"Are you a sorcerer?" Vira asked curiously.

Sergio looked at her, and laughed out loud. "What I do often seems magical, no matter that it is only a trick of the eye." He held out his hand, closed it, and passed one hand over the other. Then he opened it again to show a single coin. "All tricks can be explained." The coin danced along his fingers.

"Well if you are not a sorcerer, then you are either a very skilled mummer, or a priest with powers, like those of the Lord of Light," Vira said, remembering the red priestess in King's Landing. "What is the source of your knowledge?"

"What is the source of your power, Lady Vira?" Sergio asked idly. The coin disappearing into a purse on his belt.

"Well I am afraid I cannot do any magic tricks," she said playfully. "Though if you mean my power over the Ghost - I am blood of the dragon. That is my power."

"My magic comes from my blood as well, but it is not fire in my veins, but the black water of Braavosi canals. It gives me different strengths then yourself, but I have been a ghost before. Once or twice." He winks at her knowingly.

Although Vira had worked industriously to learn something of the world since her life had changed, she was nowhere near educated enough to understand the reference that Sergio had just made. So she said teasingly, "My Ghost breathes fire and flies as silent as a bat. If your powers allow you to do that, I will be very impressed indeed."

"I am curious as to what your price might be, Master Delinaal," Maekar interjected. "Were I thinking of moving on Prince Aegon's inheritance, what would the support of the Sealord gain for me?" he asked plainly.

Sergio studied Maekar closely. He stared at his face, and his chin and the throat. His fingers rose to touch his beard once, before dropping back down. "My lord, how can I quote a price when I do not even know what I am being hired for." He took a deep breath and said, "I am thinking that we are growing closer to being a place where we can trust one another completely, but we are not there yet. You ask me to speak words that would damn me for treason if I spoke them, with out first giving me good cause to believe that your course is chosen."

"You have sworn no allegiance to the King of Westeros, so you cannot commit treason against him," Maekar pointed out. "Although I imagine that would be little comfort, under the Inquisitor's knife," he conceded.
"I can never act against the King," he said slowly, his eye flicking to Vira as he spoke, and Sergio noticed that Maekar's hand tightened around hers. "But Prince Aegon would ruin this realm if he ascended to the throne, and I would act to see that it is not so. I expect the King to live a long and healthy life," he continued, and Sergio could detect the slightest hint of disappointment at that fact, "and yet he has made many enemies over the years and the world is an unpredictable place."

"Of course I understand completely. Prince Aegon is just a name to me. He has never said two words to me." Sergio replied, "It is impossible to befriend a name. You need to know a friend's heart and soul." He finished the wine with a last gulp.

"And where does your heart and soul lie?" Vira asked, squeezing Maekar's hand in return.

Sergio laughed, "That is quite the question. You wish to lay this man bare with only your tongue." He shrugged helplessly,"I suppose I will answer. I sold my soul long ago, but my heart I carry my heart right here." He tapped his chest.

"Do you think my tongue insufficient, Master Delinaal?" Vira asked, with a sly smile.

Sergio's cut quickly towards Maekar at the warm smile and he replied, "I can never truly judge a tongue until I have felt its effects. So far yours has been nothing but courteous."

"A tongue must be courteous to survive at court, Master Delinaal, a fact I am sure you well know as you are not lacking in courtesy yourself," Maekar replied, getting to his feet. "If you will excuse me for a moment, I shall be right back. Lady Vira, will you entertain our guest in my absence?" he asked, before striding out a side door of the solar.

"It is always very sweet," Vira said. "When it is in the company of a friend it trusts."
When Maekar left, she said, "Can I get you a plate of figs, Master Delinaal? Or more wine. Let us settle down more comfortably and be frank with each other." She smiled.

Sergio watched Maekar leave with a careful interest. "A fig would be greatly appreciated." He turned his attention to Vira and offered her a warm smile and spoke, "So we are to be more frank are we? Do you think he still thinks he rules this keep, my lord." Now his eyes were locked on hers as he gave her a smirk.

"Oh, Lord Maekar is quite gallant," she said lightly.
"I wonder if your many sleight of hand powers are the only tricks in your bag," Vira continued. She pour more cold white wine, and nibbled on a fig while gazing at Sergio with large, curious blue eyes. "Or if you have others."

"My lord there is a great deal more to me then there seems." Sergio replied holding her eyed with his own dark orbs. "Does he know what you plan in here? In its entirety? Or does he think every man will be overwhelmed by the deep blue oceans that are your eyes?"

"My lady," Vira said firmly but gently. "And are you suggesting that there is a divide between my vision and Lord Maekar's? If so, you are not exhibiting your famed powers to their best advantage."

"Oh no. You misunderstand me. I think his interests match your's exactly." Sergio replied and chuckled."And from his reputation that must have taken a great deal of work."

Sergio laughed to himself. He walked over and grabbed a fig. He sat and paved the fig in his mouth. He chewed slowly and asked, "have I offended you? You said to be Frank. If you prefer we can return to pleasant courtesy."

"What makes you think you've offended me?" Vira said. "On the contrary, I was waiting for you to elaborate. I had asked you to be frank, and you are far from being frank. Do the figs make you cryptic? I shall ban them forever." She smiled.
