Visenya was clothed in violet, as she so often was, though today, a quantity of golden embroidery began at her neck and spiraled its way down to encircle her narrow waist. The gold thread had been picked off an unfashionable gown that had once been the property of one of the Ladies Toyne and sewn quickly to one of Visenya's. More than one servant at Darkheart Keep was even now rubbing her eyes from sleepless nights spent squinting by candlelight. She had her right arm looped through Maekar's left, carefully leaving his right hand free to do what he must. She smiled at everyone, even the King.

Vira stood with her left arm linked through Maekar's, wearing a gown of charcoal-colored wool. "We should pay our respects to the Queen, and ask when the weddings will be held, perhaps," she suggested to the other two.

Maekar was also dressed finely, in a black doublet trimmed with crimson, his sigil embroidedered in crimson on the breast. His eyepatch was crimson, with a tiny dragon embroidered in black thread in the center. As always, Vigilance hung at his hip, and the expression on his face gave the impression that he was quite pleased with himself, having entered with the two most beautiful women in King's Landing on his arms. "You may, if you like; she is not overly fond of me," he murmured quietly in response. "The King said the weddings would be before the month's end; two days from now."

"You're probably right, Vira," said Visenya, not glancing over at her as she spoke. Instead she was studying the other courtiers, wondering if they saw Aenar's eldest daughter any differently now. "Maekar? Shall we?"

Two days. The idea that her marriage was so near at hand made Vira a little nervous, but she smothered those feelings at once. "Then my cousin and I shall greet the Queen together," Vira said, giving Visenya a smile.

As both the King and Hand were otherwise occupied, it fell to Rhaella to greet visitors, hear petitions and sit in judgement of any crimes. The steward called out "All hail Her Grace Rhaella of the House Targaryen, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and Consort to His Grace King Maegor the Second of His Name."
The queen entered the throne room and headed towards the dais, long skirts swishing as she walked. Her gown was crimson silk with a cloth of gold underlay and she wore her simple crown. And though she wore a gown, she bore Dark Sister in an elegant scabbard at her side. Those familiar with court had seen this before, knew that Rhaella had her ornately carved wooden seat beside the Iron Throne. But this time Rhaella climbed onto the dais, swept past her usual chair and seated herself casually on the Iron Throne, hands resting on the armrests. She sat there as if it were for the thousandth time, though in truth she had never seated herself on the Iron Throne on a public occasion and was nervous, remembering her grandsire's untimely demise on the throne.
The steward announced "Lord Maekar Dracaryn, of Darkheart Keep, Lady Visenya Targaryen and Lady Vira, of Lower Crinkley."
Rhaella gazed down impassively at the trio and beckoned to them. "Be welcome to our court. Come forward."

"Your grace," Maekar replied, kneeling before the throne. "The Lady Visenya and I present ourselves to the throne, as we have been commanded, that we might be wed as the King desires," he said. He was not particularly fond of the Queen, as she had made his childhood on Dragonstone somewhat unpleasant, but none of that showed on his face.

"I am pleased to see you safely returned, Lord Maekar," Rhaella answered courteously. "Your marriage shall herald a new era of peace in the realm. I wish you joy of one another. I hope Darkheart Keep is to your satisfaction?"

Vira curtseyed a few moments afterwards. "Your Grace," she said humbly. "It is an honor to present myself before you, and I also give thanks for my advantageous betrothal to Lord Rhaegar."

Rhaella looked down at Vira and was suddenly sure Maegor had bedded the wench. "Your courtesy does your credit, Lady Vira. I am sure you will make Lord Rhaegar a most admirable wife. I hope you are finding Kings Landing to your liking."
She looked down at the trio, wondering. "Is there anything that any of you would ask of the crown regarding the weddings?"

"Very much so, Your Grace," Vira said demurely, remembering a night with the King that would have displeased the Queen very much. "I have nothing to request, since my good fortune in my marriage is more than enough."

"Yes, few dragonseed are as fortunate as yourself," Rhaella agreed. "Lord Maekar, Lady Visenya, do you have anything to say?"

Visenya curtseyed also, sweeping her gold-strewn skirts back elegantly. She had been raised to such courtesies and would not let the peasant outdo her. When at last she looked up at the Queen, her face bore a smile filled with confidence. "I am also pleased with the match the crown has made for me, Your Grace. I have had a new gown made for the occasion and I believe my lord Maekar has furnished everything else I may require."

"I am pleased to hear it. It will be good to have the younger generation settled," Rhaella answered. "Darkheart's incomes are sufficient to keep you in the style in which you have become accustomed. I know Lord Maekar will take good care of you." She gave Maekar a look that indicated he had better keep an eye on his wife.

She curtseyed again, though the significance of the look the Queen gave Maekar was not lost on her. "I have been to my lord's keep and I find it to be very pleasant. It will be good to spend some time away from court. And the city."

Maekar stepped forward, bowing to the Queen. "Your grace have my thanks, and that of my lady," he said formally. "Darkheart is at the service of the crown, always."

Rhaella nodded in answer to Visenya. "Yes, time away from the capital is always appreciated. I am sure you will enjoy Darkheart, Lady Visenya."
She looked to Maekar. "Your loyalty to the crown is much appreciated. You may be sure the King and I are always mindful of your past service. I am sure you will serve the crown as admirably in your marriage as you have done in battle and your other duties."

Maekar nodded, and bowed again. "By your grace's leave," he said, leading out of the throne room and escorting her up to her chambers.

"Granted." Maegor replied laconically with a wave of his hand, clearly exhausted from hearing petitions all day.
"Come back upon a dragon, or not at all." he intoned, as he usually did when granting such requests.

Yana has taken the time to wash up, comb and rebraid her hair and put a nice clasp on the end of the braid to secure it, Shes put on her best dress, its made from a dark nice looking wool, its of a decent shaped cut that doesn't show more than is decent. She has a shorter blade hidden on her somewhere.. for personal protection.
Yana approches the Throne Room and after giving her name and reason for presenting herself to the Announcer, she paiently awaits her turn whilst taking in everything around her without seeming to be overtly interested or too inquisitive.

A handle of courtiers fill the room. Yana catches the eye of a handsome young man who grins at her. "My lady. You are new to court," he whispered.

Yana inclines her head in greeting 'I am' she confirms in a very quiet tone, speaking in a hushed voice that will not carry further than his ear as to not disturb anyone. She conciders the courtiers to see if theres anything she can learn from their actions as to how Kings Landing differs to her previous home

She realises that though some of the people engage in conversation while the King is occupied, they do so in whispers. Nobody seems willing to risk offending the king by speaking loudly.
"I'm Ser Jaime," he whispered. "Might I know your name?"
