Aemon chuckles slightly as he stands, favoring his cut leg slightly. "It is at that, no thanks to that squire." He says with a grin, looking back at the lad still sprawled out on the ground.

Sheathing her sword, she looked past him at the unconscious boy, she laughed,"Oh wee lamb. Get him some help, Aemon."
"I am glad that you did stop him though, if you hadn't I would have failed."
"SO you helped me twice."

Aemon smiles, "I am to please dear sister. Now I believe you have a dragon to defend, and I have two injuries to take care of." He says with a laugh as he tears a bit of cloth away from his tunic and wraps it a couple times around his leg to stop the bleeding. He then moves to collect the unconscious squire and throws the boy over his shoulder like a sack of flour.

Ser Jon waited in increasing impatience.

"I was brought up by a follower of the Seven," Danenerys replied, although Lady Myrcella had never been overly religious and most of the servants had been followers of the Valyrian gods, as chosen by Lord Edric. "You see me now," she said with a small smile, as if that was just as good. "When are you going to the Reach?" "Soon," Aegon answered. "As soon as I can round up enough dragons." He gave Dany a speculative look, as if something had just occurred to him. "Have you been to war before?" "No.." she replied, sensing where this was going. "Do you think it is time I went to one?"

Arenya looking at him. Her grin mischievious in nature,"Can I help you Ser Jon?"

"Indeed you can. I thought the challenge was to leave the bloody thing here and you defend it from all comers, not hide it away? Skulking is not the act of the knight. We fight with honour." Ser Jon's face was twisted in contempt of the woman who thought she was a knight.

"I was told to defend it", she grinned. "He didn't say how. I was told that if it was returned to him by anyone I would fail."
"I'm protecting my charge, isn't that what Kingsguard do, protect their charges?" Arenya looked at him,"No matter how it's done as long as they are safe."
"Isn't that what is done for my family? You protect us no matter how it is done?" then she looked questionably,"And speaking of your challenge, you can't attack a member of the Royal family. Even if it is for sparring..."
"Correct? If that is so your challenge to me is voided."

"I believe we can dispense with that rule. The challenge is offered to all comers, regardless of rank or status. Our first charge as knights of the Kingsguard is to defend the king. With respect, my lady, you are not the king. I must be sure that His Grace has the best possible protection. If you can defeat me, well, I shall have to concede that you are a worthy protector for the king. If not...well, it will show that women are not meant to be knights..." He smirked

Arenya looked at him, she smirked as well. He was a pompous man, full of his Andal pride. He only viewed her as being as most women in their culture, only good enough to be treated as property. Something beneath his so called honor status. She looked down at her sword, then back at him,"Well we can despense with the pleasantries."
"If you this is what you want to prove", she dropped her helm, staring at him,"then so be it."

"It is my duty," he insisted. "I think I know rather more about the Kingsguard than you, my lady."
He readied himself to fight, hoping someone would try to steal the dragon while she was otherwise occupied.

Arenya looked at him, not knowing his skills or his tactics. She had used her brain earlier, but she thinks she may need to again against the knight.

As Arenya circled the White Knight, keeping the dragon toy on its post visible out of the corner of her eye, Ser Jon spun his blades lazily though the air in anticipation of her attack. This time, she held back, waiting for the other man to strike first, and eventually Gaunt's impatience got the better of him. He surged forward, launching a flurry of blows at Arenya's unprotected left side. She deftly blocked all but one, which glanced harmlessly off her shoulderplates. The Knight looked somewhat surprised that she had weathered his first series of blows and struck again, the clang of swords echoing throughout the bailey. One one particularly savage overhand blow, Arenya caught his blade on hers and for a moment the pair of them were engaged in a contest of strength, pushing against the other with all their might, before the Princess was forced backwards a few steps.
Ser Jon Gaunt sprang forward again, and once again the Princess caught his blade with hers. This time, however, the Knight of the Kingsguard made a deft motion with his wrist that Arenya did not quite see, and his sword spun in such a way that it yanked Arenya's own sword out of her hand and sent it flying across the yard. Ser Jon pointed his sword at the now-unarmed woman. "Do you yield?" he asked, while his left hand siezed the toy dragon from off its post.

"No.." she replied, sensing where this was going. "Do you think it is time I went to one?" "I will not lie to you, Daenerys. It will be dangerous and bloody. There is no safe return guaranteed for those who go," Aegon said solemnly. "But that means we will have need of every dragon we can muster. I would not ask a girl unknown to combat to go, but you are a woman grown with a sword on your hip. Will you fly to war with me?"

Dany bit her lip, thinking. The main reason she had left Westeros two years ago was so she could be spared from the carnage, and she had spent her whole life avoiding confrontations while not being overly useful to her house, or to the crown. And this was the future king of Westeros, asking her to own up. Upon that realization, she looked the prince in the eye and nodded.
"I will, cousin. If my part in this will help bring peace, then it is clearly the right thing to do," she said, and offered him a small reassuring smile.

Aegon's returning smile was genuine. "It will. We must end this war before we have chance at peace. We assemble in the field outside King's Landing at first light tomorrow," Aegon told her. "And I'm glad you'll be there, Dany."

First light tomorrow was a little earlier than Dany had anticipated and her eyes widened a little. "That is.. I should go get ready, then." Perhaps she would have time for a spar later in the evening, but there were some people she wanted to say goodbye to, and she had a letter to home to write now.
Having already turned to leave, Daenerys looked back to the prince as if remembering something crucial. "Had it been anyone other than you, asking me to go, I would have said no," she admitted with a slight smile. "Until then, my prince." With that, she left the yard.

After seizing the dragon, Ser Jon bowed to Arenya. "Good evening to you, my lady" He started to stroll away in the direction of White Sword Tower, though he was cocky enough not to run.
Arenya realised she was not alone. A young squire bowed to her. "My lady, I brought you water in case you have a thirst. Can I fetch you food, or anything else?"

Arenya felt her blood boil slightly, in her mind she wanted to throw her sword and catch him square in the back so that the blade would be protruding from his chest, but she knew better. She looked at the squire and smirked taking the water,"Yes, yes you can.."
"You see that knight there", she pointed at Ser Jon,"He has something that belongs to me and it's very, very important that I get it back", she smiled at him. "Follow him and get it back for me and I will reward you." Arenya looked him in the eye with a smile,"Can you do that for me?"

Aegon smiled wistfully as she left. He had taken to the hard repetition of the yard to work out the knots of anger which always seemed to plague him following conversations with his father. But Dany had done more to ease it with a sentence than had an hour with the throwing axes. He collected his axes and left the yard. He still had one stop left before night fell.

The boy looked at her in surprise as Ser Jon, probably trying to provoke her, whistled 'The Bear and the Maiden Fair.'
"I can do that. But what's my reward?"

Arenya smilled, nodding. She reached into a small pouch she had brought out with her and pulled out a gold dragon for the boy,"... This..."
"Now hurry up, but don't let him see you. Okay?"

The boy grinned. "What's to stop me from taking it to the Lord Commander? I can read the sign." He pointed at it. "That says four...no five hundred gold. I want that. Or a horse. The sign says I can have a horse if I want." It seemed he had misread the sign slightly, but Arenya knew that some noble lords and ladies didn't trouble to give their children extensive reading lessons.
Ser Jon was some distance ahead but had stopped to talk to someone else. Arenya saw him holding the dragon up and gesturing in her direction. It looked like he was boasting about his triumph.
