The dungeon of the Red Keep has four levels. On the upper level are cells with high narrow windows where common criminals are confined together. The second level has smaller, personal cells without windows for highborn captives. Torches in the halls cast light through the bars. The third level cells, the "black cells", are smaller still, and have doors of wood so that no light enters them. These are reserved for the most vile and dangerous prisoners. The lowest level is used for torture. It is supposedly safer to go through the fourth level of the dungeons in darkness, because there are things one would not wish to see.

Kesi arrived at the cells, with a letter from the king, saying that she was permitted a prisoner to do with as she will.
She waited at the entrence, her nose wrinkled at the smell from the cells as she waited for someone to help her with what she seeked..

She was met by one of the jailer's, a sallow-skinned man with dirt under his fingernails and clothes stained with ale, blood and only the gods knew what else. He had the sour smell of someone who hadn't bathed in a while.
"What you want?" He asked, glaring at her.

"Prisoner." Kesi answered, holding the letter out and hoping the man could recognise the Kings sign.
In contrast to the man she was gleaming, with her blue hair pinned up showing her long neck and pale skin.

"I am wanting strong one." Kesi answered. She glanced in a few of the cells. "And am wanting to know why they are being in."

"Come take a looo," he said, toying with his keys as he led the way down the corridor. "Why does it matter what they're here for? Are all thieves or murderers or the like. You want a thief or a murderer?"

"I am not truly being bothered why they are being here, I am just needing a strong one. Maybe one that is to be dying but we will be seeing."
She lifted the skirts of her dress to keep it a little cleaner.

He showed her to the common room where the thieves and other less dangerous criminals were kept. Some had the starved look she recognised because she had seen it on Gendry and Rosey, others had nast coughs, but a few looked strong and healthy. Some were men and some were women, and some were still children.

"We keep those in different cells," he said. "Some have bars on the windows."
He showed her the individual rooms where the murderers and others were kept, with tiny barred windows in the door.

Kesi picked a particularly big and brutal looking man, and found her dainty but very sharp knife on her belt.
"He is in chains, no?" She asked, not wanting to take any risks on her life.

Kesi turned to the man and smiled.
For his crimes she decided that she wanted him to be scared as he ran into the arms of the dead so she unclipped her bracelet, revealing the horror that was beneath her glamour.

The man had killed many more people than the jailer even know, people of all ages, and he shrank at nothing. But he cowered from Kesi now, screamed, called her a monster.

Kesi's smile grew, stretched into the grotesque by the burns on her face that had in her opinion ruined her.
She spoke in High Valyrian as she said the spell that she hoped would cure the little girl in her room. Her wickedly sharp blade sunk deep into the mans heart as she spoke.

The man screams as the blade bites into him, blood spewing out from the wound, onto his torso and onto Kesi's hand too. As far as she knew, the spell was working.

Kesi narrowed her eyes and moved the knife upwards, knowing that the man would be in considerable pain as he died.
She didnt stop saying the spell, until he breathed his last. She wiped her bloody hand on the dirty clothes he wore and calmly clipped her bracelet back on before she called the jailer over.
