The diplomatic expedition party has arranged to meet at the Dragonpit ready for departure. Their first port of call is to be Tyrosh.
Princess Laena waits with Vermilion. She is not often seen in riding leathers, but she wears them now, her hair tied back in its usual bun. She has saddlebags strapped to Vermilion's saddle, containing food, water, clothing and her healing potions. She also wears a dagger at her hip.

Aegon arrives early in the morning, being trailed by another man. Ser Rolf Silver, as the man was called, was named not for his wealth (he possessed none) but rather for the color of his hair, which hinted at being the son or grandson of a dragonseed. Aegon had chosen the man because he had grown up on Dragonstone and had long been part of its garrison, and had on account of his suspected heritage had even assisted from time to time in seeing to the needs of the dragons. There were fiercer knights in the Seven Kingdoms, but Ser Rolf was capable enough with a blade and his loyalty was not in question.
"Grandmother." Aegon nodded to the dowager queen. "I see the others haven't arrived yet? That's good, it will give me time to feed Glutton." The hungry beast was more pliable and placid by far after it had gorged on a large meal. A small herd of sheep was escorted over to Glutton's lair by a pair of Dragonpit attendants. Aegon told the dragon to feed, and Glutton began making a bloody mess out of the sheep.

Brandon entered the Dragon pit, with Aerion. Brandon was wearing his mail and breastplate, while pieces of enameled white plate where carefully folded up into a bundle with other clothes and provisions, situated on the Winter Storm's back.
Brandon surveyed the old hag and her dragon, along with Aegon and Aegon's guardsmen. He surveyed the man carefully to get a sense of his ability, but said nothing.

Laena looked at her grandson with thinly veiled amusement. "Ah, that beast of yours. So hungry...I hope you are committed to this visit, Aegon. It is important that yourself and Rhaena appear united before the foreign dignitaries."
She glanced at the Lord Commander as he appeared.

It turned out Rhaena was already in the Dragonpit, but due to the location of her Dragon's nest, it was rather a trek to get there. She wore riding leathers, in a deep viridian rather than red or black Her hair was in a side braid, as it always was when they flew, as the wind would ravage it otherwise. She had managed already to load some saddlebags on Tyraxes, which was no easy feat, considering he did not want them, and was apparently in a bad mood, having gotten used to sleeping whenever he felt like.
She approached the others, leaving Tyraxes a bit of a ways back, he was already eyeing each of them suspiciously, and had become even more grumpy and protective since Oldtown.
"Grandmother, Aegon, Lord Commander," She greeted, putting on a pair of gloves. it got cold up in those skies.

"Rhaena," Laena murmured. "I see that you are ready." She looked around at the others. "Are we all ready?"

Brandon nodded politely at the Princess. Aerion eyed the other dragons and growled slightly, before choosing to ignore them.

Aegon nodded in response to his sister, though most of his attention was on his dragon at the moment.
Most non-Targaryens were typically overawed in the presence of dragons, and Glutton's gruesome eating habits in particular could cause a grown man to quake in his boots. Given his status on Dragonstone, however, Ser Rolf had become long accustomed to the presence of dragons and his face remained impassive. Aegon waited until Glutton had snapped up every last scrap of flesh and bone before approaching him. Content with his full meal, Glutton laid his head down amidst the bloody remnants of the flock. Aegon approached and laid a calming hand on the dragon's flank, making reassuring noises. He gestured for Rolf Silver to approach so Glutton might grow accustomed to his presence.

Glutton allows Rolf into his presence without complaint, but it is a close run thing, the dragon hissing at first before bowing his head and letting the knight approach.

Aegon muttered calming words to his dragon before mounting the beast. Once Glutton had settled back down, he offered his hand to Rolf to help the knight up.

The knight climbed up with no evidence of fear, though he surely felt it.
"Lead on, Aegon," Laena urged, as she climbed onto Vermilion's back, somehow managing to do it in her usual dignified manner.

Rhaena got on Tyraxes and put a hand on his neck comfortingly, before kicking her heel into him and directing him to take off, not waiting for her brother to lead on at all.

Once he and his passenger were secured, Aegon directed his dragon out of the pit and up into the open sky.

Brandon mounted Aerion and guided him skyward as well. He took up a position above Aegon and slightly behind him, so he could see the party as they flew.
