A inn and tavern in the basement of a seamstress shop. It is dirty, and an old one armed Ironborn named Vladic runs the tavern for Lord Sergio Delinaal. When he is not there a mute woman with no name, and she is the only other staff.

A man missing his left hand comes into the tavern, and sits down at the bar. At his hip is a longsword with a dragon bone hilt, with a crystal star set into the pommel. He wears a black cloak, and a black eye-patch over his right eye, though a tiny red dragon is embroidered into the center of the patch. He orders a drink, and observes the surroundings.

Vladric serves him, and then exits into the back. After several minutes Lord Sergio Delinaal walked into the bar from the back room. He looked around idly, until his eyes fell upon Maekar.
The bar as usual is empty. The drink Maekar had sipped at was sour, and bitter at the same time, but it did have a big kick. Sergio looked down the hovel at Maekar, and slowly walked through the bar, "Lord Maekar, it is a pleasure to see you again. I assume you have some words to speak with me."

"Indeed, Master Delinaal, and the pleasure is equally returned," Maekar replied, sipping his ale with a grimace. "How are you finding the capital? I have been away, as I am sure you were aware, and I imagined I might be able to find some information about its workings in my absence."

Sergio chuckled, "This city is like the bowl Braavos uses to piss in. But I have come to find a couple bright points. Here and there." He smiled, "And as I recall you were accompanying that beautiful young Vira to hunt some kind of Hedgehog. How did you hunt progress?" His lips quirked as he asked the question.

"Poorly. The few leads we found led to dead ends, though we put down a small group of bandits," Maekar replied with a shrug, chuckling as he finished his ale. "Hedgehog, heh. It was a foolish hunt, but six weeks alone with such a woman was… entertaining, to say the least."

Sergio sat down at a table, and placed one black boot on top of the other and smiled, "She looked a fierce creature. One whom you would have to fight for control with every kiss, and every fuck a battle. I have chased a few like her, and the chase was always magnificent." The Braavosi studied Maekar, "And every ending has left me scarred, and bruised."

"Each was well worth the wounds, I am quite sure," Maekar replied with smirk. "I have certainly found that to be true, and I must maintain some fun on the side, as I am soon to marry to a dowry-less woman with nothing but her name," he added, his voice turning slightly bitter.
"What have you heard about my bride-to-be, Master Delinaal?" he asked curiously.

Sergio looked at Maekar and thought for a moment, "I have had the pleasure of meeting her. She is quite beautiful and her charms should make some small substitute for a dowry." He tilted his head back and then added, "I am quite sure everything I know about her you too know about her as well."

"Is knowledge not your business, my lord?" Maekar asked in mock surprise. "I am surprised to find the day where I know more of a subject than yourself. Perhaps you are losing your touch?"

Serigo nodded, "It is my business of course to know everything, but I have only been in your city for two months. You have had years getting to know its inhabitants and peoples." His dark eyes never left Maekar's lone eye, "I know she is more then pleased at the prospect of having such a wealthy and powerful husband."

"I imagine she would be," Maekar replied. "Though I would be more pleased if marrying her increased my wealth and power in some way. I find I have rather a taste for both," he added evenly, raising his tankard for the bartender to refill.

Sergio's smile suddenly grew warmer, and he stood up. He grabbed the Tankard and walked behind the bar to refill it. "Who does not. And it always so strange that the two are so tightly interlinked. I have never been able to decide if wealth buys power, or power earns wealth." He moved back placing the drink in from of Maekar, "Which do you think?"

"They are interchangeable, I find, though Dragons tip the scales mightily and they can never be bought with gold, only with blood. Thrones are won with blood, but also sometimes with gold, or even dragonfire," Maekar replied. "I imagine Braavos now has a keen interest in the doings of the man who sits the Iron Throne, considering how he owes your Iron Bank a sum equivalent to half of Westeros. How do you find his grace, the King's behavior?"

Sergio sat back down and threw one boot atop of the other, "Braavos has an interest in every ruler from Myr to Ashai. Trade and Banks have no boundaries." He turned his gaze to the scarred, iron face of Maekar, "I will say nothing to damage your king's reputation. He is a strong king, with a powerful. He has had some bad luck with many unforeseen obstacles delaying his payments. Our greatest concern is working to prevent these delays."

"I imagine it is not easy to run a Kingdom, while being hounded by creditors," Maekar replied. "The crown has not ceased payments to the Iron Bank, has it?" he asked curiously.

Sergio quirked his head slightly and asked in turn, "Lord Maekar, what do you think Braavos would do to a ruler who stopped paying their debts?"

"I have heard the stories, Master Delinaal, but there is little to indicate that they are more than that. It is said that Princes who do not pay the Iron Bank soon find their rivals rising up to depose them, backed with the gold of Braavos, but that seems rather..." Maekar shrugged, not really finding the words he wanted. "I do not doubt that the Iron Bank will get its due, but at the same time, the man who rides Balerion is not an easy man to kill."

"There is an ancient Valyrian saying that talks about all men." Sergio replied, "History is history not stories. And I think if you did not believe in those stories you would not have come down here to speak with me." He watched the Targaryen idly as he sat.

"Perhaps not," Maekar conceded slowly. "But how could the Iron Bank be sure their rival claimant would be capable of making payments where his predecessor was unable to do so?" he asked carefully.

Sergio thought a long moment before answering, "if you study history, you can see That the iron bank chooses its allies well. Almost none of them have ever missed a payment."

"Well I hope they continue to choose allies with the same wisdom that they have done so in the past," Maekar replied, raising his tankard for a toast.

Sergio had no drink of his own so merely nodded. "History often repeats. I will do my part."

"And what part is that, exactly?" Maekar replied, finishing his second ale. "The Sealord is your… uncle? Cousin? I misremember, but he is a Delinaal, is he not?"

"A cousin. It feels like we are all cousins sometimes." Sergio replied, "He took the name Fortuno when he was named Sea Lord. He is trying to live up to Fortuno the Fair. Quite a height to measure yourself too."
