The guards look up at once, many of them disturbed from tankards of ale or plates of food, others busy with dice games or cleaning their weapons. One man, tall and confident. rises to his feet the instant Arenya speaks. "I'm the king's man, m'lady. I'll follow you."
Around him, many others rise, though not all.

"I am obliged by the loyalty of you men", she grinned at them. "Take up and prepare to follow me to find more worthy to this cause. " Arenya then cast a stare at the rest, who were unmoved, "and you, lazy, frightened bastards!!! My nephew trusted you, protected you and honored your loyalty!!! You can either remain here to die in cowardly skins by the shadows of magic his queen will descend upon you or you can fight for your King's good name." |

Some more men rose, but one burly fellow, remaining resolutely seated and insolently cleaning his nails with a knife, said "She's the queen, m'lady. 'Tis death to harm a queen, as much as a king."
Another man, pale and frightened, said "I ain't getting nowhere near no magic, m'lady."

"You will dishonor your Lord", Shaking her head in disgust, "Then you sit here and wait until she comes for you both.." Arenya nodded at the men who joined her,"Take me to find more. We're going to need as many of you as I can get." She then departed the Great Hall continuing her search. |
