The capital city of the Summer Isles, on Walano island. Most buildings here are made of wood, due to the thick jungles and forests prevalent on the Summer Isles. The city is a port, many temples and taverns, as well as mercantile establishments and living quarters for Summer Islanders from all ranks.

Daenya, along with Adara and their Summer Island companions arrived at Lotus Port. Already from a distance Daenya marveled at its sight, unfamiliar with the architecture, the people and the culture surrounding it in person.

Koja grinned at Daenya. "Let us go to the pillow house my family uses. You can rest and bathe there. And we will send a message to the king."

"I suppose so," Daneya said with a nod, ready to get out of her dirty and somewhat sweaty dress. She wasn't used to such a warm climate, that was for sure, and it had been quite the trek. "Your king can speak common?"

"I do not know," Koja replied. "I have not met the king. Come, the pillow house is not far. There will be cool drinks, wine and rum if you fancy it. Food too, if you are hungry."

"A drink might not be bad, I admit," Daenya replied, still not quite comfortable about letting down her guard. "Though I want to spend as little time as I can in that... place," She added, not wishing to use the word of what the pillowhouse really was.

Koja shrugged. "That is for the king to say. They will not force a man upon you at first. You will be treated kindly. Come!"
She indicated a tall building with vines decorating the balcony. "It is a nice place."

"They will not force one upon me at all," Daenya said quietly, following Koja into the building warily. She kept her eyes sharp, looking about as they entered the building. Nevertheless she had to admit it was a beautiful building.

The whole place had an air of luxury, from the scented bowls to the rich Myrish carpet to the fine furniture. Daenya saw women in brightly covered robes, all with the ebony skin of the Summer Isles. Their clothing ranged from modest to revealing. Men were present too, teasing the women, kissing them, drinking with them. Some men were Summer Islanders too, but others were clearly travellers, perhaps merchants or mercenary captains.
"this is the common room," Koja explained. "We will speak to the owner."

Daenya's eyes went wide when she saw the luxury of the place. Even the Red Keep didn't have any rooms that were quite as lavish.
She was surprised to see those present be ao open about their pre-love making and forced herself to look away, too much reminded of her other self which had fortunately not shown itself in a while.
"Which one is the owner?" She asked.

Koja indicated a tall, stately woman in a sea green silk robe which flowed about her as if it were water. She wore a gold belt studded with glass stones to cinch it in at her waist. The woman glided over to them. Her hair was pinned behind her head and she wore long earrings to match the belt.
"Greetings," she said in the common tongue. She looked at Daenya and Adara. "Who have we hear? A girl from Tyrosh, perhaps?"

"I am Princess Daenya Targaryen, of Westeros, " Daenya told her with regal bearing. She dtidoed the woman's dress and earrings, smiling.
"I like your belt, mistress..?"

"My name is Alayaya," she responded smoothly. "I own this establishment." Already Daenya could tell the difference in her command of the Common Tongue. Alayaya spoke with more fluently and with more confidence than the villagers Daenya and Adara had met Her demeanour was considerably warmer as well. "We know of the Targaryens here in Lotus Port. Your family is very famous. I recognise dear Koja, of course. She and I are old friends, and I know the maid to be her sister. But you have not introduced your companion."
"I'm Daenya's cousin," Adara said. "Lady Dondarrion. Could I have some wine?"
Alayaya laughed and beckoned to one of the girls present but turned back to Daenya. "Why have you to come to me? Do you seek a companion to warm your bed?"

"To be true, I do not know exactly why I am here in your establishment, " Daenya said with a look at Koja.
"But it is not to lie with a man. I intended to visit the Summer Isles peacefully and yet I find myself..." She looked for a fitting word. "Escorted, shall we say." She finally said, smiling innocently.

Koja said something to Alayaya that made the older woman's expression change. They conducted a short conversation in the summer tongue, which the women from Westeros could not understand.
"Koja says her father asked you to come here so you may prove your willingness to learn our customs before you meet the king. We believe there is no shame in the pillow house, not like you Westerosi, who keep your women maiden until marriage. Ah yes, I know of your ways. I have merchants from Westeros among my customers."
Adara burst out laughing. The wine was swiftly brought to them on a tray. It was a bright amber hue.

"I know a lot about the Summer Island culture and am willing to learn about more, but I am not going to lie with men in a pillow house," Daenya replied. "I am sure you and your king can understand that."
She turned to Adara and gave her a lingering look, before taking a glass of wine and sipping from it.

Adara looked at Daenya. "Oh, come on! I've never had a Summer Islander! Don't be boring, Daenya! We;re in their land, we have to respect their wishes."
Alayaya said "Either you do as Koja's father wishes and you may have free board until you go to the king. Otherwise, you will pay for both bed and board, or go to an inn."

Daenya shook her head. "Adara may do as she wishes; she is her own woman and her reputations is not going to suffer. I, however, will pay for my room." She took her purse out.
"How long until we see the king?" She asked Koja.

"That is for the king to decide," Koja answered.
Alayaya named an extortionate fee for Daenya's food and lodging. "A servant will be extra."

"I won't need a servant," Daenya replied, taking enough coin from her purse and handing it to Alayaya. "I will be spending most of my time in my rooms, at least until I see the king."

Alayaya looked at the Westerosi coins with interest, then nodded. She had a woman escort Adara to her room, and another took Koja and her sister off too. Alayaya herself escorted the princess. Daenya's was small but lavish, with a four poster bed, a clothes chest, a bedside cabinet, table and comfortable chairs. Wine and fruit were laid out on the table, with a jug of scented water.
"Why do you wish to see the king?" She asked.

Daenya shrugged. "I was told he would be interested in seeing me, and it seemed I did not have much choice in the matter. Although I look forward to seeing what sort of a man your ruler is." She smiled, but barely.

"I have never met the king, though I have met his brother," Alayaya confided with a knowing smile. "Very charming, and an excellent lover. It would seem logical for a visiting princess to meet the king. Though Koja informs me that her father thinks you a spy. Tell me how you will persuade me not to agree with her."

"Do I need to persuade you?" Daenya asked, sounding curious. "If the Iron Throne would send a spy to the Summer Isles it would certainly not be a princess. A merchant, maybe; someone who would not cause too much of a fuss. And what sort of spy would I be, landing my dragon next to a town and walking right into it with a sword?"

"We have a lot of wood here in the Summer Isles," said Alayaya. "Bringing a dragon here may be seen as a great threat. Everyone knows dragons breathe fire. Perhaps you are a scout for an invading army? Do you not see the problem?"
