Ser Jaecarys arrives first of the trio, dressed in a bit finer attire than he had on when he presented himself at court. He waits outside the room to be led inside before the Queen by some servant.

The Master of Laws is chronically late, and arrives after Jacaerys, bowing to the Queen and taking a seat.

When the two arrived they were offered water and wine as they sat.
"I do not imagine why I have called you here, but I will be brief, Dorne has been more active lately, and they need to be reminded to keep down and that any serious action will not be tolerated, that we are willing to step up and take them on if they persist and that they are only allowed to keep their independance, because they have previously been unworthy of consideration."

Prince Lucerys Targaryen nodded. "Your grace suspects they might be moving against Yronwood? It is only natural they should want to retake it, though a direct assault from the south would be suicide, even without our dragons present," he said. "If it is your grace's wish that I fly to Yronwood with Baelon's lad here, we serve at the Queen's pleasure, of course. It'll be a shame to miss the festival though," he added somewhat wistfully. Lucerys had been a renowned jouster in his youth and though he did not compete in tournaments often since gaining his seat on Rhaena's council he still loved to watch (and gamble on) the competitions.

Jaecarys had taken the offered wine, not wanting to appear weak in front of the Queen by choosing the prefered drink of water instead, and sat sipping on it. He took in the words of both the Queen and the Master of Laws, people with all experience that he didn't have, mostly just thankful that he had been called upon.
"Both I and Aquxax would be honored to serve Your Grace by going to Yronwood." he said with a nod, not knowing exactly what else he could add to the conversation since he didn't really have that much experience.

"There will be other festivals, and more Tournements for you to go with, but they will be a lot less interesting if we're fighting the dornish and having to direct funds there away from the fun," Rhaena said, "if the Dornish take small bites and we do nothing, it will encourage them to take bigger ones."
Rhaena turned her attention to Jaecarys, and nodded her approval, "when you get to yronwood, you may need to spread out to the other marcher houses, the border is not only at Yronwood. It is likely you will have to do nothing, but if would rather you go and need to do nothing, than do not and sit at the tourney and be needed,"

Lucerys nodded. "Yronwood is the most likely target to attack, though I would send a dragon to Nightsong as well; there is also a matter of its Recency. Lady Caron will need a new husband, someone loyal to the crown; command of such an important strategic position cannot be entrusted to the care of an infant," he said. He did not have to mention that he had been widowed for some time, and was no longer a Lord, having abdicated his seat on Dragonstone to his eldest son several years ago.

"I still need to decide on who I shall suggest as The. Lord protector of Nightsong, Lord Tyrell suggested his brother, Ser Garen." She said, watching Lucerys reaction. "I am considering it."

Rhaena could see the Master of Laws' jaw clench tightly, the tendons in his neck standing out. "If your grace this that is for the best," he said stiffly, after a moment. "Perhaps Ser Garen can bring some of his brother's knights to hold Nightsong, and we can concentrate our dragons at Yronwood against the assault, if it comes."

"If you have another candidate in mind, Prince Lucerys, I am, also open to other suggestions," she said, "but keep in mind, The Lord protector would need to stay at Nightsong as it is so prone to attack, they cannot be like other lords and stay in the capital doing other things, for instance, if a member of the small council wished it, they would likely have to relinquish their seat."

Daemon listened, taking in the information. He wanted to aid his mother, but he still felt he was not ready yet even if he did have a strong dragon. In any case, if he was needed he would still go.

"I am well aware of the duties that would face the Lord of Nightsong, your grace," Lucerys replied dryly. "I am also aware of how well Ser Garen Tyrell handled the wardship and squireship of your grace's son, Prince Maegor, and and how pleased your grace was with his service in that area," he added with a deadpan expression.
"My son Ser Laenor is yet unwed, and has commanded the City Watch admirably in the two years since his appointment. He is quite capable of securing your grace's southern border against the Dornish."

"Would he be interested in taking up the role? His good service makes me not wish to replace him. As master of laws, can you suggest a good replacement?"

"Ser Dustin Blake is the senior-most of the Gate Captains, he has held the Gate of the Gods since the second year of your grace's reign; he would make a fine Commander of the Watch," Lucerys replied.

"You have my leave to offer up Ser Laeron to Lady Caron, I shall write up a sealed letter of recommendation to her." Rhaena replied, she would rather someone of her own blood there, even if night song was just being used as a pissing contest between Tyrell and Lucerys.

"As you say, your grace," Lucerys replied evenly, before turning his attention to Daemon and Jacaerys. "We leave tomorrow at first light, lads. It'll take about a day and a half to fly, and if we push throughout he night we'll arrive at Yronwood by sundown on the second, just as the festival starts here. Is that acceptable, your grace?" he asked, looking back to the Queen.

Jaecarys added a nod toward the Master of Laws as a response to the man's orders.
"Me and Aquxax will be ready as well, Prince Lucerys." he added quickly.

"Yes," Rhaena said to Lucerys, not bothering commenting about the jibe again about ther festival, she honestly did not see what the problem was missing one festival. It is not like they rid kit gave many others during the year.
