lifestyle and become a knowledgeable woman such as yourself." Then she laughed and turned her attention back to The Lord Commander. Knowing her comment was going to do one of two things, make her mother angry or make her just disappear. Arenya was hoping for the latter.

Laena swept by her daughter remarking "If you had any aptitude for my wisdom, I would have shared it with you long ago. Do not think to change things now. You chose the sword, so stick with it." She walked away.

"The Lysene may strike back from the shadows, as is their cowardly way," Brandon said, "so we must be careful."

Arenya shook her head with a smile as her mother departed, whispering to herself. "You have to love that woman... Gods only know that if she wasn't my mother where I'd be with that remark."
"I understand Lord Commander", she nodded. "It will be taken care of, afterall we are not just protecting the Crown but our family."
"Don't worry, brother."

Brandon grunted, "I would that you had showed that side of you before our Brother the King," he said.

Arenya looked at him,"My decision at that moment was made to save a life other than my own, Lord Commander."
"You won't understand and I'm not trying to make you. If I shamed you, I do apologize for that was not my intent." Her face saddened,"As I said I do not expect you to understand."
"Just know that I am glad to see you and I bare you no ill will or discourse in the decision that you made."

Brandon sighed. At moments Arenya seemed to have a makings of a true warrior. Then she'd go and say something womanly. He resigned himself never understanding.
"You have my thanks for your help with Princess Rhaena." He said before turning away.

"You have my thanks for your help with Princess Rhaena." He said before turning away. There was that tone of.... Disappointment. Since meeting Brandon Snow, she had never been more profound at such a fucking stoic man in all her life, even her father had a little give. He was a damn stone, but in all sense of him outwardly, he was a good man. "No thanks needed", she replied softly as he stepped away from her.

Rhaena touched down in volantis. In the field just outside having been feeling fine during the journey. She was surprised to see the other dragons were not there, those of Brandon and Aegon, she wanted to go in and find them, so they could get on, but waited for Laena and Arenya.

Laena arrived next, Vermilion swooping down low. Being somewhat bad-tempered, the red dragon sent a burst of flame out in front of him for his own amusement, making a handful of peasants squeal and flee.

"Remember the trouble the last fiery peasants caused us?" Rhaena asked, frowning a little. Putting a hand on Tyraxes head, and looking a bit sad for a second when he jutted his head down away from her.

"Yes. Vermilion is a grump today. Even more so than usual. He frightens the peasants because he can, I'm afraid." But Laena didn't sound sorry at all. Her dragon's crankiness rather amused her. Indeed, the dragon looked rather smug.
Laena saw Tyraxes move and sighed. "His behaviour is most odd, I must say. I have never heard of a dragon behaving in such a way."

"He and I were born together, we've always been together and he has always been foul to everyone but me. If what we think is true, then perhaps he does not like it. He is bonded with only me after all." She said, it would make some sense in her mind.

Three dragons appeared on the horizon and a short while later they landed. Brandon dismounted, and after seeing Aegon dismounted as well looked the women over.
"It seems you are hale and hearty after your adventure. I hope it was worthwhile and you bring stories to share." He said.

"Worthwhile yes," Rhaena replied, dodging to The Lord commander and smiling slightly at her betrothed. They would need to have a chat soon enough, "it is good to see the prince on his feet again"

"As it turned out it was not mere illness, but poison. An assassin dispatched by conspirators in Lys." Brandon shrugged, "they have been administered justice with the help of a Volantene fleet. And a handsome restitution was paid as well for the insult. All is well on that front."

"I would not have thought the Lyseni so foolish as to anger us a second time, in lieu of what happened the first, but I am glad that they have been dealt with. Now it seems all that is left for us to do is return back now." she glanced at Aegon again, and then back to the lord commander.

"It seemed that some among their number could not leave well enough alone," Brandon replied, "But as for the city of Lys, I think they have reestablished a respect for dragons, so we can hopefully put the whole mess behind us." He nodded respectfully, and took a step back, indicating he had nothing further to report.

"As it should be," Rhaena replied nodding in return. "In so far as we had something to look for, we were successful, as you can see we found many things that can be bought to westeros." Rhaena explained, not sure if she'd get an answer from the commander or not, but not much minding either way, "Arenya found some shipwrecked volantene sailors, we should tell tell the authorities, especially in light of the service they gave you,"
