Daenya made her way up to the tent, her face a mask of calm. She spared a short glance to the two men who had died so she could get what she want, little remorse left. When Borros spole, she nodded.
"That should give us plenty of time," She said, leaning down to rip some cloth from one of the downed men's cloaks. "Shall we go see if my dear cousin is awake?" She asked with a smile, before entering the tent.

Baratheon followed close behind, as well as Lord Connington, with the remaining men keeping watch outside.

Rhaegar had been sleeping fitfully as his leg pained him. His eyes snapped open in the dark as he heard the rustling of the tent opening.
"Who is it?" he asked uncertainly in a tired voice.

"Your cousin," Daenya said quietly, positioning herself in the middle of the room. "Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you were you lie, unarmed."

Rhaegar's eyes were becoming accustomed to the light and he could see three figures silhouetted against the faint light of glowing campfires. He could not clearly see the other two.
"It takes three of you to kill an unarmed, injured man?" he asked wearily.

"No, just me," Daenya replied with a small shake of her head. "But your guards needed taking care of."
She held the piece of cloth out for either Baratheon or Connington. "Would either of you mind putting this over Prince Rhaegar's mouth?"

"You're going to let her kill me in cold blood?" asked Rhaegar somewhat incredulously to Baratheon. "I am the King's brother by marriage. I stormed the walls at Oldtown against the Faith Militant. King Maekar will need every dragon-rider and general with experience he can get, to win this war. I am both of those."

"Amusing that now you call him the king." Lord Baratheon chuckled, looking at his Dornish garb with derision. "You dress like a Dornishman, talk a Dornishman, and do the bidding of Dornishmen. Why would I want to fight beside you and why would I have any misgivings about the prospect of your death?"

"He is Sarella's man, a man of Dorne," Daenya offered in a soft voice. "He spoke an oath to the Princess of Dorne and has done all to disconnect himself from house Targaryen."
A crooked smile appeared on her face. "And even if he betrays Sarella; that just paints him as a traitor. One who will back-stab Maekar the moment he gets a chance."

"I surrendered to my sister Visenya the Queen and acknowledged her as Queen in doing so. You saw me, heard me do that." said Rhaegar.
"Who is more likely to be loyal to King Maekar - a man whose sister is his lawful wife and queen, or a woman whose mother met her death at the hands of King Maekar?" he asked Baratheon rhetorically, as if the answer was obvious.
"I fled to Dorne because my life was in danger in Kings Landing from this woman's father. That danger is no more. Dorne was the only place I could go - the only place that might have accepted me. I returned my widowed mother to her kin as I had promised. My grandfather hated Sarella - he told me that on a number of occasions. She hates Targaryens, my grandfather did not. And.... and....he and I became close." he said softly.
He swallowed. "I have Baratheon blood also my lord, as well as Dornish. As does my sister the Queen. I will serve King Maekar and my sister well - as dragon rider, as general or even as a simple soldier. I have fought in battle bravely against both man and beast. I will help King Maekar win this war. Whatever the King requires."

"And you spat that Baratheon blood in my face when you stood side by side with the Dornish, cousin." Borros replied coldly, unmoved. "Do not appeal to that to save yourself."
"Lord Yronwood received exactly what he deserved and your mother will as well when the Bloody Gate is breached." he added with a sly smile. "But that will be a story for another evening. I think this night would be perfect for a stroll."
Lord Connington and two of the guardsmen approached to pin down Rhaegar and gag him with the bloody piece of cloth.

Daenya placed a hand on the pommel of her sword and watched as Rhaegar was was gagged. For a moment, she wondered at how cold it seemed; how dire her cousins need must be at this moment.
Then she remembered Vandaras; how he screamed and thrashed and bled. Her face hardened and she stepped outside to wait for the others.

"As far as I knew the Stormlands and Dorne were not at war." said Rhaegar.
As the men approached him he suddenly roared in his best battle command voice.
"Help! By all the gods I am being murdered!" He repeated the cry as long as he was able, trying to avoid the gag as long as possible.

The four guardsmen, the two Stormsland lords, and Daenya escort Rhaegar out past the edge of the camp to the small river that cut the Boneway, separating the lands of Blackhaven from those of Wyl. The Stormlanders remove the gag and circle around Rhaegar and Daenya as they had in the pass earlier, Borros tossing Rhaegar the sword he had taken from the dead royal guardsman.
"I did tell your sister that if you died in my care it would be on your feet, facing your attacker, and armed. Let no man call me a liar."

Rhaegar knew he was badly wounded and had no chance. Very well then.
He threw the sword away and turned his back on Daenya falling to his knees to pray to his gods.

Daenya followed the party at the back, her eyes downcast as she thought of that day in the Dornish sun, when Vandaras died. When they finally reached their chosen spot she took a look around, taking in the night sky and her surroundings.
When Rhaegar went to his knees she frowned. "At least die like a man, cousin. You're a still a Targaryen."

Rhaegar continued to pray only interrupting his murmurings to say.
"May all the Gods curse you for the murder you are about to commit. May you one day meet the same fate as you have dealt to me."
He continued praying on his knees.

Daenya looked down at Rhaegar, hand still on the pommel. After a moment she shrugged, drew her sword and brought the blade down on his neck in a vicious swing.

The blade lodged itself in Rhaegar's spinal column, leaving his neck half-severed. A thick spray of blood erupted from the wound as a harsh inhuman gargling sound replaced his prayers, as if he was beseeching some new and terrifying deity.

Daenya grunted and wrenched her sword free of Rhaegar's neck. She stepped back quickly to not let too much blood soak into her boots.
"That was for Vandaras, you pathetic piece of shit," She hissed, before spitting on Rhaegar's corpse. She cleaned her sword on his clothes, sheathed it and turned to Baratheon. "It is done."

"Bury the body." Baratheon commanded his guardsmen. "When the royal guardsmen discover the corpses at their shift change and raise the alarm it will look as if he killed them and escaped."

Daenya walked up to Baratheon. "A word in private? My tent, or yours if you wish," She said, before heading back to the campsite.

"Of course." Baratheon replied, as his men set about digging a grave for the corpse.
