Just to spice things up, I've decided to allow a form of gambling on the site. With the death toll likely to spike shortly, players will now be able to bet unspent experience points on who they think the next PC to die will be. So for those that enjoy a bit of gambling, are just shy of enough points to level up, and are impatient; this should be a fun opportunity. May the odds be ever in your favor!
With the risk increased due to the new "24 hours to bet" rule, the odds will now be returned to even money. You bet 20, you get 40 back if you win.
Currently: OPEN (until 8:20AM on 5/24 PST)

So if I bet all my exp that, say, Vira was gonna die next, and then Maekar walked up and murdered her, would I be able to buy Master Dragon Handling with my winnings?  |

Are there like odds? Because surely some people are more likely to die than others, in which case the winnings should be bigger.

Even money bets. No odds. Obviously if the gambling starts affecting IC behavior the House will frown on that.
Also, you can only have one active bet at a time, with the board reset after each death.

Can I put myself into debt by betting points I don't have on the assumption that I will earn them at the time of the next distribution?
Or the ones I got but technically didn't get on Varryn because I'm like 73% sure I know who's dying next that won't be caused by me?

I don't know why the term "even money" is complicated to everyone. If you bet 20, you get 40 back if you win. No betting points you don't have, but if you have any spares left over from Varryn, those are yours to do with as you wish.
As long as it's IC justified, I don't mind if you bet. For example, if Maekar wanted to bet Horas was going to die next I wouldn't mind. However if he wanted to bet Vira would die next and killed her just for the points, I'd have qualms.
Also, once a dragon duel has started, betting ends until it's over. No laying bets in the middle of a duel, but I'll usually make a "last call" before I roll it.

You can absolutely place bets on deaths that you're involved in, I just don't want to see OOC bets affecting IC behavior.
