"It seems Dorne and the iron throne will never be friends," Daenya said regrettably. "And I agree; I would hate to live in the North, or anywhere else cold for that matter! Eugh, just imagine having to wear big fur cloaks all the time and those boring dresses they have." She shook her head.

Visenya was disappointed Daenya avoided the subject of Lord Yronwood's death. If something had happened to Rhaegar, as she suspected, well, with Elseyris' defection to her beloved Aegon's side, she had no family left that she could properly call her own. Except the baby, she reminded herself, nibbling on a sweet cake and pressing her palm to her belly.
"You are quite right. The proper place of fur is trimming a gown to accentuate one's looks, not completely concealing one's entire body! It is a wonder those northmen manage to breed at all."

Daenya giggled at that. "I suppose they'll want to keep each other warm at night as well. Though your as like to end up accidentally bedding with a bear than with a person I would guess!"
She laughed and drank some more of her tea. "I do miss my sister, and my brother," She said suddenly. "I wonder if they worry about me..."

She couldn't help but giggle as well. There was certainly something to be said for body heat in the colder winter months.
"I am sure they do. Mine probably think of me not at all." She just shrugged and sipped her tea a little more. "You all were close, though, weren't you?"

Daenya thought of Rhaegar, lying dead in the cold Dornish desert, his head barely attached to his body.
"I am sure they are thinking of you," Daenya reassured her cousin, finishing her tea. "And yes, we were close, though I got on better with Rhaena. I do hope a war can be avoided..."

Visenya went quiet and stared into her tea. "I don't think it can, now. There will be war against your brother and sister and war against Dorne both."
"Tell me, do you mean to fight for my husband? It was his men that brought you out of your imprisonment."

"And why would I want to do that?" Daenya asked her cousin with a bright smile. "The man killed my mother and means to make war on my siblings. I would be... a liability for his grace." She smirked.

"Perhaps so. Do you intend to attempt to fight for them, then?" Visenya raised her eyes to her cousin's face and gave her the sweetest smile ever recorded ever. "Because you know we cannot allow that."

Daenya laughed. "How cute, Visenya! Had I any plans of fighting for my brother and sister I would certainly not be sharing them with you." She giggled and refilled her tea, before beginning to peel an orange. "My war is against Dorne."

Visenya made a mental note to talk to her husband about having Daenya put in the recently vacated luxury prison that Vira had stayed in.
"Of course you wouldn't, but it is something I had to ask!" She held out a small knife to her cousin to aid in the peeling process. "And the correct form of address is 'your grace', cousin dear."

Daenya answered with a sweet smile of her own, ignoring the knife. What sort of person needed a knife to peel an orange?
"And here I thought we were closer than silly titles, cousin," She answered, popping the first segment between her plump lips. "Please don't say I am mistaken! We always got on so very well."

"I thought we were as well, but you were gone for such a long time that I wasn't entirely certain." She only winced a little when Daenya unconsciously squirted her with orange juice as she peeled. She was still not sure what to think of her cousin, but still, she smiled and said, "Visenya will suffice in private, then." "I do hope we continue to get on so well, despite our unique predicament."

"Friendship should not be changed by distance, or at least that is how I wish it would be," Daenya answered, eating the orange piece by piece, smiling to herself.
"As for our predicament... well, we will just have to live with it, won't we?"

"I suppose we will. I do wish my dearest brother Rhaegar was here. I believe I would hate him so much less now that I am Queen."

Daenya shrugged at that, sipping her tea. "If you say so; though I cannot see how one could tolerate that man. Even with a crown on ones head." She winked.

She had to laugh at that. "Yes, I think that were he here sycophanting about that he may even become more obnoxious. I do not look forward to telling my husband about his..." She did nto wish to say escape, so sustituted, "absense. Now, who was the Dornish gentleman that was taken captive? I am surprised my Lord Baratheon did not murder him in cold blood. That seems his style, if I may beg your pardon for saying so."

Daenya gave a small laugh. "Oh, Borros isn't that bad! He is a little bloodthirsty, that is true, but there is a heart somewhere in there." She laughed again, taking some spices to add to her tea.
"The dornish captive would be Prince Quentyn Martell, the younger son of Princess Sarella. He's harmless, if a little... arrogant, but no doubt a good hostage."

Visenya just shrugged at Daenya's comment regarding Baratheon. "Quentyn Martell, you say? Perhaps we should go and see how he is doing. He is in the city, is he not?"

"What would be the point? I don't particularly feel like gloating to him about his capture," Daenya said, sounding disinterested. "Though likely he is far less cocksure now."

"Then we should have him brought to us. I would like to meet him. I haven't spoken to a Dornishman in a very long time."
Visenya grinned and held up the teapot. "More tea, cousin?"

"If you wish," Daenya said with a small laugh, offering her cup to Visenya. "And yes please; it's been a long time since I have been able to drink tea. I couldn't find it anywhere on the Summer Isles!"

"Then we shall speak to him, and you shall have your tea. Excuse me just a moment, please." Visenya got up and went to the door, stepping out for just a moment while she asked for Quentyn Martell to be brought to her chambers.
She came back, smiling still, and poured the tea. "We shouldn't let these cakes go to waste. Won't you take a few more? Though I am sure young Martell will be hungry when he arrives. Perhaps he will finish them for us."

"Perhaps we should let Prince Quentyn stuff himself, before his lean prisoners diet begins!" Daenya jested with a small giggle, letting her tea cool. "Though were I your husband, I would ransom the Prince back to Dorne for what he paid for me. Well, perhaps a little more." She winked.

"But did he really pay for you? I thought everyone was killed, and then there was no one to collect the money?" She laughed. "I am sure the Prince will be well-kept and well-fed, prisoner or no. He is to be treated with honor, if I have anything to say about it. He has done nothing wrong, except to be born Princess Sarella's son."

Daenya laughed. "Of course; I was merely jesting about him being underfed! And well... what better way to double your money? Sarella loves her children and she is far too proud to let any of them remain a prisoner for too long."
