Kesi remained silent for the moment but she glared at Maekar for even daring to threaten the two still sleeping.
She was shaking slightly too, but from fear or anger it was hard to tell.

Maekar stared at the sorceress for a long moment, before moving to one of the cots where the children slept. He grabbed the boy by his wrist and dragged him to the window, hoisting the child easily up over the edge and dangling him out over the city below. "The truth, now, witch," he said again to Kesi, in the same quietly dangerous tone.

Sergio looked at Maekar and sighed. He shook his head slowly from back and forth, and stood up. He walked to the bed, and began to dress slowly.

Woken rather abruptly, Gendry began to scream and cry, pleading for Kesi to help him. His cries woke Rosey, who also screamed and ran towards Maekar. Throwing herself to her knees, she cried "Please! Don't hurt Gendry, m'lord! He's just a little boy who did no wrong!"

Kesi no longer saw what she was being talked about, just saw fear and pain in Gendrys face, almost identical to what had happened once before.
"Put boy back." She said, her voice was very level and seemed to be a forced, too careful tone. "Be letting Braavosi be taking them both away and I will be saying what you are wanting."

"Maekar may I speak to you in the hallway. Man to man." Sergio asked calmly.

Vira believes that Kesi is speaking in earnest in order to save the boy's life.

Maekar pulled the boy back into the room and dumped him back onto the cot. "Take the children for a short walk, Master Delinaal, I will speak with you after," he said to Sergio. "The King's sorceress will not come to harm by my hand," he added.

Sergio laughed, and nodded to himself. Then he glanced at Kesi, and reached out and squeezed her hand. He scooped up the children and walked from the room.

Kesi squeezed Sergio's hand back, then took a moment to hide whatever she was feeling from the two.
"Be having a drink." She said calmly. "Maybe we can be being calm here now."
With the children out of the room she felt much better.

Maekar glowered at her for a moment after the door shut behind the Braavosi, and slowly shook his head. "I shall have nothing, I think," he replied coldly, his eye falling on the offered drink. "Your accomplices have confessed to assisting you with what you did to me, sorceress," he lied, letting the statement hang in the air ominously.

Kesi laughed. "My accomplices?" She asked. "And who would they be being? I would like to be knowing truthfully why you would be thinking it would be worth my time to be cursing bastard? And why if I had done so I would be letting somebody else be helping me?"
She tucked her legs beneath her and sipped at her own wine that Sergio had given her, determined not to let the two see how effected she was, her face once again a cool mask.

"I have no interest in your games, witch," Maekar replied dangerously, his hand falling to the knife at his belt. It occured to Kesi that, despite his having told Sergio that she would not come to harm by his hand, Inquisitors were not always known for their truthfulness. "You do know of the Inquisitors, do you not? It is within my authority to execute traitors first, and explain my actions to the King afterwards. Your guilt has already been determined; the only question remaining is whether you will undo your hex willingly, or if I will have to... compel you to remove it," he said, in a tone that implied the latter option would be extremely unpleasant.

Kesi if anything seemed amused. She placed her glass down carefully.
"well." she said "I must be confessing that it is being hard to be undoing something when I am not knowing what is effecting you. If you are wanting to kill me then be going ahead, just be remembering that whatever it is being that you have is unlikely to be able to be being cured by anyone else in this keep"

"You know full well what I am speaking about," Maekar replied evenly. They both know that, having the King's ear as the did, Kesi herself was all but untouchable, but they both also knew that the King would not care one whit about Kesi's adopted children. "If you wish for those poxy whelps to survive this night, you will undo whatever curse you have laid upon me."

Kesi's eyes narrowed a little but her face otherwise remained unchanged.
"And which curse would I be bothering to lay on bastard?" She asked, her voice was sweet. "You touch those children and even being who you are I will be returning favours to you hundredfold. If you are thinking that I am cursing you now then be waiting until I am aiming at nobody but you."
"I am being King's servant, I am only doing job to be keeping him happy."

"Did you know that it is within my authority to strike your head from your shoulders right here, for issuing such a threat against my person? Even the fact that you are the King's whore would not save you from that fate," Maekar replied softly. "I am quite sure that he will find another when you are gone. One of the things I learned from him was the use of fire; I can make the deaths of your children last for weeks until they will think they have never known anything besides the flames. Is that what you want for them? I do not know what you have given to have done this to me, but surely it cannot be worth knowing that your children have died in screaming agony due to your actions."

"Then be taking head, if that is what you are wanting." Kesi said. She was not bothered by the threat against her own life, what he had suggested for Gendry and Rosey however she was not going to let happen.
She twisted her bracelet around her wrist, knowing full well the pain and torment of fire and what it could do to a person. The amount of times she had begged to be left to die to the woman was well past counting, even if she could remember. Her own children had died in the flames, one screaming and begging the other wordless.
"I would like to be knowing what is making you so sure that I have been doing something to you when this is being first time that we have been speaking." Though her voice was as calm as she could make it Maekar could see a touch of fear in her eyes and hatred forming for him. "Like I was saying, my job is to be serving King and making him happy, why would I be wasting my own time that I could be using for many other things to be cursing a bastard?"

"You are a witch from the east and I am certain that you have motives beyond serving the King of Westeros. Perhaps his grace is foolish enough to believe you want only to serve him, but I do not think it is so," Maekar replied, meeting Kesi's gaze evenly. He could think of no reason that the sorceress would have crossed the breadth of the known world merely to enter the service of a foreign King, unless she had some ulterior motive or hidden goal of her own. "It is my lot to eliminate threats against the Iron Throne, even from those the King does not believe to be a threat. I have given you the opportunity to undo what you have done and to face no consequnces for having done so; I will give you one final chance to do as I have asked. However if I leave this room without having been given what it is I desire, you will have condemned those children to a horrible death. I will not take pleasure in it, but that will not stay my hand; you alone can do that."

"So be telling me what I am said to have done." Kesi said. "This is being a very one sided conversation it is seeming... You are knowing what I am to have done and I am not. You are accusing me on what proof? I am not knowing why... When have I been doing anything that is being against the family of Westeros? It is being true that I am being from East but I am betting that you are not knowing why I am loyal servant now."

"Prehaps she is being in ernest when she is saying that if she is knowing what is problem she may be having way of getting round it." Kesi said. "If I am wanting to be cursing somebody then be assured they would not be walking around. And I would certainly not be doing something that would be putting suspicions on myself, are you both thinking that I am being stupid?"
Kesi sat forward a little. "You are both bursting into room in middle of night, threatening my children and accusing me without telling me what is happening. When have I ever been giving any reason for not being good to King or his family? And why would I be caring about one of his bastards if I was to be cursing his blood?"

Maekar stared at the witch for a long moment. "I require a potion to alieviate the effects of whatever curse you placed upon my manhood," Maekar growled after a long silence. "You have my sworn word that no harm will come to you or your children if you do as I command, but if I hear even the slightest hint that you have lied to me, then you and those children will envy Aenar Targaryen's death for yours and theirs will be a thousand times as painful."

"A curse on manhood." Kesi repeated. She pushed herself up. "I can be making cure for as long as you are taking potion. If it is being a curse then it is hard to be curing straight away."
She found a clean bowl and lit a few candles around so that she could see, though she lit a fair few no heat could be felt from them. She did seem slightly amused by the idea of the curse but she didnt smile at all, instead it was in her voice, her eyes still showed hatred for the man.
"You must have been annoying someone very much if you are having curse on that part. I am needing more information though."

"Why would I trust a woman in whose eyes I see my own death. I do not know why you have done this to me, but rest assured that I will find out," Maekar snapped. "Undo your curse. Now."
