"You are not as big a fool as you pretend to be. If the King's son died by sorcery, your head would decorate a gate the next day regardless of how well you fuck him," Maekar replied. His hand fell to the hilt of his sword, and Kesi could see that he was growing impatient with her obfuscations.
"Vira, go find Master Delinaal, bring him and the children back here," he said, before turning back to Kesi. "You will test your potion on one of them before I take it, so I can be assured of your truthfulness."

"Then be telling me manner of curse." Kesi repeated, she flicked through the pages of handwritten notes.
"Is it making you swollen? Or maybe painful?"
She stopped flicking and tapped her book with her finger as she waited for a reply.

As Vira walked out of the room, leaving Kesi and Maekar alone, Maekar remained silent. "Limp," he said simply, and Kesi could hear in his voice that it was taking all of his willpower not to just kill her where she stood.

She nodded slowly and flicked a few more pages.
"Is being unfortunate." She said stopping and getting what she needed. "Please be getting plant over on window with pink flowers on." She told him.
Kesi started to shake out certain pots into the bowl, she hummed as she did it as was her custom, as she did with every potion that she made.

Maekar brought over the plant that she indicated, but he was careful not to present his back to the sorceress. He watched her carefully as he worked, not pretending to know what she was doing but still apparently interested in the process. |

Kesi took the plant and started to pick of the healthy looking leaves. She looked over when the door opened and gave a very small smile.
"Thanking you." She said to Maekar for giving her the plant and handed it back to be put where it was as she started to dice the leaves finely.
"Jariri, be coming and helping little one. Rosey, will you be boiling water for me please." She instructed the children gently, so that they were not scared of the man that had dangled the boy out of the window. She had decided that doing something familiar for them both would help more.

Maekar, to his credit, stood silently against one wall, doing his best to be unobtrusive and unthreatening. He placed the plant back in its place on the windowsill, and continued to watch Kesi work.

Gendry stayed close to Kesi, ready to do what she wanted. He kept glancing at the strangers. Rosey obediently boiled the water, but she was very pale.

Kesi stroked the boys head, and set him to measure a liquid out while she sorted something else, she started to sing a little song to both children to calm them in her language and seemed totally relaxed as she worked.
Once all was done she added everything to the pot and instructed Rosey to stir while she prepped something for the liquid.

The children did as they were told, but Kesi knew both were nervous, Gendry in particular. His hand shook when he measured the liquid, and he struggled not to spill it.

Vira watched this in quiet fascination, which she tried to conceal. As an experienced poisoner who had been trained by a woods witch, Vira couldn't help but wonder at what Kesi was using to make her potion, and how her sorcery worked. Vira had never seen magic performed before, and long-ingrained peasant superstitions warred with her intellect and better instincts as she watched Kesi in a combination of fascination and slight fear. |

Kesi finished putting everything together then put a lid on the pot before taking both children's hands and putting them back to bed without even looking at the other adults in the room. She pulled the curtain across when she went in and spoke to them both while the potion was merrily simmering away. After a few moments she returned but was frowning slightly
She went straight to the potion and started to mix it once again, this time adding a spell in high valyrian as she stirred. If it is working the mixture should thicken and become a milky white.

"You will forgive me, if I ask that Master Delinaal take a dose of this potion first, to be assured that you have told the truth," Maekar said quietly; it appeared as though he was making an effort not to disturb the children. "It was you who suggested that I test it on someone first, after all."

Kesi realises that the potion looks and smells as she wishes it to, with the perfect consistency. Bow she knows it will do as she intends.

(Ta!  ) Kesi transferred the hot mix to a small bowl that was in a tray of cold water. "Alright." She said. "This will not be curing exactly as you are wanting... I cannot be doing that right away." She glanced at Maekar before continuing. "I will be looking for proper cure when it is being less... Urgent" her eyes flicked to the curtain where she was fully aware the children were now cuddled together and certainly not sleeping. "However for tonight and until I can be doing search this will be doing." |

"Until something else can be being found it will be doing." Kesi said in agreement. She lined up some bottles for the two and carefully moved the mixture, sealing all but one with a cork and hot wax.
"Lys is being good for such things as cures... It is being where I was learning this."

Maekar eyed Kesi throughout the process, with a frown, though he nodded at the end. He motioned for the unsealed bottle to be given to Sergio. "Two drops, you said?" he asked Kesi, somewhat rhetorically. "Since you will likely be reaping the benefits of its effects, you ought not mind if Master Delinaal serves to test it?"

Sergio drinks whatever Kesi gives him to drink. Then starts coughing, and grabs his throat. His face beings to turned red, and falls to his knees. His hands grab Kesi's hips and he gasps out in broken Westerosi' "Whhhhyyy?" Then he falls over, and gives a loud death rattle.
