"I would be glad to dance with you, cousin, soldier's feet and all." She tyrned back to Axell and gave him a polite nod. "It was a pleasure to meet you, and to hear of the old gods of this land. Safe travels to you." "Now," she began again, turning her eyes upon Aegon. "shall we?" As they headed toward the dance floor, she added, "It is very humble of you to be reticent of your victories, but I don't find it to be bragging to share a tale or two. If you do not wish to tell, you are welcome to your silence. I merely wish to assure you that I for one will not find you a braggart." "Ah," Aegon chuckles, "If you insist, I would not want to be a bore." The prince took her hand with his, then placed his other hand on the small of his back and began guiding her through the steps of the dance. True to his word, his footwork was not incredibly graceful, but his hands were sure and firm. "This one," Aegon removes his hand for a moment to roll his sleeve, revealing a long scar on his forearm, "I got at the Battle of Dawn Hill, not far from Sarsfield. I swear the man was past seven feet tall, with no armor but a star cut into his chest. He shattered my shield with one stroke, but I felled him soon after."

"That is correct. Well met, Lord Baelor," said Dany, recognising the man by his name as Aenar's brother. "I guess you two get along well, then?" she asked, looking from her father to Baelor. "I would like to think so, Uncle," Baelor says with a bemused smirk, "If we didn't, then I worry about all of my dark secrets that I've told you over the past two years." He took a sip of his wine and fully stepped into the circle, putting some space between Adara and himself. Fortunately for Baelor, Adara was soon approached by someone else and so it didn't much matter that he wanted nothing to do with her. Daenya spotted Adara Dondarrion and decided to speak with the woman, getting a glass of wine on the way. She had heard many rumours about the woman but, never having met her before, wanted to make up her own mind. "Good evening, my lady," She said with a smile and a curtsy. "May I compliment you on your dress? It is very pretty." Adara disengaged herself from the others and smiled at Daenya, though she didn't quite mean it. She wasn't much interested in young girls she couldn't chase men with. "Thank you. So is yours. I saw you flirting with some boy with purple hair earlier. Do you like the Tyroshi looks?"

"Well, he winked at me so I thought I would introduce myself... he seemed very cocksure, I supposed. As for the hair... it is... strange."

"It has to be done," the Grand Maester pointed out, "We have to put on a show for our guests, else they will think us niggardly. But it is our duty to be here, like it or not, and so we are. Take comfort in that, my prince. Have you met our guests yet?" "Not actually... I just arrived and was talking with little Ellie, haven't got the oportunity. But I will soon." Not that he was making any effort to meet any of those paid rapists that called themselves warriors, but he forced a smile. "First I needed to ask you a favor... Could you spare a maester for the Orphanage for some days? Little Jon really bad from his guts, Blonde Annie got a cut her left feet deep the maids have bandaged it but I fear it might infect... And lots of other problems as always." His smile faded into dismay.

The conversation was taking a turn that Elseyris liked, and his wink made her grin wickedly. "I must agree, so does that make us mercenary, or just desperate? What do the whispers tell you about the war?" "It makes us not so different than our enemies, knowing our only options are victory or ruin." Lord Darklyn said, learning some time ago to just be frank with the glorified hostage. "The Faith still holds Oldtown and the Arbor, as well as the love of the people. The High Septon gives them faith that heaven awaits them and the High Marshal belief that dragons can fall." "All Gods give faith though, surely? Why are The Seven any better? Why do the people dislike us?"

It will most likely end with bloodshed, since I have two left feet."

"Of all the faults mere mortals possess, the inability to change is his most glaring. I would not expect someone that is more god than man to understand."

Edric said with a sly smile. "Perhaps she can lead you in the steps."

"How very noble of you to ask my father instead of me. Is that how it used to work here? I have almost forgot; the men at Braavos hardly ever bother with courtesies, they just pull you to the dance floor," she said, smirking.

Letting her lead and moving slowly through the rudimentary steps he was forced to learn when he was younger, Baelor cast a brief glance back at Edric. "Well, I respect your father, so it was the least that I could do. Furthermore, the two of you looked like you were having a bit of... trouble with Adara." That particular cousin was notorious for being almost stupidly promiscuous, something that Baelor was as well... but at least he was discreet about it more often than not. "Nevertheless, thank you for accepting my invitation, Dany."

Adara was still wondering if Tyroshi men died all their body hair but even she was not so foolish as to say that in front of Daenya. "Did you kiss him? I hear Tyroshi are good at kissing.2

"Oh, I'm sorry... Everyone tells me I ask too many questions," she said, her face tinged with worry, as her fingers found the small dragon tooth, hung on a silver chain around her neck, and she clasped her hand around it. "Do you enjoy these parties? They seem to me like an acting competition."

"I have always been a fan of mummers, since I was a little boy." he said warmly. "They are a distraction from the troubles of life."

"Black is one of the Darklyn colors, so I have been wearing it since I was a babe." he said with an other wink. "I am sure I was struck a somber visage in my swaddling clothes."
"I have seen a dancing bear once or twice, though they pale in comparison to their kin that juggle." he added, in a tone that left her unsure whether he was jesting or not.

The only thing can do is to raise the taxes, and that's not much of a help." He chuckled sadly. "This war needs to end... Any word from Maekar in the South?"

"There have been no ravens lately, so I imagine not. I have seen no riders. You are right, the war needs to end. I miss Oldtown. The sun, the Honeywine river, the companionship of my fellows. I have not seen many of them since this war began." The old man sighed with regret. "Perhaps you are right, my lord. Yet I cannot help but wish there were more funds to take care of the unfortunate. Many women have been left without a father or husband to provide for them."

"Would you like to dye your hair, princess?" Daenya took another sip from her wine and blinked, a smirk appearing on her face. She drank deeply and set the empty glass down. "Dye my hair? Why not, could be exciting. What colour though?" She met the eyes of a passing handsome servant and gave him a lascivious smile, biting her lower lip.

Adara winked at the servant too, quite annoyed that so young a girl was stepping in her territory. But she turned back with another false smile.
"How about...pink. Really bright pink. That would be good, wouldn't it?"
