"The king will allow a woman to the Kingsguard?" Dany asked, pleasantly surprised. "I am sure you will find someone. All the ladies at court are really pretty, from what I have seen. Just try not to hurt your wife-to-be, she seemed rather taken with you at the princess' nameday festivities," she added.

Smiling, Daenerys ran a hand through her hair. "Ah yes. The Valyrian silver-blonde is especially nice, don't you find? I can not quite put my finger on it, but there is just that something about gold that makes more pleasing to the eye than silver. At least I feel that way."

Baelon laughed a bit at that. "I have been known to exaggerate once or twice." He told her. "But I do not lie to women. If I did not think you beautiful, I would not be so interested. If I were not so interested, why would I bother lying to seduce you? So clearly, you must be beautiful, as I say."

"Certainly not." Baelon replied, leaning in as well, though his eyes remained on hers. "My betrothed is a pretty lady. I can get that at home. But she isn't terribly clever. You are, I think, and that interests me. The world is a terribly boring place without a clever woman to make it intriguing."

With a smirk playing on her lips, Dany kept their eye contact for a moment before rising briskly and smoothing the skirts of her dress with one hand while placing the other on Baelon's shoulder. "In that case, cousin, I am confident that our paths will cross again," she said, and when she was satisfied with the state of her dress, she bowed down to place a soft kiss on his cheek, lingering slightly longer than perhaps would have been appropriate.
"Now, were there any other pressing matters that you wished to discuss? I must be on my way, you see," she told him, still leaning down, her face mere inches from his.

Baelon's mouth spread into a smile at her evasiveness. "Why yes, there was." He said quietly, as he reached a hand up to her chin. He moved forward until their lips were barely separated. "Though I think they might be better discussed somewhere more private."

"Another time then," she replied, standing up straight again. "As a rule, I prefer my private discussions to stay private, which would hardly be the case right now. I will see you at your wedding, and one day we can finish this conversation about the ships. When you have a better idea about your intentions at the sea, perhaps. Farewell, Baelon."
Dany turned on her heels and made her way to the door, already opened by one of her guards by the time she got there. With one last glance at her cousin, she left.
