Baelon caught her arm as she started to walk out. "I love you too, sister. How about one last time, before we both take vows that will keep us apart?" Arenya grinned at him, touching her warn palm to his face. "I can't, Bae. I have vows and an oath to uphold soon." "I have to start now making my fucking life turn upside down for what I asked for." Her face was sad, but she smiled at him,"I even gave up Maegor for this." "I am happy for you, please be happy for me. Marry her." "Be a Lord, not a bastard."

"Listen to me, Megga," said Elsey, in a hushed voice, her face still kind, but with a solemnity in her voice. "Regardless of who you are, how little you may think you have, one day you may mean the world to someone. Don't lose heart." "I try not to. At least Arwyn has a fine husband who will keep us safe. Someone might want to marry a girl whose goodbrother is a member of the royal family," she said wistfully. "I wish I knew what love feels like." "Being closer to the royal family tends to help attract a spouse, but it is not necessarily the path to love. That is it's own, separate thing, which follows it's own whims, though can be found both in and out of marriage. It is a beautiful feeling to have, even better to share, but not without it's challenges. It is, sadly, not venerated as it should be," said Elsey, with a wistful lilt to her voice. "But, nonetheless, you seem like a very loveable girl. Charming and bright too. I do not doubt that someone will see that, no matter what your circumstances might be." Elsey smiled at Megga, patting her on the shoulder.

Visenya was pleased to hear that. "My good friend Taena had said I ought to ask you to teach me," she said, smiling innocently. She watched his face carefully as she sipped at her wine.

You deserve to be married to a nice boy." Visenya was pleased to hear that. "My good friend Taena had said I ought to ask you to teach me," she said, smiling innocently. She watched his face carefully as she sipped at her wine. He grinned. "Sweet Taena. I'm quite fond of her. It's almost a pity she's bastard born. I noticed you spent some time with her when you came hunting. I'm thankful you found a friend at court. And for her sake too. She's right, though. I'd be happy to teach you how to shoot a bow. It would be fun for both of us, I think. Say you will, my lady!"

Alas, my family is scorned by the King. If I am even permitted to marry, it will not be to he who possesses my heart." Elseyris glanced to the floor briefly, a momentary flicker of sadness on her face, but then looked back to Megga, with a quietly confident smile; "But no matter. There is more to life than marriage."

Visenya was pleased to hear that. "My good friend Taena had said I ought to ask you to teach me," she said, smiling innocently. She watched his face carefully as she sipped at her wine. Maekar approached Visenya, with Vira on his arm, in animated conversation with her. "Have you met Lady Visenya?" Visenya heard him ask as they approached. "You met her sister Elsey at the Princess' birthday a few days ago." He looked up at Aenar's daughter and smiled pleasantly. "Lady Visenya, this is Vira of Crinkley, who recently returned from Dragonstone aback the Ghost," he said, introducing them. The white dragon's arrival over King's Landing the day of Princess Daeyna's birthday party had been the talk of the city, for it was not often that strange dragons appeared in the skies bearing unknown riders on their backs.

"Very well then, Ser Jaime. We will have our archery lesson at your convenience." She giggled. "I can't help but think you and Taena are trying to set me up!"
She turned, hearing Maekar's voice, smiling at him. She gave the woman on his arm (she was low born, that was apparent in her look, even before he introduced her as from some village Visenya had never heard tell of) a once-over. "A pleasure to meet you, miss Vira," she said politely. "Yours is rather fetching as well. I heard the Ghost was a fearsome beast, much plaguing the fisherfolk around Dragonstone. I am sure they are glad you have taken him off their hands."

The King would have had Aegerys driven off, tamed or killed if he was a menace to the island's people and Dragonstone's revenues. That was how Lord Maekar tamed Cyrax, after all." Maekar chuckled dryly. "Indeed; his grace the King told me in no uncertain terms that I had better die in the attempt rather than return unsuccessful," he said. "Fortunately, I have rather a way with dragons."

(OOC: Whaaat I totally thought he'd been in the way or something. Now I look dumb IC instead of just OOC ) "Hmmm, must have been some other dragon I confused him with, then." She waved a hand dismissively. "Even so, one dragon less to cull their sheep herds...or whatever it is they herd on Dragonstone." Though flustered Visenya was determined not to let them notice, or even to show it by her expression or her manner. "Oh, have you met Ser Jaime Westerling?" She asked, suddenly remembering the westerlanders presence. "His family holds the Crag, far to the west. I hear it boasts mines second only to the Lannisters."

Maekar nodded a greeting to Ser Jamie, and shook his hand firmly. "Well met, Ser," he said, echoing Vira, although the use of 'Ser' had just the tiniest hint of mockery to it. "How did you find the capital, while we were in the south fighting the Dragonbane and his Warrior's Sons?"

Visenya rolled her eyes and cast about for someone new to talk to. Someone who was both handsome and interesting to talk to, and who did not have the tiresome whore of Crinkled Whatever on their arm. She laid eyes almost immediately upon Lord Baratheon. Visenya licked her lips. With an almost predatory grin, she bid her current companions farewell (Maekar got a brush of breast against his arm, Jaime got a nod, and Vira got a sniff of disdain) and waded through the crowd to him. "Good day to you, my lord."

Most of the Lord Paramounts had not attended the wedding, a bastard's nuptials not worth their time or travel with their lands needing tending after the recent peace. Lord Borros Baratheron, however, was the rare exception, the young Lord of the Stormlands rarely missing a proper shindig. He stood in the middle of a group of his lords, the Stormlands having made a proper showing due to their proximity.
"And that's when I bought the horse a prostitue!" he exclaimed, ending some joke or bawdy tale to the sound of raucous laughter from his banner lords, which was quickly stifled as they noticed Visenya's approach.
"Good day, my lady." he said with a bright smile and small bow, looking slightly abashed.

"Oh, don't stop on my account!" She said with a small laugh as she joined their party, smiling charmingly at all of the men. "Especially when I have been so rude as to interrupt you all."

The doors opened, and Rhaena Targaryen entered, her hair was to the side, in a loose braid, which bared the whole left side of her neck. Her dress was off the shoulder, the sleeves still adjoining the main body of it. It was a light blue, down to the grow, and fitted until it petered wider out the knees. She had a train of a sharper light blue, coming from her shoulders.which trailed on the ground behind her as she walked. This was one of the dresses she had chosen herself.
She paused after entering and looked round for somone to talk to. She spied Lord Reyne, the master of coin, and approached him.
"My lord," she said in greeting, giving an elegant curtesy in place of the bow she did in breeches,

"Is there? Then why is it that all these years we talked of finding fine husbands to keep us in the style our rank said we should be?" Megga asked Elsey. "Arwyn is ever practical. She does not love Lord Baelon, but she likes him well enough, and I am convinced that she might talk herself into loving him, one day. Leona, our next sister, is determined to marry for wealth, and Lysa is too young to think of anything except the love stories in the songs. As for me, I am determined that only love shall persuade me to marry."

Meanwhile, Ser Jaime had watched Visenya go with reluctance. He said to Maekar "I enjoyed the capital well enough. I did some fighting in the west at one time. I might have gone south, were it not for the fact that Lord Reyne asked me to remain here as part of his entourage. And besides, we needed some men to guard the capital. It's not glorious, but it is honourable."

It is lucky for his grace that he had leal servants such as yourself to protect him from the Faith Militant," he said, laughing again.

A kind heart. Integrity too - being true to one's own self is more important than marriage. I would not wish to marry someone who sought to stifle the warrior in my soul. Even though we women do not usually get a say in whom we marry, we can ensure that we do not let a man determine our identity, or our fate. Your determination does you credit, I share your wish. It seems we both seek more than mere husbands, but partners, equals."

But I am sure you will find a husband before I do, even if the king doesn't like you very much. You are still a Targaryen." Maekar laughed. "There is no cause to be rude, ser. We all do our duty as it is given to us. We cannot all be Targaryens. You'd not be half so cocky if you weren't a royal bastard and had no dragon of your own."

"Probably, though I would not mind so much if I did not. I would rather wait a long time to marry a good man, than rush to marry an unworthy one." Elseyris had been feeling anxiety creeping into her mind, and her breath was tight in her chest but managed to smile at Megga; "Still, we shall see the future soon enough. And it is easier to face life's challenges with friends."

Rhaena stared at him for a moment then broke into a well practiced smile, "Thank you, my lord, for both the praise and the congratulations. There shall rarely be a marriage so happy as that of myself and the Prince," rhaena told him, it wasn't strictly speaking a lie. "I was wondering if the King mentioned anything of any ideas that that My sister or I may have put to him?" she asked, inquiring as vaguely as possible.
