If Sarena recognised the name, her face showed no sign of it. What Sarena did recognise, however, was power. She bowed her head. "I am honoured, Your Grace, I have been made welcome in deed. It is good that a queer foreign priestess may be accepted so openly, in a place so far from home. You may know my name already but I will still give it to you, I am Sarena Vani'ani, of Bashai." "Well met," said Laena with cool courtesy. "We have always been welcoming of power, especially after so many years of war with the Citadel of Oldtown. We hope to benefit from the knowledge possessed by those such as yourself. It is my hope that Kings Landing will become a fount of knowledge, as the Citadel once was."

"I suppose so; nothing untoward has happened yet and so we can hope it stays that way," Daenya replied, scanning the hall with her eyes. "Do the two sisters seem a little... I don't know, in a strange mood to you?" At first not understanding which two sisters, Dany looked to Aenar's daughters straight next to them as inconspicuously as possible. Looking back to Daenya, she shook her head, and replied in a normal tone. "Everything seems fine, princess. I do not wish to take up all your time, however. I am sure we will talk more at the table, yes? Once everyone has finished with their congratulations," she said with a smile and touched her arm before leaving to where Rhaena was conversing with some knight she did not know, greeting them as she approached.

"Daenerys," Rhaena greeted pleasantly, face lighting up from formality as her friend approached, "Dany, this is... A" she coughed over the second syllable of his first name to cover her forgetting, "Blackwood. Ser, this is Lady Daenerys Velaryon, a friend of mine from when I fostered on Dragonstone."

"A Blackwood?" Dany inquired, turning to the knight. "Sorry, I did not quite catch your name?"

I don't doubt that there is much that may be learned from you also."

"I'm Axell Blackwood," he said. He bowed to Dany. "I am honoured to meet you, my lady. May I offer a toast? To beauty?"

"Good, I'm glad you like it. A princess is always hard to shop for. They have everything already!" Visenya joked, trying to suppress her intense feelings of anxiety. She was too strong for that, no matter what had happened. She forced herself to smile at her sister. "Oh, Elsey, you do look beautiful today." The gown did flatter her figure...since when had her sister had breasts like that? It was hard to think of her as anything other than a child, even when she knew who frequented her bed. Finally, she looked at Aegon, the smile still fixed to her face. "Cousin, so good to see you. I hope you are enjoying yourself as much as I am." Aegon coughed. "Lady Visenya. I am." He hoped he did not sound quite as awkward as he felt. He took Daenerys' presence as an opportunity and greeted her courteously, though she was soon swept away in the tides of the party. Aegon drank his wine, then turned back to his sister. "What do you plan to do, now that the war is over?"

"I am not entirely sure, brother," Daenya said, smiling at Aegon. She had felt a little abandoned all of a sudden but was sure she was just being silly. "I thought of perhaps visiting the Summer Isles, but perhaps there will be other responsibilities closer to home. And you?"

As the others wandered off, Elsey listened to Daenya & Aegon's conversation with interest;
"Why the Summer Isles, Daenya? Surely your father will never allow that!"

"Your friend is quite the charmer," she told Rhaena, and nodded at the young man, raising her own goblet of the fabled Dornish Sweetwine. "To beauty? Certainly. There is plenty of that to go around here." She took a sip and offered the cup to the princess next to her. "Try this, if you have not. It is Dornish," she added.

"He already has, though only if I am accompanied by others," Daenya said to Elsie. "As for why? Well, I have always been interested in their culture and read a lot about them. The people of the Isles interest me." She grinned.

"In fact, I will insist upon it, though not today. Today is my grandaughter's nameday. I will call upon you when I have time to do so."

"His Grace is full of surprises," said Elsey, thinking to herself that persuading the King towards her unlikely goal may not be so impossible after all. "When do you intend to go? Who is to accompany you?"

"Then when I do not know, though hopefully soon," Daenya informed her cousin. "And, well, I believe Adara would come with me, though I am not sure who else." She paused, grinned. "Perhaps you would like to come?"

She looked quizically at the goblet, which was still in her hand like an inanimate object would be, and took a small sip. Thinking it over for a second, she took another, apparently it being up to her admittedly low standards.
"I do not think men want to use their charms on me. For which I am eternally grateful."

"Perhaps you would like to come?" "Adara? Sounds like you are just looking to cause trouble!" said Elsey, playfully. "I don't know if that would be something for me, my duties lie here. For all that we are no longer at war, I do still view myself as a protector of the Realm." Her eyes unconsciously, and almost imperceptibly flickered towards Aegon for a mere fraction of a second, her perceived duty to him closer to what she meant. "May I try some of your summerwine? It sounded intriguing."

"Of course you may," Daenya said brightly, sipping at her own wine. "As for Adara... well, she can be a little strange but... she knows the culture too, it seems, so would be a valuable companion to have along. I do not intend to stay too long however."

"Then all men are fools," Ser Axell remarked. "If you will forgive me for saying so. Do you not agree, Lady Daenerys? Is the princess not beautiful?"

"I am sure that is not true about the charms," replied Daenerys, feeling smug about choosing a wine as tasty as this. In her opinion, good wines were rather hard to find. "You just have a way of deflecting them," she teased, and took back her goblet when given, smirking at Ser Axell, "Of course she is. But do not think for a moment that she thinks otherwise. Now that would be foolish."
She then looked over to the small group of people still circling Daenya. "I think I detected some awkwardness around them. Do you know what any of this might be about?" she inquired.

"Well, Elseyris is laying with my brother," she said, nodding, "or so I think. perhaps the other is jealous. Clearly the desire for the throne runs in the blood," Rhaena commented dismissively, "They would be fools to think it a possibility."
She looked up and Dany and Axell and smiled, "Of course I could be completely wrong."

Elseyris remembered something she had meant to ask Aegon last night, before things had gotten emotional and distracted. "If you'll excuse me, Princess, I should like to borrow your brother for a moment." She glanced between Daenya and Aegon, with a cheerful smile, gesturing for Aegon to walk with her.

Ser Axell looked over at Visenya with a little sigh. "And here I rather fancied my chances with Lady Visenya," he said. "But it seemed she did not share my hopes. I would not dare make advances to Princess Rhaena, of course. Perhaps Lady Daenerys will consent to console me?"

Daenerys sipped some more wine, but her eyes widened as Rhaena spoke. Even if it was true, they would have made an odd pair, she thought. "Now that is ironic." Who the king would accept as Prince Aegon's bride did not want the title, and who would have been most definitely inappropriate in his eyes, did wanted. "If any of it is even true, that is."
She opened her mouth to reply to Ser Axell's implication, but it took her a moment or two to come up with a fitting reply. "Ser Axell, such forwardness! And here I thought I would have to apologise to you later, for having to listen to our banter. Perhaps you need no consoling as of yet. If you wish, I could put in a good word for you with Lady Visenya." She winked at him.

Aegon had never been to the Summer Islands himself, but he had heard enough tales about its priestess-whores (and about Adara Dondarrion, for that matter), to doubt that it would be the best influence on Daenya. His brow furrowed to make some comment, but as it was the girl's nameday he decided to let it go. He steps aside with Elseyris. "I do not have much to say that was not said last night, Elsey. His Grace has yet to receive me."
