"Being well enough, thanking you." Kesi answered with a smile at Gendry before she let him go to play with Rosey.
"How are you being?" She turned to look at Elseyris and gave a small smile

"Awful, if I am honest, Kesi," Elsey replied heavily. "Hobbling around with a bad ankle is tedious, and I am very drained all the time. I think it is lack of sleep. Too many things weighing on me."
Elsey's expression was sad, despite her attempt to control it.
"But I didn't come to moan at you about my problems. I was wondering if you wanted any further help with your plants. There is still some of that one I planted for you, still growing down in the dragonpit. Now that I no longer have a dragon, it is just an unused space, so I'd be happy to maintain the plant for you, and bring some to you when needed. If there is anything else you think would benefit from the environment down there, I could plant those also. You were kind enough to comfort me in my distress before, I wish to offer my assistance in return."

Gendry went to sit by Rosey's bed. The girl has seemed better since Kesi's ritual though it is clear that she is not yet fit enough to get out of bed. Kesi estimates that the girl has escaped death but will need more time to continue healing.

Kesi watched the boy go to his friend, then turned and gave Elsey a smile.
"My plants are being fine, thank you, Elseyris it is being good to be knowing that you are willing to be helping me when I am needing. There is being nothing that is needing to be done... Why do you not sit down? I am needing this to be crushed if you are feeling up to it?"
She motioned to the pestle and mortar where a few dried dark leaves poked out

"Certainly, I'd be glad to help."
Elseyris picked up the mortar & pestle, sat down, and began crushing the leaves.
"What are you making this time?"

"Nothing." Kesi answered with a smile and a shrug. "It is just being easier to store crushed leaves for when they are being needed, then having lots of same looking things lying around.
She plucked a small jar with a word in her language labelling it out and put it ready.
"Today is not being a day for making." She said. "Today is being a... a..." She struggled to find a word that fit. "Redo? day."

"Ah, I see. That makes sense. What is it you must redo?"

"Be making the same as what I have been using before. Making sure that all is there for when I am needing it." Kesi answered, she sat opposite and started to pluck the petals off of a small yellow flower. She shrugged. "I am sorry I am knowing that word is not being right one."

"It's alright, I think I know what you mean, though I'm not sure of a better word myself," replied Elseyris, smiling kindly at Kesi, then glancing towards where Gendry sat with Rosey.
"Is she getting any better?"

"A little." Kesi smiled. "It is still going to be taking time, but she is being much better then she was being. She is not being so likely as to die now."
"Words are being strange I am thinking. Sometimes there are being too many and sometimes not being enough." She said thoughtfully after a moment. "When I was learning tongue I was being confused badly. Sometimes still am being."

"I am glad she is improving," said Elseyris, smiling over at Rosey.
"Words can be strange, yes. Some things are very difficult to describe. You have always seemed to do fine to me though. Are there particular ones that confuse you? Perhaps I might be of assistance?"

"There are many that are confusing me." Kesi said with a small smile. "It is more being in the moment that I am struggling. When I am wanting to describe something that I am not being sure of."
She leaned back in her seat and grinned. "It would be being easier if everyone was learning Qartheen. I would be being able to have conversation properly then."

Elsey smiled and nodded in understanding.
"Would that we all could speak one another's languages. I take it that you do not have other Qartheen friends around here?"

Kesi laughed.
"There are being no others from my home here." She said. "My friends of home are being much to smart to be coming to this place. Was only being me who was not listening to tales of dragons running around." She smiled and it was unclear if she was being serious or not.
"I am going to be teaching Gendry and Rosey to be speaking with me like home. I am wanting best for them, maybe one day I can be sending them to friends I have still there."

"Perhaps they were less brave, rather than smarter," said Elsey, with a playful wink. "You don't seem to be being troubled by any dragons so far, perhaps you are too fearsome for them."
Elsey started scooping the finely ground leaves into the contained Kesi had set out for them.
"It speaks so well of you that you want the best for the little ones. More people should be as caring as you. Would you go with them, back to Qarth, once they learned enough, or would you stay here? Would it be for them to obtain a Master, as you did?"

Kesi stayed quiet a moment as she thought of her response.
"They will not be being accepted by warlocks." She said. "I was being baby, just hours old when my fate was chosen. They are being old for being accepted, and they are not of right origins. It is depending when it is being time for them to be going, and if they are wanting to. I cannot be forcing them if they are not wanting."

"Ah, of course, I understand. Well, I am sure that, with your guidance, they will find good paths in life. You clearly care well for them."
Elseyris held up the mortar & pestle a little;
"Is there anything else to be crushed?"

Kesi pushed the little pile of petals towards Elseyris and took the pot of leaves.
"I am trying to, but I can only be doing so much." Kesi said, glancing at the two. It was clear that she was fond of them both now. "If you could be seeing them Lady Elseyris you would have been crying."

Elseyris scooped the petals into the mortar and began to break them up with the pestle;
"I have no doubt I would, yes. If only we could save them all, but, as you say, each of us is only one person."
Elsey reached out to give Kesi's arm a reassuring squeeze;
"I know I am not terribly mobile at the moment, but if I can help in any way, I will. Just say what you need."

"I am needing nothing, truly." Kesi said with a smile. "That what I am wanting I am doubting that you can be doing for me." She didnt look at Trajen but her eyes seemed to flick in his direction.
"It is not being seemly for lady like you to be going to Flea's Bottom to be getting crowns servant ingredients."

"Perhaps not, but I would happily look after the children while you are away in future, if that would be helpful."

"Maybe." Kesi said. "But you should be looking at own family, Lady."
She sighed lightly and pulled a bowl filled with a powder towards her. She started to break up the lumps that had formed.
"Gendry and Rosey are being mine to care for, as if they were own children."

"My own family?"
Elsey was confused.
"Do you mean my Mother, and my siblings?"

"Do you not look after them?" Kesi asked, her eyes were on her work. "Family is being important after all."

"They are very important to me, and I suppose I try hard to be good to them and show them I love them, but I would not say I look after them in the way that you look after Rosey and Gendry. They are more independent. My brother and sister quarrel a lot too, so it is hard to make things as good as they should be. I accidentally upset my sister recently too, and while she says she forgives me, I worry that something has been irreparably broken between us. I wish I could just make us all happy again."
Elsey gazed sadly down into the mortar at the petals, mashed up and broken.
