The Red Keep has a massive building that serves as its stables, cable of holding several hundred horses, and even two dragons medium sized dragons in a separate adjoining section.

Dany rode into the stables on a beautiful white palfrey after deciding to lead the horse to her stall herself rather than trusting the task to a stableboy. Upon reaching the part of the building meant for the nobles' horses, she dismounted before unlatching the gate to the stall.

She found Maekar of Dragonstone already there, tapping his foot while a pair of grooms saddled and bridled his horse. He was dressed in black and red, and Vigilance hung at his side. His wore his usual black eye patch with a dragon embroidered with red thread, and his left sleeve was pinned back covering his stump.

She paused when she noticed the Knight Inquisitor, but turned back to the gate and lead her horse to the stall.
"Ser Maekar," she said in a manner of acknowledgement as she stepped out, closing the gate behind her with a sigh. After witnessing the death of Aemy, she had always treated the man rather coolly around their camp, barely ever resorting to more than a greeting and formalities. "It is a pity. About your hand, and the eye," she added softly.

Maekar nodded in response to her acknowledgement, and when she spoke again, he stared at her for a long moment until she looked away. "Lady Velaryon," he replied. "It is also a pity, about your father. He was a good man, and it is said that he died in battle."

Daenerys did not feel the need to look away, finding that the loss of an eye and limb had diminished the king's bastard's scariness greatly. She nodded, and gave him half a smile, assuming that Maekar thought highly of dying in battle. "Thank you. Did you know him well?"

"Not particularly, Lady Velaryon, we only had occasion to meet when I reported on the army's progress to the Small Council, and even it was your uncle the Hand to whom I primarily reported," he replied, resting on Vigilance's black hilt while he glared at the stable hands who were clearly too slow for him.

"Ah, I see." She took a few steps towards the entrance of the stables, but did not leave yet. "Going to your duties, I assume?" she asked him amiably enough.

"I am actually headed down to the Dragonpit, I mean to fly back to Oldtown in a few days and I want to be sure Cyrax has suffickently regained his strength for the journey," he replied. "May I was from where you are returning?"

"Just a ride in the countryside to clear my head. This city can be.. overwhelming," she said, and looked at him curiously. "And may I ask, why are you returning to Oldtown?" She had no intentions of going back there, at least not in the next ten years or so.

"It would be wise to keep a few dragons in the south, if for no other reason than to remind the people to whom they submit and why," Maekar replied. "Though there are a number of men who must be hunted down before the realm is truly at peace, I will have to follow what leads I find."

"That is reasonable. Did no one stay behind, then?" She thought for a moment. "People of the Faith? I thought everyone in charge of this uprising was already killed or.. subdued."

"The queen remained, but we would be wise to maintain more than a single dragon in the south at a time, at least for now," he said.
"There were some of the Faith who were not in Oltown when it fell, and have likely taken to banditry since then. Only the most zealous will keep fighting now, but they will do so until they are killed and it is said that a desperate and cornered animal is the most dangerous," he added in response to her second question.

Dany nodded and looked hesitant for a while before deciding to speak up. "I know now you are doing all this because it is your duty and I realize that you do not enjoy the things you have to do sometimes.. Can the same be said about your brother though?"

Maekar shrugged although he knew the true answer. "I cannot speak for him, but I take no easier in killing. Even the King's enemies. We all do what we must, however," he said.

"That is true," she said, and looked to his horse being groomed for the ride before looking her cousin in the eye again. "Take care, Ser Maekar."

"And you as well, Lazdy Velaryon," he replied, mounting his horse and riding out the gates.

Ser Arthur Harroway entered the Stables. He hadn't had time to check on his mount after Ser Davos had taken it from him and wanted to make sure that it was stabled comfortably.

Dany had left for the entrance of the stables when she noticed the silver-haired man. He looked and dressed like a noble, which made her assume he was another one of the Targaryen cousins, although which one of them was another thing. "Good day, Ser," she said with a slight smile in passing.

For a second Arthur seemed to ignore the words of greeting for the woman busy still looking for his horse, finally his blue eyes flick to blond woman. Stopping instantly the young Knight turns towards Dany. "One can hope for little else of any day. Now that the pleasantries have been exchanged I would very much like to know your name."

Stopping, she glanced over her shoulder to see if Maekar was in their line of sight. Deciding it not to be the case, she turned to the young knight again. "Daenerys Velaryon. May I know yours?"

"I am Ser Arthur Harroway, heir to Harrenhal." Arthur shot a glance to see where Dany was looking, "Are you waiting for someone Lady Daenerys?"

"Ah.. not really, I just came that way. Ser Maekar of Dragonstone was there, getting ready to ride out. I just got back from the countryside," she smiled a little. "May I ask what brings you here?"

"Boredom mostly I would. Also to check on my mount, but I did not know that the Stables is where the most beautiful ladies in this city come to. Only if someone had told me sooner." Arthur gave Daenerys one his best dashing smiles.

Daenerys laughed softly, forgetting all about creepy Maekar behind them somewhere, in the shadows. "You flatter me, ser. I hardly ever come here, though. Somehow, today I chose to. What brings you to the city, Ser Arthur?" she asked.
