After a moment, Aegon opens it. "Hello, Elsey. Do you want to come in?" Aegon asks. He had not expected her, but it was not an unpleasant surprise. "I would, if you are not busy."

"Please do." Aegon holds open the door for her and gestures for her to enter. There is a small fire in the hearth, and a leatherbound book left on a chair before it.

She glances at the book, before finding herself a seat near the chair before the hearth, curious as to Aegon's choice of reading material.
"I was hoping to ask a few things, before the time comes to leave, since it will be new to me."

Aegon moves the book and sits down in the chair. Judging by its title, it is an account of the Conquest. "I'll answer if I can. What sort of questions did you have?" Aegon asked.

"Well," she started, her hands beginning to fidget a little. "It is obvious that I should take my armour and weapon, but I know not what else a soldier takes with them to war. I have never been told what an individual requires in this situation. This will also be the first time I leave King's Landing, so I do not know how I should conduct myself, around yourself, and the others."
She finally, hesitantly, switched her embarrassed gaze from the floor to Aegon's face;
"I thought you to be someone I could ask who would not laugh at me for my ignorance."

"Take what you need to care for your dragon properly. You'll need a tent and bedding as well. Enough food for a week's journey, but you needn't pack more than that; we'll resupply from Maekar's supply train. As for conduct, follow orders and be brave. That is most of the trick, really." Aegon looks up as Aemy walks in. "Hello Aemy. I've been meaning to talk to you, have a seat."

Elseyris nodded, glad for the advice. She was about to ask another question when Princess Aemy entered. Glancing around, she was not sure if this meant she was about to be ejected prematurely.

"Father has given me the command for the final push to Oldtown," Aegon informed her. "I want you with us when we go."

"Good," Aegon said with a smile. "We'll have a proper flight of dragons for the attack. Elsey will be fighting alongside of us. It's her first campaign, and she came to ask for a few pointers." Aegon gave Elsey a fond look. "Aemy fought in the westerlands with me," Aegon explained.

She was very apprehensive of Aemy, but knew she would have to make herself liked. "I look forward to joining the ranks, My Lady," she said with a respectful nod.

"I hear you have a fierce dragon in Nenyan," Aemy replied with cool courtesy. "I look forward to seeing him in combat." "Thank you, My Lady. He is a very fast and nimble flyer. I hope to be an asset to our forces."

"Not so fierce as his rider," Aegon said with a smile.

"Not so fierce as his rider," Aegon said with a smile. Despite her attempts to be cool and calm in Aemy's presence, Aegon's comment, and the winning smile that went with it, made her blush bright red, and grin unreservedly, as a little appreciative laugh escaped her lips; "Thank you, My Lord. You flatter me so."

Aegon grinned. "I only speak to my observations, Elsey." He looked to Aemy next, somewhat amused by her sigh. "Hardly. Aemon will fly with us, and I intend to ask Baelor too. With my Glutton as well, that makes five. Add that to Rhaena and Valarr Stone, who will meet us at Highgarden, and Maekar's own beast already at the front, and we will have eight. And we will need them all, I think. By all reports Oldtown is more heavily fortified than any keep or city in the realm."

"Mother will be attacking the Arbor at the same time with the Velaryon fleet and a few dragons of her own, so we should not need to worry about interference from that front. Though of course we'll need to get to Oldtown before anything else..." He trailed off, apparently in thought. "I suppose it is no use to worry about it until we have more information."

"We'll have to scout them out once we arrive at the front." Aegon did not seem consoled. "And of course I worry, that is my responsibility. Not worrying means dead soldiers, dead dragons, and dead family."

Aemy's proposition surprised Elseyris. She wasn't expecting what seemed like a vote of confidence. She wondered if there was more to it.
"Well, my dragon is quite fast, so I could cover an area quickly, and he'd be good at dodging arrow fire, I think."
"Of course, I wouldn't want to presume upon your own strategies, My Lord," she hastily added.

"It is no presumption. I had similar thoughts, your dragon is well-suited for the task. Though there is little point in making more plans than that until we arrive and can appraise the situation."

Wisdowm Waxley and the scrolls he had shown the King arrived at Prince Aegon's chambers. Here, Waxley requested to speak with the heir, hoping he would be receptive to his plans.

Aegon is in the process of packing his things to leave when Waxley is shown in. Aegon was fairly sure he had never met the man, but one of the servants provided him with his name and title. "What can I do for you, Wisdom? I'm afraid you'll have to be brief, war waits for no man."

Waxley scurried in with the parchment under one arm. He bowed before the PRince in deferrence while the man was packing. He noted the slight hurry and tried to compose a shortened version of his pitch to the king. "My prince," he said quickly, "I presented my new ideas to the king, which he approved, but left for you to decide if they are used. He unfurled the scrolls and showed the sketches of dragon being rode by a rider with a mockup of bags being carried underneath the dragon. "My prince, to protect the dragon and their rider, I propose that we simply drop wildfire from a safe height onto any danger you face before battle. Catapults can only shoot so far but a dragon has free range to fly where it pleases." He used his free hand to make a swooping gesture. "These are just preliminary ideas my prince, untested as of yet. But we believe the advantages to be numerous."

"Even I know wildfire is unstable," Aegon said, looking over the sketches. It was an intriguing idea, but Aegon wanted to know details. "How do you propose to keep it intact through the jolt of taking flight and landing? Not to mention..." A new thought came to Aegon slowly. "I was given to understanding that wildfire could ignite just by being left in the sun overlong. Surely a dragon's belly would be hotter than that?"

"We have no dragons of our own my prince, these are just theories, unproven as of yet, but if properly controlled...My prince, you do make valid observations," Waxley felt himself sweating a little bit now, nervous. "T-the jars would be stabilised in amongst dirt or sand. A container within a vessel..to ease the amount of movement..Of course the rider and dragon should be skilled and have as much finesse as possible...The sacks for instance would be tied by rope or linens." Waxley found one of the other diagrams he had and pointed to it, a mock drawing of a proposed take off. He pointed to the wildfire in sacks, a notable distance from the dragon and rider. "The wildfire would be prepared before hand in a field for instance, then the ropes laid out toward the dragon, where it will be attached to a harness.." He wiped his forehead, "Then the dragon and its rider should rise steadily upwards and take flight. "I-i..if a container should catch fire, the rider would of course disengage the harness and let them all fall away."

"That seems... as though it would work. And be useful." Aegon thought for a moment. "The only last problem is transport. I need these in Oldtown, and not even a dragon can make a flight that far in a day. And hanging below a dragon, landing would be difficult..." Aegon frowned, letting the silence stretch on as he thought. "Ah. Wisdom, I want you to make as many of these packages as you can. Thick clay jars, thick enough that dropping and jostling them from a normal distance would not set them off. And pack them in crates of sand. Deliver those, with whatever rigging and harnesses you can devise... at least ten of them, to my mother Queen Rhaella for transport south in her fleet."
"And be good enough to explain to her the purpose of them, and that her son shall endeavor to collect them at the Arbor if she can find no use for them herself." Aegon pauses. "This was very clever, Wisdom. Thank you."
