A Large feast to welcome the Targaryens into Volantis. Much of the inner city is attending the event, their are tables that line the hall with an empty spot set aside from the tables for any dancing that would happen throughout the night. At the front of the room is a slightly raised table that sits the guests of honor, as well as the hosting family.

Just after the time specified for the feast to begin, Princess Rhaena and Prince Aegon entered the feast hall, her arm loosely in his, appearing easy in one another's company. She wore a deep green dress, that fitted her form perfectly. It was armless, leaving her shoulders bare and giving a good view of her clavicle. Her hair was braided and came over one shoulder.
After they were announced and approached the dais where the hosts were, Rhaena let loose a beautiful smile, "thank you, on behalf of His Grace King Maegor, for receiving us so warmly into your great city."

Aegon wore a deep red doublet with dark breeches and boots. He took his seat along with his betrothed as Rhaena mouthed the necessary formalities this time.

Jaes turns to her from his seat at the table, to greet the princess. "It is our pleasure to welcome more daughters of Valyria into our home. We are glad that you and your family could make time out of your trip to visit us." He says friendlily.

"Volantis is one of the most important destinations on our Journey." She said, smiling at the man, "and being hosted by such a great family is Volantis is the highest honour to be had here." She hated the mindless flattery of diplomacy.

Jaes raises his eyebrows slightly, "So what do you have planned for your stay here in our city? Aside from all of the diplomatic meetings that the Triarchs will have for you." He says with a sly smile towards the other end of the table where the Vhassar Triarch was sitting.

"Experiencing all that your great culture has to offer," she said, crossing her legs bad turning more towards him, as he seemed to want a full conversation. "Do you have a Valyrian Temple here? I should like to see that."

"Of course, our temple was built with the founding of our city, before the Doom. Our library also has a complete set of histories of the old Freehold, if you are interested in the subject." He replies.

"I'm told you collect artifacts from before the Doom, Master Azantys?" Aegon asked. "Have you been to the ruins of Old Valyria yourself?"

"I visited the ruins with my uncle when I was a boy. After that visit my trips there have been rare, leaving the expeditions for my brother while I deal with the trades and selling aspects of the business." Jaes replies turning to the Prince.

"What was it like?" Aegon asked. "I have heard many a ship has been lost there in search of treasure."

"It's dark there more often then not, and almost nothing remains of the old Freehold. Yes it is a very dangerous mission to sail through the smoking sea, but my family has managed to find a safe route through to the main isles of the area."

"The best things always come with some element of risk, do they not?" she said, smiling at Aegon and round at Jaes again, "If you have been to the ruins, I would be very interested in what it was like, the landscape, everthing. What do you think caused it, were there any clues there?" She made a mental note to check out the library and the temple while she was there.

"There is a series of books in the Library concerning those questions of Valyria, if you are interested in them then I would be happy to show them to you." Jaes replies. "It seems you possess a large curiosity about the ruins as they are now. Were you planning on taking the trip, during your stay here?"

"Or we may not, it depends on how much time we have," she said, smiling a bit strained, "I would like to see the books, if you would show me, to give an idea on what it was like before the doom, as a comparison. I cannot imagine what could destroy it so... completely."

"Of course." Jaes says taking a drink from his goblet. "It pleases me in knowing that some Targaryen's are still interested in their ancestral home. I will have a trip scheduled into the Library to introduce you to the books, Fires of the Freehold by Galendro. It is an interesting read."

"I shall enjoy reading it I am sure, I am always hungry to know new things." she agreed, and looked down at the food before them, "Your food is very exotic here, in the east, what is this called?" she asked, picking up something that looked like fried grey meat,

Jaes looks at the dish in question, "That is one of the traditional dishes here, seal fried in the fat of our elephants with lemon juice, capers, and peppers." He answers.

Princess Laena had been busy talking to another noble guest. "I too would like to see this library. I am...a student of history and lore and now that the Citadel of Oldtown is destroyed I intend to spend my remaining years building up a store of knowledge for my grandchildren and those who come after them." She looked around at the Volantenes. "Are there any special events planned for our visit?"

Jaes turns to the royal grandmother, "There are small games throughout the city that are being held in your honor. Though most of them are just small things for the rabble to spend their money on. There will be a masquerade held in the Palace of the Triarch's the night you are supposed to meet them." Jaes says with a smile that suggests there was another reason for the masquerade as well.

Brandon had entered the dinner accompany the heirs, wearing his white plate, although no helm. He scanned the room comfortably, watching to see if any one seemed uneasy or as if they did not belong.

Brandon notices nothing unusual. It seems to him that everyone is either a Volantene dignitary or an attending servant, and all of them seem comfortable in their roles. There are no obvious signs of hostility towards the visitors.
"A masquerade will be very nice," Laena remarked, though she had no great interest in balls and masquerades. "I would love to hear more about the planned games. Perhaps a display of martial prowess would suit?"

Arenya also arrived during the meal, her desired form of dress was not as bulky as the Lord Commander's choice. Her sword was sheathed at her side, but she was not wearing her armor.
Her black pants with a crimson red stripe that ran down each leg were covering her polished black boots. Her blouse of black silk was worn under a vest that bore a random red and black paisley type pattern design, on the right side of the vest was an embroidered sigil of House Targaryen. Earrings were also thin and reddish in color and dangled, brushing the sides of her cheeks.
All seemed well as she stood beside him. Her mother giving that political glowing smile. It always amazed her how the Dragonmother could work a room, weave her magic and in the end of it all have her way. She smirked with a chuckle.

"Perhaps something could be arranged to demonstrate the valor of the man that you brought on your travels." Jaes states eyeing the floor and seeing the two weapon and armored clad members of the Targaryen party. "It appears to me that there are two such members of your party that feel uncomfortable without their weapons." He states to the older woman. "In Volantis I am afraid, it can be taken as an insult to wear one's weapon to dinner."
