He finds a door that doesn't have any sound behind it but, as he starts to try the door, he hears a yell from one of the guards in the first room perhaps indicating that his allies have arrived.

With a sigh of relief, he moved towards the sound, hoping it would soon be accompanied by the sounds of battle.

He open the door in time to see that Ser Darien's men have slain the two guards. The young knight stands nearby with sword in hand while one of his men kicks the nearest corpse.
Behind him, Brandon hears a door open and men come running out. Someone orders him to halt. Helaena shrieks and clings to him in panic.

Brandon took off towards the Well entrance, "Hold them until we are clear, defend just the entrance to the well, so fewer of them can get at you at a time." he instructed, clutching the girl close.

"Yes, my lord." Ser Darien looked resolute as he stood shoulder to shoulder with his men.
Helaena looked at the knight. "Ser Darien? Did Mother send you?"
"Yes. Go with the Lord Commander, Helaena. He'll take you home safe."
She nodded and looked up at Brandon. "My father said I have an uncle who's a Lord Commander too," she confided innocently. "But I don't remember him. He lives in the big red castle."

"We should all be so lucky as to have a Lord Commander Uncle," Brandon said, with a warm smile. "You," he said, grabbing the shoulder of the most youthful looking troop with Ser Darien, "Come with me to watch the girl. The rest of you, I'll be right back."
He led the girl and the Massey man-at-arms back to the well, and began to make the climb.

Nothing happened as he climbed up. The septon waited close by, clutching a table dagger as if it were a weapon. "Thank the gods!" He cried when Brandon appeared.
The girl came next, then the guardsman.

"Hey look at me," He told the dragon, before fixing his eyes on the creature's. "The little girl. Watch her. No one hurts her. Got it?" He asked. Aerion gave a squawk.
"You two stay here." he told the septon and the man-at-arms.

Helaena looked at the dragon. "My father has a dragon too," she said. "And my sister. I might get one, one day. Can I ride him? Father lets me ride Ithilgore with him, sometimes, when he's at home." She smiled winningly.
Meanwhile, the septon and the guard nodded dutifully. "We'll stay, ser. Good luck to you," the septon replied.

"You can ride with me when I take you home," Brandon affirmed, before turning, and ducking back down the well.
He redrew his sword as he reentered the secret door, and headed towards the sound of battle.

Inside the hideout, he found the Massey men engaged in battle with thirteen Poor Fellows. Though it seemed there were more Poor Fellows than guards, it was plain that the brown-robed men had the worst of it. Three of theirs were dead and only one of the Massey men had fallen, though he was injured rather than dead.

Brandon gave a howl and, sword raised, drove himself into the melee, raining blows on any Poor Fellows in striking distance as he scanned the mass of bodies for any who looked to be their commander.

Brandon gave a howl and, sword raised, drove himself into the melee, raining blows on any Poor Fellows in striking distance as he scanned the mass of bodies for any who looked to be their commander. Round 1:Ser Brandon see three Poor Fellows on the floor dead and eight more fighting Ser Darien's men with assorted weapons, though another of them fell as soon as he took a step toward the fray. Ser Darien only had six men with him, including one who was behind the others, sitting on the ground and leaning against the wall clutching a stab-wound in his gut. One of the Poor Fellows was huge, easily six and a half feet tall and eighteen stone. He bore a massive club in one hand, which he swung viciously at Ser Darien, who was driven back quickly. The giant landed a blow on the young knight's shoulder, which is armor deflected most of but it was clear he was in pain as he moved backward to evade the next strike. The Massey men were outnumbered, but making a good show of themselves, and as Ser Brandon charged into the fray one of the Stonedance men slashed out with his shortsword, taking one of the Poor fellows across the throat and dropping him instantly, lowering their number to seven. Another of the Massey men slashed at a Poor Fellow, drawing a spray of blood but not dropping him out of the fight. On the other side of the room, two of the Poor Fellows took advantage of their numbers, and while one of them dueled with a Massey guard, the other ran him through from behind, killing him instantly. A Massey knight dueled with a Militant armored in rusted chain mail in the corner of the room, neither breaching the other's defenses, and another Massey guard drew blood from the final Poor Fellow, shoving him backward but not killing him. As Ser Brandon moved to help Ser Darien, an armored figure moved out of the shadows to his left, and he just barely parried the incoming strike. This man wielded a longsword, and his shield bore a rainbow sword as its device, marking him as one of the Warrior's Sons. He struck at Ser Brandon savagely, perhaps recognizing a Targaryen, and pushed the Lord Commander backward until he landed a light hit on the Lord Commander's left thigh, drawing some blood and impeding his motion. [Ser Brandon Snow suffers a Light Hit] [Ser Darien of Stonedance suffers a Light Hit] [5 Poor Fellows, PF Commander, Warrior's Son Left] [4 Massey Men Left]

Round 2: After being cut, Ser Brandon sidestepped deftly, wincing as his weight shifted to the bad leg, btu he was able to spin out of the man's reach momentarily. With a minor reprieve, he resumed the offensive, feinting hard and fast at the knight's unprotected right side, before swinging low to slash at the backs of his knees, which were not covered by plate but only leather. His blade felt the tug of resistance as it cut through leather and flesh, and the knight wavered, smashing Ser Brandon violently with his shield and knocking the Kingsguard backward, which was likely the only thing that prevented a killing blow.
Ser Darien manages to gain some ground against the giant Poor Fellow captain, but despite his best efforts, is not able to touch the man who uses his club to bat aside the young knight's strokes with ease. One of the Massey men swiftly runs through his own opponent and tries to attack the giant from behind, but is struck in the head by a wild swing of the club and knocked against a wall, alive but unconscious. One of the Massey guardsmen, despite facing two Poor Fellows at once, dances around the pair of them with his swords flashing, drawing blood from each. Another Poor Fellow falls with a spray of blood to one of Massey's knights, while the two men dueling in the corner of the room remain locked in combat with neither gaining the advantage.
[Ser Brandon Snow deals a Heavy Hit] [3 Massey Men, Ser Darien Stone Left] [3 Poor Fellows, PF Commander, Warrior's Son Left]

Round 3: As the Poor Fellows begin to drop, the remaining three turn tail to run, and are quickly put down by Lord Massey's remaining men, two of whom go to tend to their wounded companions. The remaining man joins Ser Darien Stone in attacking the Poor Fellow giant, and between the two of them they are finally able to bring him down, though Ser Darien suffers a dislocated shoulder and the Massey Knight has his left-arm broken in the process of doing so.
The Warrior's Son, seeing his companions fall, forces himself to his feet, and launches an attack at the Lord Commander, viciously trying to kill the Targaryen bastard. His wound hinders him, however, and Ser Brandon is able to bat aside each of his strikes, though he is not able to land any of his own in return. Ser Darien tries to get behind him, but the knight puts his back to the wall and waits for his two opponents to attack.
[2 Massey Men OK, 3 Wounded, 1 Dead, 1 Upstairs with Helaena] [11 Poor Fellows Dead, Warrior's Son Wounded]

Round 4: The Warrior's Son was good, clearly, but he could not face two opponents with such a wound, and as he tried to fight off both Ser Darien and Ser Brandon, the Lord Commander was able to eventually land a blow that sent he man sprawling across the room. He landed against one wall and slid down into a sitting position, sputtering, and slowly drowning in his own blood.

OOC: Fire and Blood!
IC: Brandon stood over the body of the Warrior's Son and after kicking his blade away, pulled the man's visor up.
"You fought well Zealot," Brandon said, holding his own wound and grimacing. "State your name so history remembers you fought valiantly."

The knight looked up at the man who had defeated him. He coughed. "Ser Markus...of...of...Ridgetown." He struggled to get the words out and they were accompanied by more coughing and spurts of blood. "End it quick."

Ser Darien looked a little shaken but he smiled at the praise. "It is I who should thank you, ser. You have most likely saved us a great deal of trouble. My lady will be most grateful. I'd not have been able to live with the shame if I couldn't bring Lady Helaena home." He looked down at his bloody sword. "It was my first battle."
