Elyas nodded and closed his eyes, drifting off into a fitful sleep.

Elyas was staring blankly at his wall until Rhaegar arrived . His brow furrowed slightly but he said nothing, continuing to stare at his wall.

"I came to see how you were faring." said Rhaegar.

Elyas finally acknowledged Rhaegar's presence by looking at him. He seemed surprised by the reason the Prince gave for his presence, and looked at him uncertainly for a moment, as if attempting to gauge whether or not the Targaryen was speaking honestly.
"I have been better." Elyas replied, after the moment's pause.
"I should never have aided you and your followers." he added bitterly. "Had I not been misguided by a sense of duty to Lord Anders and his kin then Ser Aurane would still live, and I would have better served Dorne."

"You were serving Dorne by helping kill Vandaras." replied Rhaegar gently. "It was done on the orders of your Princess."

"You were serving Dorne by helping kill Vandaras." replied Rhaegar gently. "It was done on the orders of your Princess." Elyas shook his head. "No. I was doing Dorne a disservice by assisting you. You are a greater threat to us than the beast. I have worked with your kind before. I know the costs of your ambitions."

"And what ambitions would they be?" asked Rhaegar, a faint smile of amusement appearing at the corners of his mouth. This knight was so sure he knew everything.

Elyas shook his head, quite confident the Targaryen was playing him for a fool. "You would be king. I have seen this before. Lord Yronwood and his friends have ambitions that extend beyond their duties to the crown."

"Have I said that?" asked Rhaegar, the smile still playing at the edge of his mouth.

"No. But there is no other reason for one of your kind to be in Dorne." Elyas countered. "And you share the company of the same group of men who last betrayed house Martell for one of your kin. I am not a fool, your purpose is quite clear."

"My Targaryen kin wish me dead and I'm half Dornish. Princess Sarella is my kinswoman. Where else should I flee to?" asked Rhaegar.

"If your Targaryen kin are truly desirous of your death, then you do Dorne a disservice with your presence." Elyas replied, but he seemed marginally less opposed to Rhaegar than earlier.

"Leave that decision up to Princess Sarella." said Rhaegar. "You do serve her, do you not?"

"Of course, but I am entitled to my own opinion, Targaryen." Elyas replied.

Rhaegar shrugged his shoulders. "So be it. Although you should know Princess Sarella has accepted my request and has granted me refuge. So I shall be in Dorne for a good while."

Elyas frowned. Had Trystane never conveyed his concerns to the Princess? What was the point of his being sent to observe the man if his thoughts counted for nothing? "So this is what Aurane died for..." he muttered darkly to himself, forgetting momentarily Rhaegar was present.

Rhaegar heard the remark. "Aurane Dalt died in the service of Dorne following his liege lady's orders." he reminded Elyas, his voice a little more firm.

Rhaegar heard the remark. "Aurane Dalt died in the service of Dorne following his liege lady's orders." he reminded Elyas, his voice a little more firm. Elyas straightened up quickly from where he lay slumped, looking irate at the Targaryen's pretension. "Get out." he snapped.

Rhaegar shrugged his shoulders with a resigned smile.
"I came to inquire as to your welfare as one warrior to another and one that assisted me in the slaying of a dragon. I see that effort was wasted. Were my actual name Yronwood or Martell, any Targaryen blood I happened to possess would almost certainly not concern you."
He turned to leave, still with the same smile on his face. "You condemn my Targaryen blood, yet give no credence to my Yronwood, Dayne and Martell blood. Dornish blood all of it. Princess Sarella and her heir recognise that I at least have some worth because of that."

"And you have the nerve to come before me and tell me that helping you is helping Dorne? The very man whose kin have raped and plundered their way across this land not five years ago. I knew your father, neither you nor he are any different than the beasts whose blood you share." (OOC: Sorry, busy day.)

"You don't know me at all." said Rhaegar . So i you don't think you're in any position to judge who I am and what I might be. And my kin as you call them - the ones that invaded Dorne - are bastards, not even Targaryen by name. Not to mention my deadliest enemies."

"You are correct that I know nothing of you, which is how I would prefer it to remain." Elyas replied with a deadly glare. "And as I know nothing of you I am in no positions to make judgements on your character, as you ask me to. So I will treat you as I would any other Targaryen until you prove to me that my assessment based on our brief acquaintance has been wrong."

"So be it." said Rhaegar shrugging his shoulders again and turning for the door.
"I have done what I consider my duty. There are others, such as your uncle, that are injured and that I should also visit."
