"I am glad that you are thinking that Elseyris." Kesi said, with a smile herself. "But maybe it is also being a bad idea. I am not wanting people to know how I really am being on inside."

"Oh..." said Elsey, quite confused. "I think you seem like a very good person, but I suppose there are times when one should not show everything about themselves. I suppose if someone knows who you truly are, it makes it easier for them to hurt you."
Elsey trailed off, her face thoughtful.

"And you are never wanting too many to be knowing what you are capeable of." Kesi said. She smiled. "Or if you are just uttering falsehoods. But it matters not truly for it is never happening."

[ooc - no need to apologize]
"True, I was taught when I started weapons training that getting your enemy to underestimate you was a great and valuable skill, and I suppose it can work just as well off the battlefield," Elsey smiled knowingly at Kesi.
"As for falsehoods, I do not think anyone can truthfully say they have never uttered even one, but I believe in avoiding them where possible. It took me longer than most to learn the importance of tact," she said, with a self-effacing, slightly embarrassed look, glancing back down to the bowl.
"Does it need anything else?"

"Not for a day or so." Kesi answered barely looking at what Elsey had done for her.
"Getting to know enemy is being dangerous too." She said. "For getting to know them means that you are being better known at same time, and sometimes I am supposing that is not being always good."

"True. You are very wise about people. You would make a good whisperer," Elsey said, amused by the memories of pretending to be one of Lord Darklyn's whisperers, and feeling a bittersweetness at how he would call her his favourite spy. She set the bowl aside on the table, assuming it to be finished, for now.
"But... how can one know who is an enemy, since we cannot tell by looking?"

"Sometimes you can be telling if you are looking hard enough, or knowing names." Kesi said thoughtfully.

Elsey thought for a moment, straightening up in the chair and rotating her shoulders a few times.
"Have you looked closely at my brother and sister? What could you tell me about them?"

Kesi took a moment to think, whatever she knew on either of them was hidden.
"I am thinking that brother is being like great bird, he is liking to ruffle feathers and act big." She said, imagining a parrot, or perhaps even a chicken when they were bored. "And sister... I am thinking she is being bored and looking for fun."

Elsey laughed a little, imagining Rhaegar as a big, puffed up bird. In her mind was a grumpy pigeon with his face.
"He certainly does brood a lot," she said, in amusement. The amusement did not last long, as she then thought of how things had deteriorated between her siblings, and how they were soon to be separated even further.
"I'm sure they'll both be happier when they leave here. This place holds some bad memories. It might help them to be more distant from it."

Kesi gave a small smile. "Maybe it will be helping with how they are thinking of each other?" She suggested "is saying... Absence is making heart fonder? Is that being right?"

"It can do. I think it does," replied Elseyris, after a moment of thought, though also with a twinge of wistful sadness to her voice, as she thought of those of whom she was fond, but were absent.
"I also think that, perhaps, if my brother were to have a happy marriage, he might become less cold. He isolates himself a great deal, and I think that has lessened his ability to really care for anyone. I think Father's death affected him more than he lets on. I suppose that works for some people, if they are prepared to shut themselves off from feeling."

"Can only be hoping, Elseyris." Kesi said. "Shutting down is a way to go, your choice of letting life continue is being good, but you are seeming to be being hurt a lot maybe his choice of letting nothing past his wall is being right for him?"

"Yes, it certainly seems to work for him. I do sometimes wish I could do the same, but to feel nothing would be to forget joy as well as sorrow."

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
It was the hour of the wolf, only two hours before sunrise, when a series of sharp raps rang out on the door to Kesi Mendisa's guest apartments. The tri-weddings had taken place several hours earlier, and other than a few servants, the entire keep was sleeping off the revelries of the previous night.

Kesi had obviously been asleep as most people would be in that hour in the morning, her hair was in a long plait and her black robe was pulled tight to her body.
"Are you being stupid?" She asked not even bothering to check who was there. "Is there being emergency?"

Maekar shoved Kesi violently aside and strode into the room. His sword hung at his hip, and he was garbed in the black leather-and-chain of the Inquisitors, with a black cloak drawn around his shoulders. He looked over at the two children, still sleeping in their corner of the room, and turned back to Kesi. "What have you done to me, sorceress?" he snarled threateningly. "You will undo what you have done or I swear by all the gods your children will fly out that window before this night is ended."

Kesi is a little bit intimidated by Maekar, though she is not entirely cowed by his threats.

Kesi in turn looked annoyed, confused and finally settled on a slightly angry look.
"Who are you?" She asked, then saw Vira. "I am knowing you as that girl that entered with the whore but you..." She turned back to Maekar, her anger had steadily been growing. "Who in the kuzimu are you to be bursting into room of someone that has never even been speaking to you and be threatening to be harming children that are nothing? I am not knowing you why would I be doing anything to someone that I am not knowing? Are you harmed in head or something?"

Sergio walked into the chambers naked, and yawns, "Good morning all. You are being a bit loud." He walks over and pours himself a wine, and one for Kesi. He walks over hands it to her.

"You are not so stupid as to think I would believe such a pathetic lie?" Maekar asked, in a voice that grew softer, and significantly more threatening. "You have lived in this Keep for years, and there is no chance that you do not know who I am, so I will ask you one more time before you taking more drastic action; what have you done to me, witch?"

This time Kesi is definitely intimidated by Maekar.
Vira does not believe Kesi's claims, any more than Maekar does.

Sergio sat down easily, and pulled Kesi into his lap, "This is a tad rude. Barging so late." He looked back and forth, "What seems to be the problem?"

"Be silent, Delinaal," Maekar replied. "Better yet, leave here now. I have business with this witch," he said, turning his attention back to Kesi. "The truth, this time, unless these children are meaningless to you?"

Sergio looked at Maekar and said, "Silence and I are hardly friendly. I do not have much use for the bastard when my words are so full of confidence and vigor." He eyed the man, "What ever has caused you to such deadly anger? Is your life in peril?" He sipped his wine.
