Lord Reyne, the Master of Coin, lives here. His rooms are comfortable but sparse and functional because he fears thieves and prefers to hoard his wealth rather than flaunt it.

Lord Reyne was informed that Lady Elseyris waited outside to speak with him.

She was shown in. Lord Reyne sat behind his desk going through some account books, but immediately closed them when he saw her. "Lady Elseyris," he greeted her, though he didn't rise, as he normally would for a member of the royal family. "What can I do for you today?"

She respectfully curtsied as best she could with her injured ankle, and took a seat.
"My Lord, I know you are busy, so I will keep this short and sweet. It will be my name day soon, and I know that the scope for celebration must be kept modest in these times. It is with this in mind that I thought to ask if I might join in a hunt shortly beforehand, and have the catch prepared and presented at a small, low-key gathering for the day. I had thought it would be economical and auspicious, and I know you to be fond of hunting, so I would like it if you were willing to guide me in this venture, as I am inexperienced in hunting myself. What do you think?"

"I am very fond of hunting, as it happens," said Lord Reyne. "I would be happy to escort you thus. But I can tell you that the crown cannot finance this event, even if the hunt takes the meat. It was bad enough having to finance Princess Daenya's party, and her the king's own daughter." He looked very seriously at her. "My lady, you do understand that His Grace the King would not countenance spending any of his own money in this matter. Do you have money of your own?"

"I know, which is why I am not asking for any financing from the crown. I have friends who will take care of it. It is only to be a small, quiet affair, it will not take much anyway."

"I will be happy to escort you, then. Do you ride well? I insist that all members of my hunting parties are good horsemen. I believe Ser Trajan will need to accompany you also?"

"Well enough, My Lord. I have been accustomed to riding a dragon for several years, but my horse-riding will come back to me quickly enough," she said, forcing a smile.
Elsey's eyes flickered downwards awkwardly at the mention of Trajan.
"Yes, that will be necessary, I'm afraid. I have no control over that matter."

Very well then. I see no reason why all may not be satisfied," he replied. "Do you have suitable riding clothing?"

"I do, yes. I am able to dress for proper riding, not just sauntering along at the back," she said, confidently.

"Good. Will the day after tomorrow suffice?" He asked. "Perhaps you might invite your sister to join the group as well?"

"That would be perfect. I will invite Visenya too then."
Elsey smiled politely, rising from her seat.
"I look forward to it."

"As do I," he said, very courteous. "Best remember, though, I make no allowances for riders who cannot catch up. We ride hard and we ride fast. Good day, Lady Elseyris."
He showed her to the door.

///////////////// Bertram had just left his rooms after seeing the Queen and went to the Master of Coin's chambers, Seeing a guard posted outside of the door he mentioned his name and title and that he would like to speak with the Master.

The guard mentioned his arrival to Lord Reyne. Moments later, the prince was ushered into Lord Reyne's solar. Lord Reyne was a few years younger than Bertram and had taken the post in the years following the prince's exile, so he was not a familiar face. He bowed courteously nonetheless. "Greetings, Prince Bertram. I am honoured by your visit. I know you have been away for many years. May I welcome you home."

"I believe I heard your name was Lord Reyne, please correct me if I a wrong." Bertram shook the man's hand, "I am glad you know of my situation, it will save me the time of explaining it. I have come to you to see what holdings and finances, I have left in my name, if any. My stipend in Lorath was respectable, but I had much more back ehre in King's Landing before I was sent away." Bertram's tone was amiable but concerned.

"I see. Your incomes would have been managed by stewards, I believe. I should be able to find you the name and some indication of the total incomes, less taxes, of course. My apologies, but even a prince is not exempt from paying his taxes," he added with a brief smile. You will forgive me, I know, but I shall have to search the account books. It may take some time. You were exiled twenty years ago, yes?"

"Yes, yes, death and taxes!" Bertram laughed, "Please take your time, and yes, twenty years... How the time flies."
Bertram took a seat and waited while the Master looked through his books.

Lord Reyne picked up one of the books, frowning down at Bertram as he did so. "My prince, perhaps I was not clear before. It may not be easy to find the right information. It will certainly not be quick. Has His Grace confirmed that you are to enjoy the aforementioned revenues now that you are home again?" He realised he might have to speak to the king about that. The royal treasury was in dire need of funds and the Prince. friendly though he might be, had done nothing for the war effort or to govern the kingdom.

Bertram shrugged, "His Majesty had said nothing. As I said before, I had been receiving a small stipend while I was in Lorath, so it is quite possible that I have no money left to enjoy. That is why I am here, you are the Master of Coin after all. I do not seek riches from you or the kingdom, just information on my monetary status."
Bertram sighed and stood up, "I have rooms in the keep, send word when you have found the information I require."
He turned around before he left the room, "I have been a 'Diplomatic Envoy' for as long as I was a prince, do not mistake my curiosity as seeking charity good ser, I do not wish to stir trouble."

"I did not think it," Lord Reyne replied. "I shall be sure to look into the situation but the early files are twenty years out of date, and I will also have to examine the more recent ones, and possibly check others to determine any major losses caused by the war. Do you have sufficient funds for anything you will need in the immediate future?"

"I do indeed, I made sure to bring enough to live off of, in addition to the kindnesses His Majesty has bestowed on me, but most of my money has been left in Lorath with my wife. I of course had to make sure that she was taken care of in my absence until I can bring her here."

"I see. Well, it seems your circumstances are not dire, so that is of some comfort," Lord Reyne answered. "I shall scour the account books to determine your situation. I regret that my personal knowledge of your situation is minimal, since I did not even reside at court when you left."

"Not dire, just something worth knowing when living in a city as expensive as King's Landing." Bertram smiled.
"I appreciate your help, If there is someone I should speak to instead I will, and I apologize if I have added more to an already strained workload. I understand things must be difficult for you due to the war. Perhaps I could treat you to a drink sometime, I fear I have inadvertently stepped on your toes."

"You have not," said Lord Reyne. "I am merely surprised to be dealing with something that began long before I came to court. It makes no matter. I have assistants to help me. But I will gladly accept the offer of a drink some day. Unfortunately the war gave the crown many debts, which I am obliged to deal with."
