The red priestess entered the room, appearing almost to glide in her long, loose red dress. Shortly after, she was followed by a stately older lady in dramatic black slashed with red. The lady approached her. "You are a newcomer," she said. "You are, perchance, the new sorceress?"

Visenya arrived at the party fashionably late. She scanned the room for the flash of pink hair that was Daenya and quickly found her, though to her dismay, the princess was chatting with Aegon and Elseyris. She steeled herself, and ventured forth. "Daenya! Happy nameday, dear!" she said slightly too loudly, proffering a small box tied with a pink ribbon. Daenya turned and smiled, hugging Visenya. "Oh cousin, thank you! I am so glad you are here!" She grinned giddily and opened the box to see what was inside.

Rhaena saw Elseyris enter and gave a soft laugh, before remembering Axell was still there. She'd given up waiting for Aegon to reprimand her, either he was not going to, or the mouse hadn't told. "There are so many false gods, it is hard to keep up with them," Rhaena said, "People should open their eyes to the true gods." Axell laughed. "I care nothing for gods myself. But I wanted to be a knight. I would rather put my trust in steel and strength than in the gods. Do you not envy your sister all these fine presents? I brought her a gilded comb. Not very exciting, I know, but I am sure many others will have brought finer gifts."

Visenya watched anxiously as Daenya opened the box. She kept her eyes carefully focused on her cousin's hands as they swiftly untied the ribbon, not much feeling like meeting the eyes of Aegon, the shame of the night previous still fresh in her mind. As Daenya shed the lid off the box, revealing a vanity set of a hairbush, comb, and mirror, all made of fine silver and engraved on the back with the Targaryen three-headed dragon, she asked, "You do like them, don't you?"

Aegon smiled as Elsey approached, but his tone was professional. "Lady Elseyris," he inclined his head. As Visenya arrived, he nodded to greet her as well, perhaps with a hint of pity in his eyes.

"I will be happy to attend it, if you will have me," Daenya said, smiling now that more people were arriving. "You look very pretty, Elsie." She added. "Of course! And thank you." She glanced to her outfit, which was and elegant, well-fitted dress of olive green, a small trail of pale gold silk winding along the neckling, around the waist, and down the open, but not scandalously so, back. Although there was but a year between them, Elseyris had a more developed figure. "I never feel quite right in a frock. You look very nice though."

"Not at all," Rhaena said with a smile, "I have already received a very great gift recently, none of these can compare to," she commented, "And I am not very much interested in the giving and receiving of gifts. It is awfully self satisfying."

Visenya was too busy avoiding looking at Aegon to notice his pity nod of greeting.

"Oh, I love it, Visenya!!!" Daenya said, hugging her friend again before pulling the comb through her hair. "I will never use another!"
She then turned back to Elsie and giggled. "Thank you! I had it especially made for this day, though I fear lady Adara is going to have a dress made for me that would be quite the rival to this one!"

Daenerys entered the ballroom in a dashing deep red dress baring her shoulders. It was richly embroidered in gold around the bodice, matching the golden rings around her slender fingers, two of which had ruby stones. This time, her hair was up in an intricate bun as opposed to the usual, leaving her long neck exposed. She noticed that the princess was occupied, but would have thought it an offence to mingle with other people before congratulating her young cousin on her important day.
Her easy dancer's gait restored after months of recovery, Dany made her way over to the royals to wait for her turn. She was followed by two servants, both of them carrying heavy casks.

"Good, I'm glad you like it. A princess is always hard to shop for. They have everything already!" Visenya joked, trying to suppress her intense feelings of anxiety. She was too strong for that, no matter what had happened.
She forced herself to smile at her sister. "Oh, Elsey, you do look beautiful today." The gown did flatter her figure...since when had her sister had breasts like that? It was hard to think of her as anything other than a child, even when she knew who frequented her bed.
Finally, she looked at Aegon, the smile still fixed to her face. "Cousin, so good to see you. I hope you are enjoying yourself as much as I am."

The lady approached her. "You are a newcomer," she said. "You are, perchance, the new sorceress?" She turned her white eyes at the woman and smiled. "Of a sort," she agreed, "word travels swiftly through the keep." "Whom do I have the pleasure of being in the presence of?" she asked.

Daenya smiled thankfully and looked to Dany, grinning.
"There you are, Dany! I was beginning to think you might not come!" She gave the lady of Driftmark a hug. "How have you been?"

"It is rather difficult, especially for more soldierly types," Elsey added to Visenya's words to Daenya, with a small laugh of camaraderie towards Aegon.
"Thank you, Visenya. You do too."
Elseyris felt the tension around them, though tried to put it aside.

Dany hugged the princess and pulled back with a bright smile. "Silliness! Of course I would. I have been great, I trust you too, princess?" she inquired with a glint in her eyes as she took a step back, motioning the servants to set down the casks and take a break from their potentially back-breaking job. "May I present you Sweetwine from Dorne. It tastes wonderful, but is hard to come upon these days. I thought you might enjoy."
She looked to the others standing by. "Oh, hello, ladies. Prince."

Thank you so much, Dany," Daenya said, hugging her friend again before ordering a servant to pour the two of them a glass straight away. "You look amazing, might I say! That dress is simply gorgeous!!"

"And you," Dany replied to Elseyris in her friendly tone before turning back to the princess. "Thank you! I must say, your dress looks so lovely with your hair."
She accepted the glass and raised it. "A toast for your name day, princess."

I hope you have been made welcome." She waited to see if the woman recognised her name.

"A toast for your name day, princess." Daenya grinned and raised her glass, clinking it against Dany's before drinking. "Oh! It certainly is sweet! There is some... cinnamon in there as well?" She giggled, already a little tipsy. "I can't quite tell!"

If Sarena recognised the name, her face showed no sign of it. What Sarena did recognise, however, was power.
She bowed her head. "I am honoured, Your Grace, I have been made welcome in deed. It is good that a queer foreign priestess may be accepted so openly, in a place so far from home. You may know my name already but I will still give it to you, I am Sarena Vani'ani, of Bashai."

"Just a little, I think," said Dany after sipping from her own glass. "Be careful with it, though. It is as sweet as it is strong, but sometimes one trait makes you forget the other."

"I only know too well..." Daenya said quietly, making sure to drink slower. "It is lovely nonetheless, and I am glad to have so much of it."
She grinned at the keg. "So Dany... how have you been?" She didn't want to mention her late father but was still concerned for her friend.

"Same as the last time you asked me," replied Dany lightly, having been in a great mood the whole day, maybe even for the first time after hearing the news of her father's death. "How are the festivities? Everything going smoothly, as planned?" she asked.

"I suppose so; nothing untoward has happened yet and so we can hope it stays that way," Daenya replied, scanning the hall with her eyes. "Do the two sisters seem a little... I don't know, in a strange mood to you?"
