Kesi let his hand go.
"Sorry. Is just something that my little boy did." She said quietly. "I have not been with a child for a long time Gendry. I am having to learn again."

"What happen to your son?" He asked curiously. "How old is he?"

"Nkuku would be nine now." She said thoughtfully. "He died a long time ago though."

Gendry went quiet for a time because he didn't know what to say. After a while he shuffled his feet and said "Are you my mother now?"

Kesi glanced down at him. "I can never be replacing your mother." She said, telling herself more then him.
When Brusco got closer Kesi gave him a small smile, almost apologetic.

Brusco grinned at her.
"But...I need a mother," Gendry said. "Um...if I like it at the red house, could my friend come too? She's awful sick. She's going to die, probably, unless she gets a bed and food."

"Will you take me to her?" Kesi asked, knowing that if they waited it would most likely be too late.

Gendry nodded. "It's not far. We got a place where she sleeps. There's a blanket and she begs for coppers and food."

Kesi bit her lip and nodded, "Lead way then." She said.

He led her down a dark street, with Brusco following though not without some grumbles.
There they saw men and women coupling, which Gendry ignored, a dingy herbalist's, a pawn shop and a dingy tavern. The girl, who looked to be older than Gendry despite her stick thin body, huddled in filthy rags as she begged for a copper. She coughed loudly, her body shaking. She looked extremely sick.
"That's Rosey," he said.

Kesi didnt even have to get closer to the girl before realising that she could do nothing for her on the street.
"Brusco, can you be taking her to my room please?" She asked him. "She is needing picking up."

"It is a long way to carry child but she looks small enough," Brusco remarke. "I will do it."
Genry and Rosey had a brief conversation in whispers before the girl gave her consent to be picked up. Her bones showed as she clung to Brusco. Gendry looked at Kesi, "We follow?"

Kesi smiled, "We are needing to be led to main streets." She said. "I still am not knowing all of this city yet, I am knowing that you do."

Gendry showed them the way back to the main streets and they headed back to the Red Keep.

Kesi and Brusco arrived at near dark.
"We are needing someone." Kesi told her guard. "One that is having nobody to be living for."

"For what purpose?" He asked. "My lady, is this legal?"

Kesi shrugged.
"Purpose is being for other life. Is sacrifice that must be made." She replied.

"You have to kill someone to save that little girl? That is...strange." Brusco sounded faintly disapproving.

"She is dying. Past anything that I can be doing." Kesi said, she looked a little pained. "She needs to be surviving."
She didnt say exactly why she needed the girl to live so badly.

"So you will kill someone else to save her. Why does the other person not deserve life?"

"Be telling me Brusco. If man is near to death from something that is being pain is it not better to help it end sooner rather then let him live a life that is agony?" Kesi asked, stopping and looking at him. Under her hood her eyes looked black as the light just caught them.

"Perhaps it is better," he said. "But will a weak person be a good sacrifice?"

""Can you think of any better? I am coming here because there is no-one that I can think of not being caught by someone that is not understanding." Kesi replied.

He frowned. "Sure you don't want some criminal who has been arrested for murder?" He asked.

"Are you thinking that is better?" Kesi asked, truly not knowing of this side of Westerosi customs. "I would surely be needing to ask King for permission?"
