"Not particularly," she said, though she knew Maekar would already have been able to tell that, knowing her well enough to know when she was incredibly bored, "It will at least be her that is getting into trouble, rather than any of us, and she can hardly blame her other self for it this time." She turned to Maekar and then smiled at him, reaching out to touch his arm gently, "I am surprised you are here," "Well I heard that the Princess Rhaena was putting on her finest, for her sister's birthday, and I knew that was something no man could willingly miss," Maekar replied, with a winning smile, locking his eyes with hers. He placed his hand over hers, and raised it to his lips, gently kissing her knuckles. "It very much appears that I was right."

"Me, I would!" Lysa said.
Arwyn rolled her eyes at her youngest sister's enthusiasm. "Megga would be a better choice," she whispered.
In their new gowns, the sisters looked respectable enough, the dresses for the two youngest hastily altered to suit maiden girls. Leona, the second sister, wore a more womanly dress that clung to her breasts but was still modest in cut. Each girl had her own colour, Leona in blue, Megga in yellow and little Lysa in pale green.
Arwyn, however, wore the white dress that was a silk slip, low cut, with a lace overlay and lace sleeves. Her breasts were half displayed and half covered by the lace and the dress clung to her slender figure. She wore her hair down loose.
"So many people," she said, trying to subdue her nerves. "Which is the princess?"

"You can thank my mother," Rhaena said, smiling more as he kissed her hand and held his in her own after he had finished kissing it, "I had no idea you were planning on taking up charity work," she said, glancing over at Vira and smiling.

"Which is the princess?" "Oh, let's see..." Baelon answered, scanning the room. "Ah. Well that's a change. Pink hair, looks like she's just scorned some poor suitor. Come, I'll introduce you." He took Arwyn by the hand and led her through the crowd, nodding greetings at those he recognized. "Oh, Daenya," He said once they were near, "A joyous nameday, niece. Allow me to introduce my betrothed, Lady Arwyn Cuy and her sisters."

Daenya turned, her expression one of mild amusement. "Baelon, thank you," She said, deciding to be kind for the moment. She looked Arwyn up and down.
"A nice dress you have there, lady Cuy," She said, a smirk on her face. "I'm sure Baelon cannot wait to rip it off you."

"Well, I won't be in this city for long so that will be one less," Dany joked, and recalled that the prince had indeed grown up on Dragonstone. "Of course, how could I forget. The city will be your home one day though, will it not? I am confident you will adapt to it. Or shape it to your liking." "A tall order," Aegon smiled with good humor. "I think my first priority will be to do something about the smell. That or a royal edict banning people from talking loudly during plays. Truly, the pressing issues of our era."

Arwyn turned red as she rose from a curtsey, as she had so many times lately since becoming entangled with the Targaryens. Daenya had hit too close to home.
"Oh. We are merely betrothed," she said, though she made herself smile. "We shall be married soon. But thank you for the compliment. I agree, the dress is very pretty. You have a pretty dress too."

Maekar laughed lightly, as he followed her gaze to Vira. "She claims to be one of grandfather's bastards, by some peasant in a village on the Blackwater. I met her at the Dragonpit, though, she just arrived from Dragonstone after taming the Grey Ghost, so perhaps she might be telling the truth about her parentage. Are you jealous, Princess?" he asked with another small laugh, though Rhaena knew well that he was poking fun at her, and his fingers remained entwined with hers.

"I do, don't I, though I would love to try yours," Daenya answered with another wink. "And who are these?" She asked, seemingly noticing the younger girls for the first time.

"These are Arwyn's sisters. Leona," Baelon pointed to each as he named them, "Megga, and Lysa. They all dearly hope to have a place at court, and I thought you might accept one as your handmaiden, as your gift from myself and House Cuy."

"Not at all," she said, with a genuine laugh, "You are welcome to take interest in whoever you like, as you well know." Rhaena went on, squeezing his hand briefly in hers, "She doesn't look much like us, does she? Pretty enough though."
She looked past her, taking in Vira's appearance once more and shrugging.

Daenya said, studying the girls a little closer. The decision was easy of course, but letting them dangle a little was fun. "I'd say Leona, she's the prettiest."

"Yes!" Leona beamed, while Lysa cried out in disappointment. "Thank you, princess, you won't regret it," Leona gushed. "I will be a really good handmaid, you'll see."
But there was a gleam in her eye that indicated her motives weren't selfless.
Arwyn looked to Baelon. "Perhaps we could find someone to take on Lysa and Megga can be my own handmaid until she takes a husband."

"I rather thought so," he replied dryly, "though you are right, she bears little enough resemblance to grandfather, or any of us. I saw her climb down off the Ghost's back, however, so she's clearly a dragonrider. I think you might like each other," he added, elbowing her in the ribs playfully with a small grin on his face, "and besides, that sounds like a friendship that I would rather enjoy getting in the middle of."

"How has the party been, Daenya? We only just got into town, and happened to run into Maekar with your new aunt. He was good enough to let me know what we were missing."

"Perhaps I we will like one another so much we no longer require your friendship" Rhaena said, poking him in the shoulder with her spare hand, it really can't be stressed enough how helpful two hands are. "We do not all have to look the same, look at Trajan, he has dark hair. Aegon's hair may as well be brown, and the younger traitorspwan? She's as good as a mouse," she looked round pointed to Elseyris at that, but woon enough looked to Maekar again.
"There is something I needed to discuss with you, but it will have to wait until we're in private."

Daenya grinned and leaned forward, kissing Leona on the cheek. "You'll do well serving me, won't you?" She asked, before turning to Baelon.
"Well, if Maekar is talking of missing something it is no doubt his hand and eye," She said with a mocking laugh. "As for here? Well, not much. The festivities have only just begun."

"Good. I would not have wanted to miss much of my favorite niece's party. Rather surprising it hasn't yet turned into an orgy or a brawl, with this much of our family around."

"An orgy, you say?" Daenya asked, a smile on her lips. "Baelon, what wonderful suggestions you come up with/"

Arwyn's eyes widened. "An orgy? But isn't that...?" She looked to Baelon for help. "Please, don't make me do that. I don't want another man."
"I'll do it!" Leona cried, earning herself a scowl from her sister.

I am glad you're enjoying yourself," she said. Sure, there had been moments of lightheartedness when they were on Dragonstone all those years ago, but they had been children back then. She feigned a solemn expression, "In all seriousness, the talk at plays must be eradicated."

"Not an entirely unrealistic one, granted. But no one's going to force you into anything like that."

"My duties have kept me busy, but such a mistake will be rectified shortly," Maekar replied. He took no pleasure in being apart from Rhaena, but he could not hide from her his happiness at her words. "You have but to say the word, Princess, and I will be there," he added, gently missing her hand again, before releasing it. "Perhaps it is best if we do not become the subject of too many rumors, and I imagine Daenya will be quite wroth if all anyone speaks of tomorrow is her sister's handsome lover."
