The Hedge Knight contains part of it but it's all centred around the Seven, which would be tactless in our current circumstances. We could put our heads together and come up with a modified version.

I had one that I wrote up on LoW, which I based on the fragments we get in the Hedge Knight, and then I extrapolated from there. Basically, the Father charges you to be just, the crone charges you to be wise, etc. A different oath one for each of the Seven, based on what they represent. Then you do the annointing in oils and shit if you want to be real fancy, and you sit a vigil overnight I think.

That's essentially my idea and then we'd make up the vows relating to the gods that the Hedge Knight omitted.

I don't think so. Knights are an Andal thing. Now i know that any knight can make a knight, we don't have to go in for the anointing and the standing in the sept, and I think it would be natural that we would skip it, but I still think the oath has to be said, and it has to be the usual knightly oath. How seriously the person takes it is irrelevant.

So I found an image of Oldtown, I don't know how canon it is and it's kinda caricatured, but it was the best I could find. It appears that the city straddles the river, which I vaguely remember being indicated in the books.  |

And I believe this is a semi-canon (ie, used in some official ASOIAF merch) depiction of the Hightower itself.  Just noticed it has the faces of the Seven carved in it, just below the lighthouse beacon itself. That's pretty neat. |

I'm sorry about today folks. My interview ended up lasting 3 hours and now I'm stuck in rush hour traffic. I'll be lucky to even make it to my lecture on time.
