Elseyris suppressed an urge to wrinkle her nose at his drippingly honeyed words.
"You flatter me, Sir. Might I ask the nature of your duty? We have never seen you before. Are you a knight?"

"I'm a knight, aye, but it was a battlefield knighthood. We don't worship the Seven at Raventree. Our gods are the old Gods of the North, so we don't have knights very often, because we don't believe in standing vigils or being anointed with oils," Axell explained. "I'm a warrior, though. Helped the Westermen fight the Faith Militant at Lannisport. Aye, and some other battles besides."

Please excuse me." She glanced towards her sister with a hint of concern, but it was ultimately none of her business if Visenya was interested in this man. Before stepping away, she turned to Aegon, gently grasping his arm; "It was lovely speaking to you too, Cousin. Perhaps we might speak again later, I'd love to hear some of your tales of glorious battle." She gave his arm a friendly squeeze, then made her way over to where she saw her uncle Maelys. "Greetings, Uncle. How are you enjoying the festivities?"

He exclaimed as the girl approached, he had grown fond of Aenar's children after taking some turning watching over them. "Not much, I was on duty some minutes ago... And you, darling? I see you were having a nice conversation your cousin..." He smiled his old tired smile.

She embraced him with a smile; "Yes, we were talking about how strange the Tyroshi look, and how the war was going. I don't think Aemy or Aranya were happy about us talking though. The Tyroshi Ambassador is pleasant and charming, Daenya and I will be taking him to see our dragons sometime. Daenya is also having a friendly duel with one of the Ambassador's retinue tomorrow, and Visenya seems to have attracted the attention of a Northman." Elseyris giggled; "But, other than that, nothing much happening."

Daenya, after having sobered up a little again, approached her brother Trajan.
"Brother, would it insult you if I told you you cut a dashing figure?" She smiled brightly.

"Strange? I was thinking of getting a green mustache myself!" Maelys said with a sarcastic dismay, plucking the hairs of his mustache. The after a moments of silence he released chuckle.
"You say your sister has been talking with a northman, huh?" His laugh turned to a frown, he was sometimes a bit over-protective towards the girls. "He isn't crossing any boundries with her, is he?"

Daenerys entered the Great Hall, having left Mith at the Dragonpit since she was planning to stay longer than a day this time. Wearing a deep red dress, its bodice embroidered with gold, the heir to Driftmark stood in the doorway for a moment or two. The last time she had been here, two Targaryens and a dragon had died in gruesome ways. Upon noticing Lord Velaryon, Dany swiftly made her way over. "Father!" she called with a bright smile.

As was typical for the Knight Inquisitor, Trajan had stuck to the outskirts of the party, observing the guests mill about in silence.
"Would it insult you if I told you that subtlety is not your strong suit?" he asked, looking at his sister with the same razor thin smile he always wore. "What is it you wish of me?""

Lord Velaryon had been speaking with Adara Dondarrion when his daughter approached, his violet eyes lighting up with joy as he saw her.
"Daenerys!" he exclaimed, embracing her fondly. "How was Braavos? You must tell me of your travels, my sea flower."

"I was making a joke, brother! You're always far too serious," Daenya said with a cheerful laugh. "I just wanted to say hello, is all. Although I do have a question concerning... martial matters."

The representative from the Iron Bank of Braavos, who had arrived with much less fanfare than the Tyroshi, returned to the feast hall after the meeting with His Grace.
He had a dour expression that looked to have been carved of marble. He was a tall, gaunt stick of a man with long legs. He had a narrow face, that looked to have been freshly shaved. The banker wears robes of a sober purple trimmed with ermine and a high stiff collar, a brimless three-tiered hat of purple felt under one arm.

For a moment a perturbed look crossed Daenya's face, though she was able to force it away. "I have agreed to train with one of the Tyroshi tomorrow and was just wondering if you perhaps had any tips for me. He wields one of those big scimitars." She nodded towards Valio.

"And you think the knowledge of my craft can be freely acquired? Before I worked for father, I worked for coin or favors." he reminded. "If I have given a man enough time to draw his blade, I have made a mistake somewhere along the line."

Daenya took a step back, her eyes sad. "No need to be so hostile, brother. I am not trying to glean some deep secret from you. Apologies." She gave a small curtsy and walked off.

I only regret I could not see you there myself." Lord Edric replied, before motioning to Adara. "Have you met your cousin from Blackhaven? Adara, this is my daughter and heir Daenerys."

Adara looked over at Daeny with a curious expression. It was very noticeable that of all the ladies, Adara's dress was the most revealing. The cloth was very flimsy, almost see through and the neckline almost immodestly low. It also had slits up the sides so her legs could be seen when she walked. Yet she smiled at Dany in a friendly enough manner.
"Lady Daenerys. Your father has always been kind to me when I have been here at court."
Her tone implied that Lord Velaryon had been more than kind and so did the lingering look she gave him.

Perhaps we just embarrassed them by interrupting." Her brow furrowed, and she looked earnestly into her uncle's kind face. "It is getting to be time for people to ask questions about what will happen to us, isn't it, Uncle? Mother keeps talking about marriage, and I know she's hinting at us."

Maybe we will fly together sometime?" Aegon knew full well that none of Aenar's brood was allowed to fly unchaperoned, and that was at least one small kindness he could provide. He lets the girl go before turning back towards the others. "And why is it you are at court rather than in the field, Ser?" Aegon asks the Riverlander, still standoffish. Aegon was not in the field presently either, of course, but he could have hardly ignored a royal summons from his father.

"Have you ever considered that perhaps the dragon is who you were meant to be and this meek shell is the disease?" he prodded.

"I'll talk to her later to sort this out..." Maelys snorted, he sometimes had a little jealousy crisis with the girls, but at the same time he knew they were growing and that would come to happen eventually. "So... How was the conversation with Aegon? Was he trying to convert you to his new faith?" He smiled jokingly, and gave her a teasing punch on the shoulder.
