"Yes and no." Kesi answered. "I am having things I need to do there, so I am staying until they are being done."
She wondered why she was telling this child all this.
"I could be leaving for home but if my job is not being done then maybe a dragon would follow, I am useful to King for now."

Kesi slowly nodded.
"I am not having a son anymore." She said. "I can be caring for you."
She knew this was unwise but there was something about this child when she looked at him.

Kesi didnt react for a moment, then hugged the child back.
She knew that he was the wrong child and that it wouldnt help her at all but she still stroked his hair.
"Is being alright Jariri." She said. "I promise that will be alright."

His face was stained with tears and grime as he looked up at her. He nodded and clung to her. "Can we go now?"
She realised that he didn't quite believe her and was hanging on to make sure she kept her word.
