"Indeed. But I would give my blessing to a union with the son or daughter of a Lord Paramount," Nyanna replied. "Furthermore, I have one more suggestion to make. Is your aunt, the Princess Arenya, wed?"

"She is not," Aegon replied, hesitantly, "Though she is something of an... oddity with regards to the institution of marriage."

Nyanna frowned. "Is she? What a pity. I rather thought you might be interested in allying yourself to Master Azantys. He has a brother of a similar age to the princess and he is certainly among the wealthiest men in Volantis, with friends all over the city."

"That may indeed be beneficial," Aegon replied. "We will give the matter some thought."

"Excellent. I would recommend speaking with Master Azantys in person."

"Of course," Aegon nodded. "Did the Triarchs have anything else for us?" He inquired.

"We do not. Thank you so much for your kindness in visiting us. I hope very much that this visit will lead to a better understanding between your people and mine," she replied.

"As do I," Aegon replied, "And you have our thanks once again for being such gracious hosts." He rose to go.

/////////////////////////////////////////// OOC: Assuming I'm not rushing you Horas, I thought we could get started.
IC: Brandon pushed open the heavy doors of the Palace, and took up a position of honor behind Aegon. He'd changed into his plate mail, the latest dents and scratches lovingly buffed out to form a intimidating image of grandeur and violence.
The triarchs had been warned by written letter that the Prince, now hardy and healthy, was coming to discuss a matter of import.
Brandon cleared his throat,
"His Grace, The Prince of Dragonstone, Aegon of House Targaryen," he said.

They didn't have to wait long before Triarch Nyanna Maegyr greeted them. She came solemn and dressed in a sober black robe embroidered with silver thread.
"My lords, I bid you welcome. It is my home my esteemed colleagues will be joining us presently."

Aegon had also had occasion to wash and change, so he came before the Triarchs in a black doublet with the red dragon of House Targaryen sewn prominently on its front. "Indeed, Triarch," Aegon replied. He took a seat, then began business. "I presume you are aware I have been indisposed recently. Are you aware also of the cause of my indisposition?"

"I am," Nyanna replied. "I am pleased to see that you are looking well." She glanced at Brandon. "I am to understand that your companion set himself the task of dealing with the...problem?"

Brandon grunted, "As far as could be accomplished." He extended his hand, and provided a piece of parchment to a slave to provide to the Triarchs.
"You'll see that this is a confession from one Master Staegone, who swore before Jaes Azantys and myself that he was contracted to engage in the assassination of Prince Aegon and myself at the behest of one Qhoran of Lys. Staegone swears that Qhoran told him that a clique of Magisters from Lys arranged for the assassinations. Learning that Staegone had confessed, Qhoran assaulted his house and slew him. The Prince and I were informed of this by Staegone's wife, and by responding swiftly on Dragonback, we're able to catch up with Qhoran. He confirmed Staegone's claims, laying responsibility at the feet of the Ormollens and Forellins of Lys."

She listened quietly, the paper in her hand, and then she asked "What have you done with Master Qhoran? I would like to hear his confession?"

"The matter is not at an end," Aegon replied. "The true culprits -- those who ordered my death -- remain, and that requires a response. And the fact remains that the Lyseni decided to strike within the Black Walls of Volantis themselves, using a Volantene man as one of their tools. Lys apparently believes it has free reign to act however it pleases within Volantis' sovereign domain. Master Azantys told me that guest right is as important a tradition in Volantis as it is in Westeros, and that a person has a responsibility to see to the safety of their guests. Does the conduct of these Lyseni Magisters not offend you, Triarch?"

"It certainly does, else I would not be here. Yet a war with Lys is not to be undertaken lightly. The Tigers are the blood of the old nobility of Valyria, and our blood runs hot. And yet, I could not contemplate committing Volantene forces to war unless there were some benefit to us. Honour is all very well, but it will not feed our troops, nor arm them," she said quietly. "Yet i do not believe it would be impossible to reach an accord."

"War may not be necessary, if there is a strong show of force. Perhaps a demand to turn over the offenders, and certain reparations to the offended parties, namely Westeros and Volantis, would be suitably rewarding?" Brandon asked.

"What kind of reparations?" Nyanna asked. "I am sure you will recall that all three triarchs will need to approve any such measures, so the reparations will need to be pleasing to us all."

"I can't speak to the desires or needs of Volantis," Brandon replied, "But Prince Aegon and I spoke, and the honor of Westeros might be assuaged by turning over the offending persons, and a substantial payment of coin by way of apology. Perhaps some trade agreement with favorable terms would appeal to both your Tigers and your Elephants?"

"It would. Although I must ask for the truth of the incident between yourselves and Lys. I hear a magister was killed?"

Brandon sighed. They'd been over this. "Prince Aegon killed a magister after the man threatened to order crossbowmen to slay him. the man's champion had been defeated in an honorable duel, after he made repeatedly unacceptable insinuations and offenses. Prince Aegon's response was... restrained considering the threat. There are others would not be so lenient."

"I see. Is it not also true that men and women were burned by the dragons when your party departed Lys? I quite understand why the insult to Prince Aegon could not go unanswered, but the burning of the Lyseni is rather...troubling," she sighed.
