"I heard a lot of different things on my way over here," she said, narrowing her eyes slightly at Aegon, and walked beside him, her bow in hand, as she got an arrow out to use if she had to. "About you killing a magister?"

As the formation moved out into the streets, Aegon could see that they were PACKED with people. Every street within view was packed wall-to-wall with bodies, except for the main thoroughfare that led from the Chief Maester's palace to the nearest gate. Angry jeers and shouts rang out from the mob as the Westerosi slowly made their way down the street, and a few rotten tomatoes and heads of lettuce splattered to the ground in front of Aegon; several guards were hit with vegetables, though for the moment nothing more solid than food was being thrown at them from the crowd. One guard was stabbed by a fanatic with a knife, but the party was fortunate to lose only one of their number by the time they reached the gate.

"That is probably due to the fact I killed a magister," Aegon acknowledged. "He had it coming."
The guards press their way through the streets. They are instructed not to respond to the thrown food or jeers, but they cut a bloody path through anyone who dares to attack directly.

"What did he do?" she asked, as they moved forward, the gate in sight now and their freedom, she had thought if either of them were to cause an international incident, that it would have been her, not Aegon, wonders never ceased.
When they got to where the dragons were, Rhaena got immediately onto Tyraxes, and took off.

A crowd followed them, shouting and calling the dragons demons and demanding they be slain. Princess Laena, not knowing the full extent of the situation, but realising that all hell had broken loose, immediately leaped onto Vermilion's back. Vermilion too flight. Feeding off the anger of the crowd, spat a jet of red flame at the frontrunners as he took. Men and women screamed in agony as the dragonfire burned them alive. Laena watched them grimly "To Volantis then," she cried.

"He threatened his grace'a life and demanded sexual favors," Brandon replied, "they are fortunate they dealt with the son and not the father." He climbed on Aerion's back. "We should cover our men's departure lest the Lyseni lynch them when the dragon threat is gone."

Aegon nodded. "It seems that the Lyseni have forgotten that a dragon is to be feared." He swung up into Glutton's saddle, flying low and breathing great gouts of flame at the fools who had pursued them outside the city. He kept it up until the Lyseni were in full flight back to the gates of their city, and pursued them no further.

With Glutton's flame added to Vermilion's, at least twenty people were killed by dragonfire that day, and many more were wounded. The result was that Lys began to fear and hate the Targaryens.
