The ancestral seat of House Arryn that sits atop the Giant's Lance, several thousand feet above the valley floor below.

Having spent the better part of the day flying above the Vale and admiring its mountains, Daenerys approached the impregnable castle on Mith. She had given Ser Edmyn, Taena and their other companions time to ascend via the goat trail. The great red beast landed in the courtyard rather gracefully for his size, and a few moments later, Dany hopped off from the saddle.

Dany was struck by the beauty of the castle's pale walls. She had never seen a castle like it, particularly not when she notes the honeycomb appearance of the sky cells. The Eyrie was much smaller than the Red Keep, though, and much more elegant in appearance. She was reminded of the old tale in which the boy King of Mountain and Vale rode Vhagar with Visenya Targaryen.
Ser Edmund approached her with a smile. "So, what do you think, my lady? Is the Eyrie not beautiful?"

Dany had been looking up at the towers and was a little surprised by Edmyn's sudden appearance. The smile on her lips grew wider when she saw him. "It is wonderful! I thought it looked beautiful from above, but it is even nicer up close," she said delightfully, now eyeing the sky cells. "It must be nice, calling this place your home."

"It is," he agreed. "I'm very lucky, Have you flown all around yet? I know that's what I'd do, if I had a dragon."
As if on cue, they saw Victory fly past them and head towards the great white towers, the blue dragon's scales gleaming in the sunlight.

"No, just above it," Dany replied while smoothing her hair, momentarily distracted by Victory. "Oh, I hope your family does not mind the dragons."

"I'm sure they won't. The dragons won't be inside the castle, after all. I had better go tell them, though they may have seen them from the windows already. Would you like a tour of the castle, Lady Daenerys." He offered.

"Why yes, I would love that," she said, somewhat excited at the prospect. "And perhaps then we could have dinner?"

"Oh yes. I will tell the servants to make the arrangements and we can be touring the castle while the food is prepared."
Soon a servant had been notified and They were standing in the High Hall with the Gates of the Moon straight ahead. The wind whistled against the two big doors. "This room is beautiful, I think," Edmyn remarked. "Though many visitors are unnerved by the Moon Door. We shall not open it. On a bad day, the winds can be treacherous." He blushed, fearing he was babbling.

Even though Dany was interested in seeing what was behind the doors, it probably would not have been much better of a view than the one on dragonback anyway. "It is lovely," she said, turning to look at him. A small smile formed on her lips at the sight and she reached out a hand to his cheek.

His eyes betrayed his surprise but he made no attempt to pull away. He looked into her eyes as he said, very quitely "Many great deeds have been done in this hall. Honoured guests have been received here, lords and their kin have been married here, and heirs to the Vale presented to their future bannerlords. We've also seen trials and executions. Sometimes I think my ancestors look down upon us here and judge our deeds for good or ill. But I think they would smile on you, Daenerys." He grinned.

Dany dropped her hand to fiddle with Edmyn's collar as she listened to him. When he had finished, she stood on her toes to place a light kiss on his lips. After pulling back, she met his eyes once more. "Do you think they would still feel that way?" she asked in a small voice.

"Why shouldn't they?" He asked. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. "I think they'd like this even better." His mouth descended to hers, he kissed her hotly and pressed her lightly against one of the tall pillars that shored up the ceiling.

Smiling into the kiss before deepening it, Dany slid both her hands behind his neck. When she had to break off for air, her cheeks were slightly tinted. As if just now remembering where they were, she looked around to make sure they did not have company.

Fortunately they remained undisturbed. Edmyn smiled tenderly at her. "Wel. I hope you did not mind my impetuous nature. I've wanted to do that since we first met."

"No.." replied Dany, smirking. "I wish you would have done it sooner."

"Did you? You could have done it sooner yourself," he said, laughing. "I didn't wish to be thought uncouth. We have manners in the Eyrie, unlike...some others." He trailed off somewhat nervously. "Forgive me, that was improper. But I feel I could tell you anything, my lady, and you would not laugh at me."

Dany, who had been toying with the knight's hair, now gave him a reassuring smile. She did not feel like adding anything since everything he had said had been true. "And is there anything you would like to tell me?"

"Not right now." He paused for a moment, simply looking into her eyes. "Only that I wish we could stay in the Eyrie forever."

"And I would love to stay here with you," she admitted. "But I could never just abandon Driftmark. With Mith, though.. I think it could work."

"Yes. That's the benefit of dragons," he agreed. "If it weren't for him, there would be no chance. I could never ask you to give up your duties to your own land," Edmyn replied. "I care about the Eyrie too much to expect you to surrender Driftmark to another, because I could not do it myself."

She was silent for a while, and untangled herself from him in order to take his hands in hers, all the while not breaking their eye contact. "Then marry me," she said quietly, a little scared that his reply would not be what she wanted to hear.

"I will," he said, slightly breathless. "I will. Do you want a big fancy wedding, Dany? I don't."
